December 4, 2025Dec 4 Oh, Seedy just posted that SU4 is not coming today. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-beta-4-discussion-thread/737418/5011 edit: so I guess this thread is relevant for at least another day! Yay! Edited December 4, 2025Dec 4 by scotchegg i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
December 4, 2025Dec 4 But, SU4 will be so mild blowing fantastic, nobody will have minded the wait. Comparing visual option settings in SU3 and SU4: I am in SU4 BETA, but yesterday I exited BETA and then reentered the BETA again. Along the way I did a test (same flight same depart and destination and weather in all tests: got these results: SU3 using DLSS FG 2X: 74 fps and stutters near and at airports sometimes SU4 latest beta DLSS FG 2X: 83 fps and fewer stutters the (only stutters were at airports, none when just near airports). SU4 latest beta, Smooth Motion, FG OFF in MSFS settings: 102 fps zero stutters anywhere On my system Smooth Motion is way better than MSFS DLSS FG. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 As for clarity on glass screen tapes, I use handy $40 switch box to change views to a closer view of the cockpit panel glass screens. Which is so much faster than using keyboard keys and can be done by feel in VR, no need to use eyes. To save a view: throw the top toggle ON to the right and push one of nine buttons. Then throw the toggle back OFF. Now it is saved forever (custom views MSFS). To switch to any of 9 views: Don't throw any toggle, just push a button. 3x3 layout is easy to remember 1 thru 9, and access by feel. I use 4 for closeup view of screen, 2 for default flying view, 5 for landing view (MSFS provides a landing view for all planes in it's options page). Use MSFS control settings to assign what the buttons and toggles do. The switchbox will list as Generic Controller in the MSFS control settings page that lists all of your controllers. No shipping charge. Etsy is reliable. Ebay is too, but Etsy even better. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1502162573/racepro-12-function-pc-button-box 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 The other option for easy viewing glass screen tapes is TAA. But my hardware is not strong enough to run MSFS in TAA. FPS cut in half 😞 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 I always said it was tomorrow. I am always correct. Give me … one beeeelion dollars. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
December 5, 2025Dec 5 Quote Sim Update 4 is getting very close to release on your platforms! Our goal is for the full release to launch next week, but as always this is a target, not a locked-in promise, and the release timing could possibly change. December 5, 2025Dec 5 The list of SU4 updates to 'first party' aircraft looks good, particularly the Grumman Albatross; one of the finest default aircraft we've ever had in an MS flight sim. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/first-party-aircraft-update-release-notes-december-4-2025/749253 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
December 5, 2025Dec 5 And it's already available for those having this "First Party Aircraft", no ? Edited December 5, 2025Dec 5 by vbazillio Vincent B. Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

According to the MSFS2024 Marketplace, the current Albatross is version 2.2.1; last updated in August of this year. If SU4 updates the aircraft to v 1.3, I'm not sure what's going on. If SU4 updates the aircraft to v 1.3, I'm not sure what's going on. I know it can be a little confusing sometimes. I'm not sure about some of the other aircraft that were updated today, but the only Albatross version updated was the 2020 one, which went to v1.3.0. This update was to bring the 2020 version into parity with the 2024 one. The current 2024 Albatross is v2.2.6, and an update for it (v2.2.7) should come with sim update 4 when it goes public (or shortly thereafter). I will have further updates coming for both the 2020 and 2024 versions, with some fixes and new features, in the new year. Cheers! Mike Johnson - Lotus Simulations
December 6, 2025Dec 6 By the way the latest Beta Version .31 will be the final SU4 Release Version as .32. So a SU release with lots of regressions. Fine ASOBO..
