November 21, 2025Nov 21 Thanks for that useful information. I am downloading 581.94 now and will install straight away. So judging by this information, AMD graphics users don't have the sound popping / crackling issue? Only Nvidia? Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). November 21, 2025Nov 21 I had this issue on my previous PC (12900K, 3090), not on this one. I have no idea what is different but I'm pretty sure it isn't an NVidia issue. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

November 21, 2025Nov 21 I had significant stuttering and popping with a 9800x3d and a 4080 super. Swapped out the 4080 super for a 7900xtx. The issue stopped for me the very first flight in msfs 2024 with the 7900 xtx. That was in May. 6 months now and not a single audio pop. In my case, it seems to not like the amd /nvidia cpu/gpu combination.

November 22, 2025Nov 22 After a good week with no stutters or moreso no audio crackling it came back with a vengence. Difficult to tell which SU Beta 4 update has retriggered it as been a few over the past couple of days. Ive installed the latest nVidia hotfix (581.94), cleared shaders etc and it has not helped. PC almost freezes like I have swapped the AMD 7800x3D cpu for an old 386 and downgraded the 64 Gb of ram to 48K like an old ZX Spectrum. Appalling this happens even with my 5090. Been following threads for many months and tried every tip. I could always re-enable the rolling cache but had popping before with it enabled. Id wipe my system if I knew it would help but read of others trying that to no avail. With these frequent updates it is now difficult to diagnose the problem, is it the update? Is it simply as its a Saturday and the Asobo servers get hammered? Currently flying the Fenix from Dublin to Paris and performance took a nose dive after takeoff at Dublin. Thought at first AutoFPS was causing it as had it set for a custom VFR profile with high TLOD, switched to IFR and seemed to help but audio stutters again started over south Wales approaching Bristol. Running sim at 4K, TAA. Reluctant to switch to DLSS Quality due to glass cockpit ghosting but might as well test it. I know many with better cpus still get this issue so doubt its my 7800x3D. Frustrated as want to test my new WinWing Ursa Minor controller in the Fenix Chris Ibbotson AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D / MSI AMD MPG x670E Carbon Motherboard / Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card / Corsair DOMINATOR Titanium RGB Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 / NZXT C1200 Gold ATX 3.1 - Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply - 1200 Watts - 80 PLUS Gold / 48” UltraGear™ UHD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor / 40" Philips 4K LED Monitor / Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant / WinWing Orion Rudder Pedals c/w dampener / WinWing Ursa Minor Airline Joystick / WinWing Airbus MCDU
November 23, 2025Nov 23 Author Bit the bullet and installed the 581.94 hotfix drivers today. At the same time, I deleted my rolling cache and shader cache and reduced rolling cache size from 32 GB to 16 GB (default value). Result is a much smoother sim and I am able to increase the texture resolution back up from high to ultra. TLOD and OLOD both 200 DLSS DAAA Pretty much everything back to ultra now except trafic and shadow textures. Those recent drivers and the botched W11 update were certainly having an effect on my system. Hope that this helps someone, although all our systems and system software is different and whilst some may benefit, some will not. November 24, 2025Nov 24 Unfortunately I'm now a fully fledged member of the snap crackle and pop club. Driving a 9800x3d on windows 11 with all updates installed coupled with an old 3080ti until yesterday. In beta 4 and was experiencing some sound glitches but only occasionally. Had a 5090 put in today and was bursting to try it out. First impressions were good with stellar frame rates. However my heart sank as I experienced stutters and sound glitches like I've never seen before. Tried everything I could think of to make them go away but without success, although reducing settings a bit and limiting FPS does seem to reduce their frequency and impact. Not seeing this phenomenon anywhere else in the pc so I don't think there's anything wrong with the 5090 itself. Have installed latest Nvidia driver and hotfix, don't know what else I can try. So with this happening to lots of other people who have also tried just about everything (including me), I can only conclude Asobo need to revisit this, at least to give us some guidance on what to try if they think it is not down to the sim. November 25, 2025Nov 25 It is remarkably often the case for 9800X3D users (including myself). So I wonder if it is related? Maybe those on Intel have a slightly different issue just manifestating in comparable audio crackings?
