I'm going to comment because I had access to both the Phenom and the Sovereign prior to release (I guess due to me being good at painting or something hehe). The Phenom is a bit higher end than the So

At least we get to see it flying in A330 Driver's video. Blu's video is just a 13 minute look at the model.

I thought at first he was pulling our leg because it looks like the Phenom 300.

Many thanks! Would you share a brief TL;DR, please?

He had the developers on the stream, so it was a showcase, rather than a review. It's looks fantastic to me. Sounds seem fantastic - at last a jet with nice loud avionics fans! Very high quality and lot's of features and animation, especially on the outside model. The only thing that stood out to me was the power on take off. Initial climb 8300fpm. That seems insane, but if someone in the know tells me that's what these Sovereigns do on initial climb, fair enough!

I didn't watch the video really. But initial climb is around 200 kias but it quickly changes to 250 under 10k, and then above 10k climb speed is 254 then mach .65. So at 250 kias you'll see 5000-7000 depending on weight. That bleeds off into the high teens and low 20s where you settle around 3000-4000 fpm. High 20s and 30s basically 1500-2500 or so. Those straight wings are meant for lift (they're not totally straight I think 16 degrees or so), but that's why it's quite a bit slower in cruise than, say, the C750. But it's also capable of vastly shorter runways due to the straight wing, massive flaps, speed brakes and reversers. I want to say the landing runway needs to only be 2600 ft or something hehe. Takeoff needs a bit more than 3000 ft.

I’ll be interested to see how this measures up to both the Longitude and Phenom across the board (and Lear, as its still a biz jet after all).

I do like glass cockpit biz jets but I’m not sure if this is different enough to entice me.

Now, if it has fantastic physics and everyone raves about it at least as much as the Phenom, then I’ll certainly be paying attention.

Didn't know this was in development. In general it is good development that these new developers spawn and challange with new features.

But the main questionis : when?

And I’ll just follow and do whatever you do , it seems to work 😄

For those who weren't aware, Skyward Simulations aren't a new developer. They've had an excellent Diamond DA50RG for sale on Orbx and the Marketplace for over 2 years now. It was their proof of concept product, for making aircraft addons in MSFS (and subsequently 2024).

This project is in a completely different league of course.

Their DA-50RG is good, I wouldn't say it was excellent and it hasn't been updated in over two years, despite many flaws. I didn't realise it was the same developer and now that I know it is, I am a little less excited to be honest.

What are the flaws? (Apart from the terrible view out the front, which is realistic for the real DA50).
