A Diamond in the Rough - Aerosoft CRJ

Featured Replies

Just fired up Aerosofts CRJ V2 for a flight I've done many times in RL, KCLT to KLIT.    I've pretty much had this on the backburner for years but I finally just needed a break from endless Fenix / iFly MAX flights.    For those who don't have this one installed, I really suggest you grab it.   It was the first commercial jet released for FS2020 but after that, Aerosoft pretty much just ignored it.  That changed a year ago when they released V2.   It's a game changer.   An EFB that IMO is the equal of Fenix, systems updates, GSX integration, etc.    It's a brand-new jet.    It really is a satisfying challenge flying this.  In some ways, it's just as modern as the A320 series (and way beyond the 737), in other ways, it's old school (no autothrottle and only "predictive" VNAV).   Never realized how spoiled I was flying the A320 / 737 until I was on the approach to KLIT and had to manually manage my speed. It's a very satisfying experience to pull off a flight with no issues.     If anyone's looking for a break from flying Airbuses or Boeing's, this will do nicely (at least until we get the A220).   Check it out!

If you let speed management get away from you it's a lot of work to get everything back in control, and some of the things that happen make you think there is a glitch. My favorite commuter once I mas

I found v2 to be pretty good.  Most of the weird bugs I had with v1 were corrected.

Yes Sir. i knew. On a screen 49" with a resolution of 3840x1080, i have to zoom out quite a bit to get an overview of the cockpit without having to constantly pan the camera. That’s why there’s a problem with the small fonts. You can’t make them big enough for me to read them properly. That’s why these two aircraft are staying in my hangar.

I get horrible performance degradation with the CRJ. It becomes almost unflyable after a while. Don't have this with any other aircraft.

The CRJ still has some LNAV issues. Definetely not as bas as v1 but they're still kind of annoying.

I bought the A340-600 only because ToLiss name was attached.  Point being, I've vowed to NEVER buy an exclusive Aerosoft airplane again.  Not going near this.  I'm happy you're happy with the CRJ because my experiences have been dreadful.

I hear you, I gave up on the CRJ years back because Aerosoft pretty much ignored the dozens of issues with the initial release.  To their credit, they finally got around to fixing those problems and then added a ton of additional enhancements.  I'd love to see someone else do a completely updated CRJ because it's such a challenging, fun aircraft to fly (and it looks pretty nice too).   Much more satisfaction taxying in to the gate at KLIT than if I had flown the Bus or a MAX.

I heard Han is doing a 2024 native version of the CRJ, anyone know if thats true?

Appreciate everyone has their preferences and set ups, but that's the absolute reason I can't fly without any head tracking. These sort of issues just don't exist and it feels that much more immersive. Someone was saying the F27 is hard to fly because the DME indicator is obstructed by the gear lever when it's in the up position. But again, that's probably something you'd have to deal with in RW by just moving your head to look at it.

Great plane

On the ATR, you can also ATLGR + click on a screen to open a popup of this screen. I'm sure this is also a feature on the Aerosoft CRJ.
