November 21, 2025Nov 21 Must be getting close to release I think? I joined this beta about halfway through and it’s been smooth sailing, doesn’t feel like being in a beta. Flew from Midway to Omaha, amazing night lighting, two custom airports, iFly 737 Max, and not even one stutter at all.

Do you use rolling cache or do you have done the trick by deleting it after installed it in a manual choosen folder and deleting that one after RC got installed in there? Regards, Marcus P.

My experience is that Foveated Rendering is a double-edged sword anyways. It can take load off the GPU but at the cost of significantly increasing load on the CPU. In my case, for example, I get significantly lower fps in the Fenix with AI traffic if I turn on Foveated Rendering compared to when I turn it off. Of course, this is driven by the fact that my GPU is very powerful and the CPU is the limiting factor with complex aircraft and AI traffic. But I would assume that this also applies to others who run 4090s or even 5080s. So be careful. Foveated Rendering always sounds like the life saver for fps but under certain circumstances it is actually quite the opposite. November 21, 2025Nov 21 I have 5800X3D, 4090, and Varjo Aero. With the dynamic foveated rendering (resoluution 25%) I get huge positive frame rate impact.

November 21, 2025Nov 21 Unfortunately, performance had gotten worse the last three beta builds including this one. I get a stutter every second. It looks to coincide with the beacon flashing. Ive also been getting consistent stutters with traffic that were not there before. Oh well. Always seems to be the case with these updates from my experience - at first when a new SU is in Beta its "Best Performance ever" - then as issue fixes and other updates come into the Beta it slowly gets worse. Still better than no updates but never seems quite the same for first Beta release to final Prod release.

When you run the headset at its native resolution with FR enabled, especially with Dynamic Foveated Rendering (eye tracking), it has a significant impact on performance. It will be the same with anyone else using higher end headsets because of the high number of pixels. Yes, you can go to a resolution lower than native to increase performance, but then the entire image is lower quality. With FR enabled, your sweet spot is at full resolution with the area outside it only being of lower resolution. So it’s the best of both worlds. It’s a feature most VR users were clamoring for years to get support for in MSFS. So no we do not want to have to disable it. Edited November 21, 2025Nov 21 by Gulf76

It all depends on the headroom you have left on the CPU. With GA aircraft in less populated areas, it will certainly increase fps. Not with airliners on heavy airports and with AI traffic. In these scenarios, the CPU is the precious resource. Not the GPU if you run anything above a 5080. In most cases FR is preferable. For example, the PMDG 777 works great with FR enabled, but PMDG developed a product that doesn’t unnecessarily tax the CPU. I wouldn’t take the use case of a poorly optimized plane as a con against FR. But if that is mostly what you fly, then yes, you should disable FR. And I don’t just fly GA planes over countryside. I own over 80 third party planes, helicopters, gliders, and warbirds and fly them over PG cities with Orbx and Samscene3D city packs installed. But I haven’t flown one of them that performed better with FR turned off. Edited November 21, 2025Nov 21 by Gulf76
