September 22, 2025Sep 22 My (very) basic performance tests... I can't really use FPS, as I stated earlier, my monitors maximum is 60. So same test in both SU3 (Yesterday), and SU4 beta (Today). Carenado C210, Sedona to Flagstaff, 4k DLSS + FG, just about all ultra except trees on high. LOD 200 and 300. With REX Atmos and Sky4Sim. Set to 30 max frame rate in sim with x 2 DLSS FG Light thunder storms, time set to 5pm to generate longer shadows. The C210 Weather Radar worked perfectly on the precipitation. MSFS2020, GPU 53% utilisation average, CPU - 3 cores bouncing off 100% occasionally. Fans just about audible. MSFS2024, GPU 46% utilisation average, CPU - 1 core hitting 100% occasionally. Can't hear fans at all. By the way, while there is a max frame rate slider bug, I have found 32 to be the smoothest in the end. Just better than 31, where there was the occasional hitch, whereas 32 is absolutely liquid silk - happy with it now! I carried on flying after my test for 90 minutes. No degradation and obviously no crash to desktop or freezes etc. I was using a Tobii Head Tracker which I obviously can't adjust in SU4 beta but luckily the settings are carried over perfectly from SU3. I also notice the C210 has been updated for lighting issues etc. It must happen automatically as I didn't see any notice. I really got to like it during the flight - feels good! CT210N MSFS2024 version 1.0.1 ———————————————————- August 22nd, 2025 – External light effect fixed – Sound minor fixes – Minor artwork fixes – EDM800 improvement – Flight dynamics improvements – Textures minor fixes The Asobo TBM and Longitude had updates yesterday but I had to get them from the marketplace. Not sure why the system is different. Just to add, I like the way the default pad now centralises on the plane in the map every time you open it. I always thought it was odd it didn't and you had to keep clicking on the little centralise button. Another good QoL improvement! 'Spaghetti coding' is used to often to justify it, and how a simple frame rate slider gets wrapped up in the 'spaghetti' baffles me. Ok, I can speak to this in a very brief fashion. The simple answer is... unless you have the background to understand how and why it happens, it really can't be explained beyond a certain point. I say this because I used to work at Microsoft (and various other big tech companies in my career). I wasn't a developer, but used to work with senior and advanced developers on things all the time. I consider myself fairly technical (I've published apps on the Windows App Store, for example. Have coded in C#, Go, JS, etc), and an "advanced beginner" programmer. I'm not a complete layperson, but I don't have a CS degree or an advanced Math degree. But even so, beyond a certain point, the real developers working on products with millions of lines of code could not truly explain complex software issues it because I just lacked the knowledge to understand their explanation. So they would simplify to get their point across. I'd have to either be satisfied with that, or else go back to college for a 4-year degree in computer science (which is not the same thing as programming - it's more rigorous, has deep math and so forth), then work for 10+ years on large software products before I could really understand it. The best developers can of course explain things in a way that makes sense to most people with some idea of software dev, but you cannot truly appreciate or understand the issue in the way they can So yeah, I'm sure they can give you an answer that will give some further context, but what you think is a "simple" frame rate slider will actually be super complex. Thank you Update, Tried the suggestions above but, Not matter what, The sim freezes and locks after about 10 min. I decided to go back to SU3 and now, No issues..... i guess i will wait on SU4 a bit longer.... So , No matter what i tried it was to no avail with SU4 Beta... I decided to leave the Beta and revert back to SU3. Everything working great in SU3, No freezes, smooth etc.... After a few flights with no freezes, I decided to get back into SU4 Beta. Now after numerous flights No freezes, smooth etc.... Don't know why unless something did not go right with the initial SU4 Beta download /install. But, Now its working great with no freezes. September 25, 2025Sep 25 Hi guys. My main question is. How about contrails in SU4? Can you see them from ground when waiting for PAX to board? What about contrails and models of planes ehen in cruise? Can you see them from at least 25nm+ like in Msfs20? Or still that horrible max 8nm and suddenly appearing and dissapearing of planes and contrails in front of you when in cruise? Would really loved to switch to msfs24 but that contrails and model of planes appearing from less than 8nm is a no go for me, and rather staying on msfs20 where I can see contrails/plane models from ground during PAX boarding and in cruise from cca 28nm , maybe 30nm away.
September 25, 2025Sep 25 I have just completed my first flight on SU4 with the FSL A21N but unfortunately the second half of the flight turned into a slideshow. My system specs are AMD 7800XD with an RTX 4090. I was running AutoFPS and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation but still only saw around 15 FPS. The night lighting looks fantastic but performance was disappointing so I think I will revert to SU3. Gavin Price

I have a similar config (9800x3d but that’s only a little better than your cpu) and I see amazing performance which is also very very smooth. with that config you should get very very smooth results. Something might have been misconfigured or broken (old driver?). 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
September 26, 2025Sep 26 Is the weather more dangerous in SU4? First time back simming in several months and decided to take out a cessna into a storm hitting the philipines right now and basically got ripped to shreds and dumped into the ocean even on low turbulence setting. Dont remember storms being that scary before.
