I should figure out which version my local Coasties fly so I can start with that.

I haven’t cracked the manual as yet, but I’m interested in the diffs between the MH and “regular” version as Taog himself said they’re significant. I’m hoping that’s true, and we’re not getting largely cosmetic “variants”.

As I don't fly helicopters very often that's too much for me. I may pick it up in some future sale.

Yeah, but it’ll likely be by far the best and most capable helo in the game for awhile. So, I’m willing to pony up.

I own all of Taog’s helis, HPG 145 and 160, Flyinside Bell, etc. I feel like the price is too high. It may be a great release, but unless you have a personal affection for the Dauphin, I just don’t see the appeal of it for that price compared to let’s say the 500C or HPG’s.

So true, dat. Having followed the Dauphin chat on their Discord channel and seeing all the features and options they were stuffing into it, I was actually thinking this might be a few shekels more. Particularly given the rising costs of pizza, gas and yes, even beer!

Like you said in your other post, I've also been putting off other purchases while waiting for this. Which has been exceptionally difficult to do with some of the other stuff that's come out recently, but this is the addon that has me totally stoked!!

I know that the price can be a "problem" but you are getting two almost completely different helicopters, the AS365 with an three axis autopilot and the HH65 with a four axis autopilot and SAR modes. This helicopter is in the midle of the old and modern school, you can fly both in SAS mode or in ASE mode (like ATT) with or without upper modes.

I am not trying to convince you, as you said if you don't like the Dauphin is difficult to spend that kind of money on it. This afternoon there are going to be two streamings showing the product in YT, the first one that I shared in this post is from a Dauphin pilot with more than 6.000 hours on it, maybe he can convince you 😉

What I saw this past months in their Discord is that they are a very pasionate team and I want to help them economicaly buying this product, that way they can keep creating awesome products, right now they are the only hope creating good helicoptes for MSFS.

I hope that they sell a lot of copies and Microsoft sees that there is an interest in helicopters and improve their ones because almost all that come with the simulator are a joke (especially the 225).

Yes, the AS365 has three axes autopilot and the HH65 has four axes autopilot, both work with TDS and PMS 750 and the 530 from MSFS.

I like to replicate flights in my locality, I'm so weak, I've just realised that The air ambulance that lands fairly regularly right next to my house on the park opposite for the local hospital is a AS365 Dauphin. One has just landed. Now I'm tempted to purchase the addon.

The HPG’s are dead men walking and (IIRC), have never been updated for v2024.

and I was never a fan of their physics in the first place. And yes, I understand they’re heavily SAS’d, etc.

Flying the also heavily SAS’d helos in DCS World is a much more natural experience.

The other helos like the H500 & 206’s are relatively simple “stick n rudder” helos

The attraction of the Dauphin is that it’s an advanced helo like the S76, but without the foibles of that addon.

It’ll be interesting to see how well it stacks up against the MilTech Seahawk. Based on my experience with both devs, my moneys on Taog’s.
