PMDG B737-700 Released

Just completed a flight from PAKT to PANC. The TO and climb was okay. About 20 mins into cruise, at 36000 ft, the AP disconnected and the auto trim went fully down. The plane nose-dived 15000 ft before I was able to recover, I had to disable the auto trim to stop it from trying to nose dive. I thought Boeing fixed this issue, a few years back when a few 737 would nose dive for no reason. However, the rest of the flight was fine. Until about 3 miles out from touchdown. All of of sudden the AP disconnected again and the plane veered left and tried to dive again. Not sure what happened it was flying the ILS approach perfectly. I did a go around and hand flew the plane back to the runway and landed without any issue. Not sure why this happened because I flew the same route yesterday in the 737-800 and I flew the route perfectly and landed perfectly. Will try another flight in the 700 later and see if the AP goes crazy again.

You need to go into the settings in the FMC, and switch Control input cancels AP (or something similar) to OFF.

I bet that's why you never had these issues in the -800; because that setting is probably already off.

The setting is to allow you to disengage the AP, with a yoke input - but it's too sensitive and leads to these uncommanded AP disconnects.

I flew a segment from EDHL to LZIB in the new -700 yesterday, and it was flawless.

I set all the Simulation preferences in the FMC to the same that I use in the -800.

I barely flew the 2020 version so to me this 2024 version looks really nice! I like my cockpits looking new especially since I'm flying the BBJ variety

Hallelujah! A new video short just dropped: Looks like mostly cuts from the longer video released a couple days ago.

  • So.... I've had my first check out of the new -700.  She's a beauty for sure.  I paid £23 upgrade price, as I owned the -700 for 2020.   For that price, I'm happy with it.  The new textures are nice b

It's "interesting” how the fuselage of this plane has a window when viewed from the outside, but when you look from the inside—for example, to set up a view or camera in Chaseplane—there's no window at all...

Does seem to be a bug. PMDG will hopefully correct at some point.

System 1: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.2GHz, 2x16GB DDR4 2600MHz CL18 RAM, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB, Seagate 2TB HDD, Windows 11 Pro 64bit, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.

System 2: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.7GHz, 2 x 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM, ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX5090 OC, 2 x 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0, Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Moza AB9 with Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle Quadrant.

So far so good here.  I've just completed a short flight in 2D and everything was as smooth as a whistle.  Later today I'll try a flight in VR on a route I recently did in the 600 version but very happy with it so far.

Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

It´s the fu****ng same almost in the whole cockpit (visually speaking).

word not allowed!.

You mean it looks as much like a 737 as the last one did?

I am slightly worried about the comments regarding VRAM messages. I do not have much to spare on my RTX 4070 Super.

Looks exactly the same inside and out. Had to double check whether I accidentally loaded into the -800, but no, I can't see any differences. It's still looking good, don't get me wrong, but if those are new textures, I'm the Emperor of China

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Totally agree, for me visually speaking the cockpit totally is the same...

I mean is the same as prior version, visually is completely exact the same inside the cockpit.

The cabin and exterior are improved, totally a waste of money IMHO.

To be fair, there is nothing actually wrong with the existing cockpit. Anyway, I was under the impression that this update was more to do with the external 3D modelling and textures.

The best marketing is that which makes it seem bigger than it really is.

Are your settings and monitor 4K?

I think PMDG will drop the price wants the run out of FOMO/Early adopter buyers. The 700 shouldn't be the same price as the 738.

Doubt that will happen.

Has anyone else tried the Alaska cargo variant? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but can't get the main cargo door to open whatever I do!
