Oh ok, so because I don't use Chaseplane (which is actually due to the fact that it's not properly compatible with TrackIR) I should "go and fly Aerofly".   Very mature and intelligent.

I use FSRealistic Pro, so I have most of the effects you refer to.  😄  I just don't need to waste $70 buying Chaseplane and FSR+plus Pro++ 😊

I'm getting strong 'Island Sim Pilot' vibes here....

errr, what?  Works just fine for me?  What is the nature of the specific issues you have?

I used to use FSRealistic Pro quite a lot but haven't for a year or so.  I've done the upgrade through Just Flight which seemed to go OK, rebooted the PC, booted up MSFS2024 but no sign of FSRealistic.  I've checked the Task Manager and the FSRealistic+ and FSRealisticWatcher programs are both running.

I'm clearly missing something or done something silly - any ideas what that might be?

 

FSRealistic is not a Window program anymore, so you won't find it in the Task Manager.
Just launch MSFS 2024 and you'll find it in your upper bar together with the other apps.

I never said I disliked it. I just don't have any need for it.

Well i just noticed that i bought the original version form FlightSim .TO and it gave me a big dicount so only cost me $9 USD! Cool... ill try it out and see if i will keep it... dont fly VR anymore so may well be worth the 9 bucks!

That's the feature I like but I don't need chase plane too, hope someday the developer launch the current FSR with this feature.

I have used TrackIR with Chaseplane  without any issues at all.

I picked up FSRealistic+ today using the lower upgrade price, and the combination with ChasePlane is fantastic. The added sounds and camera movement really bring a lot to MSFS 2024.  For me personally, ChasePlane + FSRealistic+ is now a must-have for MSFS 2024, in the same way Navigraph and TrackIR are staples in my setup.

It’s also worth saying I’m now flying almost exclusively in MSFS after spending the last year with X-Plane 12. Between add-ons like these and the ongoing upgrades to the base sim, MSFS has become a really compelling package for me again.

It was sometime ago (early MS2020 times perhaps) but there was a video on YouTube where the user showed that some of the Chaseplane camera movement effects weren't appearing when TrackIr was used. When he closed TrackIR they came to life.  I didn't suggest that Chaseplane isn't compatible - I know it is, but at the time, it wasn't a like for like representation, as using CP without TrackIR.    The same issue was present with XPRealistic in XP; some camera effects didn't occur when TIR was running (even if paused).

It may well be that TIR works flawlessly with CP in MS2024.  

As to the 'must-have' status;  well put it this way, if Chaseplane appealed to me and I already had it, I would happily upgrade to FSR+.

But with a CP purchase being required (it's not cheap) alongside FSR+, I wouldn't say that the effects it brings are worth an almost $70 dollar investment.   That's just too much IMHO.

FSRealistic+ is almost mandatory.

Nobody in the thread has said they dislike Chaseplane.....

Just that it doesn't interest them enough to have to buy it, just to get FSR+ working.

😊 My point is just that I've flown with standard FS Realistic Pro on every single flight since it was released, years ago (and the XP version).    I really value some features in it, and for me it is 'mandatory'.    But if you already have Pro, the additional features of 'Plus' aren't that convincing, when upgrading to 'Plus' involves also having to buy Chaseplane.
