GSX Updates

Featured Replies

I kinda like the new menu look. After exploring some of the new features, I think it's pretty cool. As for resizing the GXS screen, I was able to resize and move to where I wanted it to stay. If I could make one suggestion it would be to add a transparency slider so we can adjust the see through while using. My AAL 738 flight from KDFW gate cost me $949.5. Nice feature.

The update process is spread now between GitHub and Cloudflare in this way: Important files, those that might cause errors if you are not fully updated, the core of GSX code, it's entirely on GitHub,

There's an option in GSX settings that has been added so that you can use the "Classic menu" instead.

Good to know, thank you.

Can someone post a picture of the classic menu please? Is it small?

I ask because I am on the verge to buy the software and I hate huge menu.

Ah, thanks Steve. I did take a look to try and find something, clearly I didn't look close enough. I'll check it out, cheers.

Since the new update, GSX doesn't load properly, I get a constant rotating emblem with "Loading Menu" and nothing happens. Just before that I get all the green loading bars at 100% then the loading menu part starts. I've tried restarting Coautl multiple times, its just stuck on the loading menu part.

My usual flow when it comes to a GSX update is run the update then click check. 9/10 this avoids any issues with GSX for me. I hope next on the line in a revised installer/updater and the updater almost always causes issues.

If there is one thing I'd like changed it is a toggle for the sound of the cashregister that plays once the invoice is ready. The first time that happened was right as I lifted off the runway. I thought I had a tailstrike and wondered why that made a ding sound.

You can turn that off in Settings as well.

Unfortunately that does not solve the dead space issue, the inability to resize the menu to shrink the obscuring dead space. He could easily solve this if he cared w/o losing anything by simply redesigning the Update alert.

What is up with the GSX Internal Hot Fix update? I did the 4.0 update via the installer, and everything worked great for a change. Then I saw that a hot fix was available in the GSX app window, so I ran it. When couatl tried to restart it got suck. I waited for 15 minutes and tried to restart it several times with no luck. Then I restarted the sim and was getting GSX errors. Typical GSX update gone bad once again. Had to use the Standalone installer to fix everything. Once it was working again, I saw that a hotfix was available. I wasn’t going to fall for that trap a second time, LOL

Maybe a scream will play at the end of the month when the deduction for parts hits your wage slip 😅

Yes, it has happened to me already in v4 as well. This did fix it: open up Task Manager, close both couatl processes running, then use the Restart Couatl under the FSDT header in installed programs an voila, it reestablished the GSX menu and it worked.

@Wise87 - I had the exact same experience. There is a checkbox in GSX Settings -> Troubleshooting to "Disable hotfix notifications". I have selected that option to help avoid any further issues!

I like the new menu system and appreciate the effort thats been put into V4 but Im seeing mixed results from flight to flight. The once reliable Fenix integration now sometimes works and sometimes doesnt for reasons I cant fathom. I often get refulling but no passenger boarding and sometimes get nothing.

There seems to be a problem with the sequence not starting with the new GSX version, Any2GSX and the Fenix A320. Does anyone have the same problem or maybe a solution?
