September 30, 2025Sep 30 A shame about the negativity from some, I’m quite excited for another classic. Whether it’s currently flying or not makes no difference to me, more interested in flying the plane not the route. Would’ve preferred the 742 like @LRBS mentioned but that’s alright.
September 30, 2025Sep 30 I am also excited for the PMDG 747 Classics. I am actually excited for the whole line which I hope they complete. The 747 is such a legacy airplane it does need to be accurately represented. I see nothing wrong with the 100 and its not like anyone else is taking on the 747 classics. These old classics definitely have limitations that push your skills rather immensely. I hope we get more classics in the sim eventually!

First strategy: It launched the DC-6 for MSFS2020 while everyone was waiting for the B737-800. Meanwhile, it sold very well. It launched the B737-700 while everyone was waiting for the 800. For MSFS 2024, it made the B777 compatible while everyone was waiting for the B737-800. It will likely launch the B747-100 while everyone is waiting for the B737-800 for MSFS24 and awaiting the B747-400. And so it continues to sell its products. Is it wrong? I don't think so. This is a marketing strategy. Meanwhile.

October 1, 2025Oct 1 I was privileged to fly every 747 except the SP and also flew the LCF for Boeing. Not sure why they chose to do the 100, there is an old saying that you never want to fly the 100 of anything. It's a fairly marginal airplane, the 200 was what really made the legend and the 400 by far the best performer. The dash 8 is a bean counters plane, elegant but a somewhat leisurely performer. More weight and more efficient but not really more power to go with the weight.

Considering that they also intend to model the SP, I would say it is because they want to develop all versions of the 747. I do not see anything wrong with that. October 1, 2025Oct 1 I am pretty sure they have plans to do all of the "Original" 747 variants. So the 100-400 including the SP. I think the only question mark is the -8? At least at one time PMDG has not committed to that variant just yet but that might have changed by now. I think the -8 will be last and will depend on the success of the other original versions and if they have time to do it. Hopefully I am wrong and they do them all in time! One thing that is a sad reality is nothing is a sure thing until near complete preview pictures are posted. Minds and commitments constantly change in this hobby.

October 2, 2025Oct 2 Hey. Boris is making his own 777 all variant soundpack and releasing this month. https://youtu.be/Ljs9YyQ5AvE?si=pt1jmg-pne5diS5X Thank god, as now it doesn’t matter that PMDG’s GE90 was going to only maybe be released this year with no word on any other variants… Edited October 2, 2025Oct 2 by UAL4life
