Dear Captains! @everyone

It's time to get your pilot licenses and start the engines of the entire 737 Classic family.

I'd like to remind you that those of you with an active temporary license or $120 family license have automatically gained access to the 737-300 and 737-400 models. Those who want to permanently purchase any individual variant can do so through our Launcher or partner stores. Keep in mind that purchasing any individual variant will lock you out of any of the temporary or family package options. The temporary license will remain available via the CSS Launcher only from this day forward.

Please read the aircraft documentation carefully!

If you have any difficulties registering, please contact our team here, by email, or via the website contact form. We are using our new CDN, but downloading may take some time, as we expect our servers to be under high load.

Thank you for your patience, and enjoy the 737 Classic!

Sure you can setup that idea in your head about their mentality. I just think on the list of priorities it's rather low considering the state of the aircraft. On the otherhand, when I suggested to the

  • Man, that's too bad about some of the issues. I was looking forward to getting this since I'm an old JustFlight/Wilco Classic 737 fan (Still have the box and CD) from the FS9/FSX days and I miss thos

Really stoked especially with the IA partnership, he did fantastic on the maddog so no concerns here. Now let’s see if CSS can squash the bugs and I can relive my Wilco days proper.

I can't download update or install new 737. Download is super slow, and I'm ending getting same error message

Personally, I would love a good 737 Classic.

But to be able to look at all the new quality improvements, I'd need to get past the fact that the last 2 times I tried this (with the monthly subscription), there were still no standard key assignments working for any of the autopilot functions.

Has that been addressed yet? Clearly I don't mean every function, as there is no standard key assignment for VNAV for example. But as a minimum, to enjoy an aircraft, I need the heading bug, AP Master, altitude +/- and vertical speed, binded to the MSFS assignments.

Does this product offer this now @MPL ?

I have to ask, why aren’t you able to set these things with your mouse? Genuinely curious.

I have honeycomb bravo, and I like to use knobs instead of mouse. It's more convenient, so I share the sentiment.

There are no standard key assignments for anything, really. Can’t even bind throttle controls using FSUIPC in the basic way, or the autopilot disconnect. The inability to use the mouse wheel to change switch positions is also rather annoying. At least the iFly has the option to switch between the ridiculous way and the normal way.

There are some neat features and it looks like a nice change of pace, but good lord, trying to get the thing in the air has been an absolute nightmare, starting with that CSS launcher…which has thankfully been improved as of today.

Maybe I overlooked something here: Didn´t they also plan to release freighter versions of the 737? Or will they be released later on?

Well that's a disappointment.

The assignments were promised on Discord in January.

They seem to make an assumption that every simmer is happy making fiddly mouse adjustments for everything. They aim for high fidelity but miss a basic capability that is provided with every other addon aircraft in MSFS, that I'm aware of.

For anyone, not just those who use any hardware, but even just those who prefer to use key presses for things like AP modes, this product remains utterly irrelevant with this shortcoming. @MPL

It's not that I can't set them with the mouse. It's a preference but a well-established one. If I had to twiddle a heading bug by 270 degrees with a mouse, on a tiny clickspot, I would find a different hobby.

The question is not, why can't I use the mouse, the question is why - when every other addon aircraft works with the key assignments for these basic functions - does this one not?

Your question is similar to asking someone using a joystick, why they can't use the keyboard to fly the plane.

What is the status of the classics? Are they mature enough or still buggy?

I decided to take a chance.

The planes look great. But...

I've started from cold and dark, and tried the "ready for start" and "ready to takeoff" settings as well.

So far I've attempted 6 flights, and each one ended with me running off the end of the runway at over 200 knots - I can't make the aircraft rotate.

I tried a flight with 600lbs of fuel - finally managed to get it off the ground. At 2500ft I engaged the autopilot - and the aircraft promptly flew straight into the gound.

I've run out of ideas of things to try. I've been playing with flightsims since the 80's, and I honestly can't remember ever having this much trouble with a payware plane.

I'm open to suggestions! Also wondering if I'm the only one in this predicament!

And they were delivered, as evident https://css.aero/knowledge-base/aircraft-faq/keybinds

That's good 👍 (I was commenting in response to someone above who said the key binds still weren't active).

However, whilst I can see key binds on that list for the buttons (eg. HDG SEL), nothing is listed for the knobs (eg.. HEADING BUG INC and HEADING BUG DEC) ?

It's the heading bug that is the most fiddly to operate by mouse. Could you kindly confirm whether the Heading, speed, altitude and vertical speed increase and decrease work with key binds?

Surely you didn't go to the trouble of adding some key binds, but omiting hte knobs, which all have standard MSFS assignments (eg. VERTICAL SPEED REF INC, etc)?

Call me an word not allowed, but I tried a 7th flight.

Set up exactly the same as all the previous ones. Only loaded 20 passengers, and actually got off the ground at the calculated V speeds.

Autopilot engaged... following heading, and VS. Turned to intercept the nav course (I didn't have a SID programmed) and lined it up. Engage LNAV... aircraft does a 360. Entered a Direct-to - as I probably should have. The aircraft now flew about 70 degrees away from the planned course. Then decided that 360's are more fun.

Okay. Back to PMDG and Fenix.

This baby just isn't ready for prime time - at least on my system it isn't.
