FSLTL: Static injection only from 2026/04/30 due to lost API

Featured Replies

I think AIG has a far broader coverage of airlines and bizjets than FSLTL does. My view is the injector isn't quite as straight forward but overall, I find AIG superior in terms of models and coverage. Just my 2c. I happen to AIG models with SI or BATC so can't speak too much to how the injector itself performs versus FSLTL, but when I was using them both they seemed similar.

OK, we're getting into unhappy territory here with accusations of theft being tossed about, so I'm locking this one down. If data is made available on a publicly-accessible website with no access

Actually, there is: PSXT (free) + RealTraffic (~$9/mo)

First and most important - Flightradar24 and FSLTL never had an agreement. FSLTL has been steeling Flightradar24 data for many years without permission which is breaking the terms and conditions.

Sorry for the dumb question, but once this live traffic data is not available in FSTL, what will be left ? Will there still be some "regular" AI traffic for liners and GA based on FSTL models, or nothing at all ?

First post;

In the end, in terms of the FSLTL injector, we'll probably end up in one of these outcomes:

- We find a no-cost provider of live data for use with the FSLTL injector

- We find a low-cost provider of live data users would purchase on their own for use with the FSLTL injector

- The injector stays static aircraft only

- The injector as a whole dies

__**Why?**__
In our discussions with FR24, we had hoped a low-cost option/plan for their current for-cost API might be made available for users to purchase directly from FR24 that could then be used in the FSLTL injector.  Unfortunately, that option never came to be, and the normal pricing for the FR24 API is very cost prohibitive.  Some of our estimates were in the range of over $20 for a single 3 hour sim flight with 20 AI aircraft in range.  That just isn't going to work.  There's a reason most of the big paid ATC/traffic injectors out there for MSFS2020/2024 don't use live data natively... its expensive!

What API did FSLTL use? Or, in other words, what data was provided by FR24?

Is it just the flightplans, e.g. airline, type, arrival/departure times, possibly gates? Or, is it also real time position data (adsb) for the exact recreation of every movement?

Because comparing the movements on a big airport and comparing them with the FR24 live screen, I can recognize many distinct planes (type/airline are matching) but runway usage, taxiway routes and even gates are different than in real live. So I assume, the injector did anyway not recreate the exact real world operations.

This was not based on flightplans. This was based on what airplane/airline is parked, is taking off from XXXX at this (live) moment and where is its destination (arriving traffic the same of course). This data was given to the MSFS own traffic engine and MSFS is doing the rest. That's why exact gate positions taxiway routes and takeoff rwys can be different from time to time (to real life). Cause MSFS is doing the actual 'movement' of the planes, decides which rwy is open, etc. I guess FSTraffic (Justflight - payed product) is doing the same but not with live traffic but with flightplans (from some years ago). But MSFS always handles all the aircraft in the end.

BATC for example also uses flightplan databases (not up to date too), but handles the traffic in MSFS by itself (so MSFS has nothing to do with all the traffic). It is kind of a must, because MSFS doesn't know what BATC is doing. So BATC has to handle all traffic it 'talks to' - without using the MSFS traffic engine.

I sat at a couple of large airports recently, checking that my FSLTL was correctly installed and working, and aircraft were taking off on completely different runways to what was shown on FR24. I thought it might be a delay of 15 mins or more, but it seemed not.

I later found that if I changed airports and reset the injector, the models & liveries would often be from the old airport. After completely restarting it, it always corrected itself and reset back to local aircraft & liveries.

I already made a decision for them. 😀

After installing & testing AIG Models & the TC with MSFS 2024 SU4, I decided to delete the FSLTL fleet & the Injector.

The AIG Traffic Fleet and installation process has come a long way. The models load the sim faster, they are easier on fps, and work even better with BATC than the FSLTL models. I don't see floating GA at airports and the models are in color and not white.

Now I understand why every YT video I ever saw on AIG kept saying, the installation process was worth it.

I am thinking now to either install AIG or buy FS Traffic from Justflight. I read about FS Traffic that it displays only a very low amount of airborne traffic enroute.

How does AIG perform in that matter? Does it show a descent amount of traffic when you are in cruise?

Kind regards

As indicated above more than 3000 flights, that is much more than any other AI traffic software, so in some areas at certain times it can indeed get very busy!

I tried to restore the previous default FS24 aircrafts traffic options, it shows more parked aircrafts from the installed FSLTL folder, apparently without fps or vram losing.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

What's their GA AI like? Not used AIG in ages so a lot has changed since then (including the installation faff!).

It's a whole new world. 😀

You need to give AIG another try. I was reluctant to try it again, but the installation is now a breeze. Just time consuming.

I created a thread that will help anyone that wants to try it.

Because traffic in FSLTL still uses the default ATC and traffic engine, so it goes to the runway the sim tells it to go to.

The default ATC doesn't know what runways the real airport is currently using, It just chooses the runways based on the current wind direction.

It should choose runways that take off into the wind, so if the real airport is currently operating in tailwind take off you won't see that in the sim.

To be honest...
I wouldn't see any difference between 'live' traffic and 'static/bgl' traffic.
I don't have a clue what the real world schedules are, so I don't mind which type of traffic I see at airports.
But that is just my opinion 😉

I share your opinion 👍

All I really want from AI traffic is a conceivable amount of traffic, in the sim with me.

I'd use the default AI traffic, if it were possible to only get GA traffic, without airliners.  Can't find a way of doing that yet.

what injector does AIG use?

nevermind, it's static based on flightplans bgl's... i used to make these myself back in fsx...
