  • And still no plans to pivot from 2020 to 2024?  Man these guys have not only missed the boat, they missed the whole ocean...

  • The same claim each time a new sim version come along. I'm also sure plenty of people still used FS2004 when FSX came along. Guess how long that lasted...

  • First and foremost I don't want to come across as anti BB or rooting against them in any way.  I think the work they have demonstrated looks phenomenal and have been yearning for a good 757 in FS sinc

Oh my goodness I forgot about the fact that they said that! 😄

I wouldn't be surprised if the 757 really gets released in october/november, if gta6 doesn't get pushed even further...

I read that one of the developer's home was lost in the hurricane in the Caribbean.

BBs 757 will be released for both sims.

Very much doubt. Plenty of people still use 2020 and refuse to go to 2024. It's a win.

And MSFS2028 at the same time...

I got my LS swap 64 olds 442 done quicker than that at a few hours a week and some on weekends!  AND I'm 70. 🙂

Release 2028 at the earliest for best case. 2030 for the Synaptic A220 sponsored by iNibuilds. I will go back into my cave now.

Yes MS 2028 announcement and will be released before any of these products release.

I would be interested to know how long it took for the FSX userbase to become larger than the FS2004 userbase. I suspect that it was much, much faster than MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024.

I'm confused, why is there any association / correlation between GTA6 and the Blackbird Bluebird 757?

Why is one release in any way related to the other?

You don't have to guess. There's plenty of public data to form a reasonable opinion.

Steam concurrent players (snapshot-able)

MSFS 2020 typically has more concurrent players than 2024. For example: SteamDB shows higher live players for 2020 right now, and historically a much higher all-time peak (61,829 for 2020 vs. 24,863 for 2024). The public data suggest MSFS 2020 is still the preferred sim, with MSFS 2024 slowly closing the gap.

Community survey (broadest public panel)

The Navigraph FlightSim Community Survey 2024 (published Apr 16, 2025) indicates MSFS 2020 remains the primary sim for ~52% of respondents, while MSFS 2024 is ~24.9%; combined MSFS share is ~77% (rest split among X-Plane, P3D, etc.).

The public data suggest MSFS 2020 is still the preferred sim, with MSFS 2024 slowly closing the gap. As a developer, it's completely justifiable to build for MSFS 2020 first, as thats where the bulk of the market resides.

I think you meant Bluebird Simulations. Bluebird said on Reddit that their 757 will come out before GTA 6 is released. That was based on the GTA 6 release date of May in 2026, when Bluebird said this on Reddit. Yesterday, Rockstar pushed back the release date of GTA 6 to November of 2026.  So the OP thinks that the Bluebird Simulations 757 release date will also be pushed back.

But I don't necessarily think so. When Bluebird said that on Reddit, they had May of 2026 in mind, which meant they were confident that their 757 would be released before May of 2026. I haven't read anything from Bluebird staff saying the date for their 757 has been pushed back.
