October 19, 2025Oct 19 I know we have discussed this before and I have long suspected that Nahamic and Realtek software have been a problem for me and also wonder if it happens more when either ms servers run slower (or even our ISPs)at peak times, but I saw a video or read somewhere recently (may have ben Islandsimpilot) that clearing your rolling cache and setting it to 16 GB might help (mine was set at 32 GB). It certainly seemed to have helped from what I can tell, so worth doing if you are having issues as it's a possible quick and easy fix at no cost. October 19, 2025Oct 19 This happened to me today for the first time in MSFS2020. I did the above and can confirm it helped. Thanks. Ilya Ilya Eydis, PPL, ASEL
October 19, 2025Oct 19 I have basic Realtek drivers, and 16gb of rolling cache regularly cleaned, and I still get this after flying for extended time or at busy airports, so although taking certain measures might make it better, fundamentally it is the sim. Asobo are aware and trying to make it better in SU4. Although if is a sound issue, some have linked it to when VRAM starts running out. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. October 19, 2025Oct 19 Thanks, I'll definitely give that a try! I never really had issues with sound popping or stuttering before, but a few days ago it suddenly became very severe, seemingly out of nowhere.
October 19, 2025Oct 19 happening for me also pmdg 777-300 seems to happen at cruise pretty severe popping and stuttering cleared rolling cache just the same for me 16gb cache jeff storey

You may have a point there as even with 16 GB VRAM, I still find myself getting close to the limit in some areas of third party photoscenery. I've also had it when nowhere near the VRAM limit though, so there may be a number of problems involved including the few I mentioned above and the VRAM issue. Of course it may be possible for ASOBO to rewrite some of the simulators code to help overcome at least some of the issues in SU4. October 19, 2025Oct 19 I’ve had this issue now for a couple of days. Rolling cache is being emptied but it didn’t help. Why so many have this problem now? It has never happened to me before this.
October 19, 2025Oct 19 I am noticing this now quite a bit but I am on the SU4 beta. Started with the last build or 2. Most noticeable closer to airports on both departure and arrival but still happens enroute. Have had it happen with both PMDG 777 and Fenix.... October 19, 2025Oct 19 Definately not a resources problem at my end. 5090 with 32 Gb VRAM, use around 20 Gb at max. 64 Gb system RAM. Usually fly FENIX YSCB to YSSY as they're nice short flights. Get occassional sound pops with stutters on approach or departing YSSY. Using GSX and BATC with SI entourage. I'm pushing my system to the limit with everything on Ultra and 6144 shadows. TLOD min 200 and 400 once in the air. Frame rate locked at 30 fps and 2X DLSS frame gen. Very smooth visual experience however main thread is being hammered in the latest beta build for SU4 which results in micro stuttering. I've had sound pops in SU3 and the only way I've found to reduce them is to clear the shader cache. I had got into a routine of clearing the cache, via DDU, before every flight however even this would lead to them returing after eight or so flights. I've tried all the 'tricks' recommened to cure sound pops and yet they continue, only in MSFS 2024. Has to be something at Asobos end.
October 20, 2025Oct 20 I have the same issue but on MSFS 2020. It happens on some flights, not always. It only happens when I'm airborne. I don't know how to solve it. Rolling cache is disabled in my case. October 20, 2025Oct 20 Author I guess that clearing all the caches - shader, nvidia, scenery, etc. might help. https://flightsim.to/file/71729/corsten-s-cache-shader-removal-tool Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
October 20, 2025Oct 20 This issue has been a bug for many months now. Its always with PMDG or Fenix and now the Inibuilds A340 and its often for me in cities that have large photogrammetry or its more persistant in those areas. Would be interesting if anyone can spot what may be spiking and why it would cause a sound stutter. Its the only thing that blights MSFS 2024 currently. Sometimes its better then it returns.. Hopefully Asobo are looking into it. H.
October 20, 2025Oct 20 It's an on going issue which I assume is complex hence why we haven't seen any fixes for it yet.
October 21, 2025Oct 21 What cleared it up for me was disabling all unused audio devices and ensuring that the audio device I'm using was selected in the sim.
October 21, 2025Oct 21 Is anyone here using Windows 10? I never had this issue until I recently updated to Windows 11. I'm not entirely sure it's related, but the timing feels a bit suspicious.
