The CAS Cub is hands-down the BEST stick and rudder airplane in MSFS.  The BEST.  And as the real J-3 is the best stick and rudder airplane that has ever been built, this works out well.  Additio

It's one of those great add-ons I never actually fly. I've a few like that. Amazing but somehow, I never seem to 'reach' for them.

also the Ants Airplanes – de Havilland Tiger Moth is great hand flyer tail dragger with loads of things to do and watch for. And IMHO a much overlooked addon.

It’s fantastic! A true jewel, and incidentally currently on sale in the Marketplace for around $12, I think. Very, very well worth it!

It's the devs only product at the moment, but they are currently working on a de Havilland Comet (quite a step up in complexity)

It's the dev's passion project and the sole focus of his work.

It's a brilliant little, 'simple' plane with lots of feature goodies.  Been out a couple of years now.

I enjoy this cub, I like the way you can scale the engine vibration.

I have my motion rig and force feedback controls all set to vibrate in sympathy with the engine, it’s very immersive.

It's an underrated addon for sure.  This came up in a different thread not too long ago.  It has the same feelings of the a2a cub for me.  It's got a lot of advanced modeling- you can even hand prop it.

As I continue to rationalize picking up the 2024 Kodiak--I had it in 2020 so it'll only be $20 and thus is more about 'hangar overload' than the price--I was researching other floatplanes last night and came across similar great reviews for the Cub. I guess this thread is a sign that I need to now pick it up! Thanks a lot @jcomm😅

Additionally, it's probably the airplane I've tried in the sim that feels the most like its real-world counterpart.  I love Cubs, and this thing does them justice.

One of the few taildraggers for MSFS that will bite you if you don't pay attention to the rudder on takeoff and landing. I'm usually let down by taildraggers that are as tame as a tricycle gear aircraft, but even with its little go-cart of an engine the CAS Cub will ground loop on you if you just smash the throttle to the firewall and get sloppy with the rudder during takeoff. Getting too complacent during a crosswind landing will also send you toward the grass (the uncut grass, since you'll surely be landing this little guy on plenty of little grass strips as intended!)

It's an absolute gem. Got it on a sale for a steal last year and finding it hard to fly anything else for bush now.

That radio, mounted on the back of the front seat, is that a realistic option? Or is it something the developer has made up for sim purposes?

Cheers, Bert
