iniBuilds L-1011 trailer out

Featured Replies

As I mentioned on another post this was the plane we took on our honeymoon (ATA gold and blue “runway” scheme as I don’t think the other was invented yet (1997), Milwaukee to Las Vegas and return.

Even then I realized it was very old and very cool.

And I’m retiring next week so the timing is perfect!

I tried the Tristar out at FSWeekend. I done one circuit, so not a huge test, but it seemed excellent.

  • Honestly…if you want the L1011 day one, there’s no reason for anyone to let the marketplace sway them otherwise.  The A340 experience proved that for me, and I just moved it over to INI once I could.

I think every airliner should be judged on the following criteria in order to be deemed cool:

✔️ Does it have a flight engineer?
✔️ Does it feature wood panelling in the cockpit?
✔️ Does it come with a lounge?

With those in mind, the L1011 is clearly the best possible airliner.

I will pass, Unless it comes out on the inibuilds store. I don't buy aircrafts from the marketplace. I am surprised it's a market place exclusive.

They said it will come out later on the iniStore. Then you can have it transfered from the Marketplace. That IS the only reason I am buying it on release day. Otherwise it would have been a hard pass until it showed up on the iniStore.  They did that with the A340.

I’d be kidding myself if I said I wasn’t going to buy this day 1.  It would take some kind of unexpectedly horrid early reviews for me to not buy it.

The only L1011 I can recall in the sim was the Captainsim one, I think for FSX?  I’ve always had a soft spot for this plane so I’m pretty excited…looking forward to flying it in Air Canada Ted and white, hopefully that repaint will exist before long.

My first flight when I was a baby was on a Caledonian L1011 on holiday out of Gatwick in the early 90s.

I can't wait to pick this up! What an awesome machine.

Congratulations! Retirement was certainly the best career move I ever made!

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Well, the more I see it, the more I like it.

If the auto flight engineer turns out to be fully auto, I could see myself flying it.😎

Thank you!  For us flight sim enthusiasts, retirement seems like a very good thing indeed.  I’m going to celebrate with a VFR flight around my entire home state of Wisconsin (and fly the new L-1011, of course!)

This is all about the money and MS policy, everything was deliberately controlled that way..

Definitely a day 1 purchase for me. I prefer old aircraft the modern stuff is pretty boring to be honest and I fly the 737 Maxx dor a living.... I hope INI will do a Convair model next maybe a CV340 or 880/990

ini chose the Marketplace because of the anti-piracy protections.

Other companies who don't even have their own store app manage to deal with piracy problems so I'm going to remain extremely sceptical of this claim.
