Seeing the real Air France 747-100 (F-BPVJ) cockpit at Le Bourget's Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace IRL totally reignited that fire for me which I drowned out for so long.

 

 

Those steam gauges, flight engineer station, fuel management, classic AFCS... pure analog magic that'll make PMDG's classics in MSFS 2024 hit different.

Who’s with me on this?? Who else is ABSOLUTELY LOSING IT waiting for PMDG to unleash those 747 Classics in MSFS :)

What are your favourite memories with the Queen of the Skies ? 

Oh, and for the record, the first 747 I ever went in is now a 747-100 !!!

A while ago, I recall seeing some work-in-progress images from PMDG itself of the 747-100. So, the -400 and the -100 are both (hopefully) in the near future.

I would like the -400 first, what's a SIM w/o the 744…?

Hopefully, it arrives in MSFS before my hair turns much greyer…🙂

Oh well. We’ll see.

(On my first ever 744 flight, I cannot forget standing inside the boarding zone, and staring at that huge (and bulbous) nose just outside the glass pane, and wondering, how in the world it would get up there, and hold me there…🙂…I miss that one…748 will not do…)

💯 I don’t need the 100 or 200 at all

I have zero interest in any further PMDG aircraft and certainly not in any 747.

I'm fortunate to be based at an Airport where I regularly see 747s, 757s, 767-200/300's, 777s and even A300s ! 

The 747 classic is not that dissimilar at all vs the 400 systems wise - mainly presentation wise via dialls so I'm thinking it won't be long 😉

Agree, systems-wise, the -100 is probably not much different from the -300.

However, being a visual a/c inspector...🙂..., to me, the stretched upper deck, the iconic hump (introduced in the -300 for the first time, same as in the -400), with greater number of windows (in pax models), always stood out for me in the SIM...compared to the -100...

Very true. Some 747-200's were also modified to incorporate stretched upper decks later on.
