FBW Dev Update: Introducing the Native MSFS 2024 A380X

Performance improvements???

The performance even in 4K is a complete joke! Even worse than the latter version!

One of the worst fps hogs I have ever came across! Even worse than ini Tristar in the state it was released, and that says it all...

I'll be very interested to hear people's initial feedback about this new native 2024 model. The previous (2020 port) was absolutely disastrous on my system. Not just VRAM; FPS, stutters and artifacts too.

But if the native build addresses the core of the previous issues, this will be a real milestone.

So please, bleeding edge early adopters, let us know how it is!

You do realise this is for free right and they do this in their own time? Just chill out and opt for a different a380 provider if you don't like the free one... plenty of 380s inbound.

I had dabbled with the A380 previously in 2020 and 2024. It wasn't all that amazing but functional. Just downloaded it now and doing a quick flight. I had some conflicting keybinds on the Honeycomb Bravo that I needed to adjust otherwise the engines would not start. Overall, the performance for my system is amazing. I'm running the DLSS enabler mod for 3x FG on my 4090, and getting 110+ fps on the ground when it's locked at 117 fps. The systems seem to behaving so far. Still doing my short 2 hour hop to see how it is when I land at VHHH. At the end of the day, it's a super steep price of free... so just test it and see if you like it. If you don't, you're out a couple hours and press the uninstall button.

64GB Trident Z 6400MHz DDR5 - Gigabyte 4090 GAMING OC 24G
10 x 120mm Lian Li UNI fans - Lian Li OD11XL Case - Corsair HX1500i PSU

Just tested it, indeed the performance gain are very impressive! It definitely performs better than the A350 on my rig

Not on my end, I'm getting noticeable improvements in performance.

Maybe you downloaded the wrong version. Make sure you've switched to MSFS2024 in the installer and have selected the development branch.

3060tu/8Gb, 32Gb RAM here and with RW Profiles EGNT it performs waaaaay better than the 2020 version. Impressive.

It flies very nicely too.

If you’re flying the 4K or 8k version, it’s the v2020 addon.

I just did my usual hand flying session around the (very large) pattern and then to a nearby (very large) airfield.

I had no noticeable performance issues

My completely A380-inexpert off the cuff impressions:

rather pleasant to hand fly

Doesn’t seem to have enough drag. Very difficult to slow down even when fully configured.

A bit wallowy at slow speeds, but I’m flying like a 737. Entirely possible it needs more speed on final.

A bit “pitchy”, too. Not “twitchy”, per se. But it didn’t feel like the AFCS was damping things enough…?

Take everything I say with at least TWO pinches of salt. It’s likely I didn’t have something set properly and I certainly don’t know anything about flying Moby Dick!

But all in all, first impressions are good!👍

I’d love to hear from someone who’s Airbus proficient in how well all the blinky lights and switchy button thingys work.

Appreciate it's free but I'll pay for the Ini when it comes out as it's systems are somewhat more complete.

A team made this for free. There are about 380 million different ways to say what you said in a better way.
