Beautiful!

Once I found out that the upgrade Longitude that I was given to me by ASOBO was not native v2024, I knew I was going to get this bird.

Let's just hope that it's affordable. The rich are getting richer and the poor.... well, you know the rest.

Same here. I wouldn't mind even paying high prices provided it has nice thick manual (like in DCS A-10C, Xtreme Prototype, Black Square, etc), speed brakes, reversers, nice large readable instruments (usually Garmin glass and analogs), panel without large blank areas or missing instruments (eg. Learjet 35), responsive tech support (Just Flight), and all functioning button, lights, windows, doors, etc.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

How and why does it feel "rushed"?

I have been flying the Default Asobo Citation Longitude a lot recently.

How do the cockpit textures compare to the Asobo default Citation Longitude?

I'm going to comment because I had access to both the Phenom and the Sovereign prior to release (I guess due to me being good at painting or something hehe).

The Phenom is a bit higher end than the Sovereign - but visually they are actually pretty close. Both interiors could have been better imo.

However, and you may have seen on the FSReborn discord, FSR had to lower the clarity/resolution based on complaints from Xbox users. This sets a precedent that I'm actually concerned about for the future of this sim. We know console is the favored platform from the business end... I'm frustrated that the image clarity and aggressive LOD that I can run on PC keeps getting lowered in favor of console users. There's simply NO way a 600 dollar Xbox can look as good as my 4000 dollar PC. (And mine's mid range now!) I didn't spend that kind of money to have my sim settings lowered and lowered and lowered by Asobo

ANYWAY, back on topic....

I prefer the Sovereign's sounds. The systems go to the Phenom, but only slightly - just because you can't see something doesn't mean it's not being modelled. Both Raul and John went really deep with the Phenom and Sovereign, respectively. IMO, the Sovereign has a slight leg up for the flight model - but both are exceptional.

Both aircraft were also in production for quite a while - Both are and will receive further updates. Even though some of us here might prefer a product to come out bug free - I just don't think it's really possible anymore...especially with the sales volume MSFS devs are seeing. These aren't the FSX days hehe. Many many people have a copy of these addons and it's impossible to catch every little bug. (or every big bug - cause those do happen).

Neither the Phenom nor the Sovereign's interior textures match the Longitude. Most addons aren't matching them. Asobo contracted with a third party studio - Lakshya if you care - to produce super high end models and textures for the Longitude, CJ4, Cirrus, TBM etc. Only a few payware addons match that quality imo.

As I described above "good luck" panning camera inside the cockpit from FMC to EFB to Pilot view. There are no preset cameras view like in all other add ons (except CSS 737). This is no go for me. You fly single pilot jet you need to move quickly between views - that is my standard.

Also when you select Sovereign to fly the icon show MSFS logo but not the plane. Those are little stuff but tell you volume about quality focus.

I'm not sure abut sound yet. APU sound was very low to what I remember from actual jet. Also there are zero documentation or links on tutorials. Good luck exploring check lists LOL

I wasn't a rampie but I frequented the ramp in Duluth very often - taking photos or saying hi to pilots. The APU to me seems nice and loud like it should be.

It is true about the manuals though - they are a WIP. Checklists are in the G5000 home page OR on the EFB. Thankfully it's pretty straightforward and similar to the Longitude for startup - it's very automated. The CAS basically tells you what you need to do. You don't need bleed air from the APU to start though - it's all electric vs pneumatic on the Longitude. Don't forget the control lock which is by your right but cheek LOL.

Oh no - you had me at "exceptional" 😆

Would you expand on that a bit, please? Feel free to compare/contrast to the Phenom or Longitude (I know you'll be fair 🙂).

I mean, just about the last thing I need right now is another addon, but if the Sov is more or less as good as the Phenom, I want to reward the extra effort a good flight model takes.

p.s.: as a passing aside, it's remarkable to me that an addon like the Sovereign sells for just a couple dollars more than a recently released major airport(!). I hope their volume is HIGH!

Thanks Ryan - That's interesting, I was not aware of that.

Me too, the majority of my add ons are bought for their handling , and never make it much further than the circuit or local area and never get the autopilot turned on. I usually start engines running on the runway in VR so things like flushing toilets and Ryan’s excellent paints are wasted on me as I never see them.

I must admit the phenom had me doing a full start and a flight down to Guernsey and back though which I quite enjoyed.

Anyway, the phenom feels great to fly and if the sovereign is even better I’ll grab it for $30
