If you are playing on PC, outdated packages in your community folder may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior.

If you suffer from stability issues or long loading times, move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title.

Stability & Performance

  • Improved handling of texture mip streaming quality during high memory pressure conditions.

  • Improved terrain degradation when memory is getting low.

  • Fixed various crashes and improved memory usage.

Glass Cockpits

  • Fixed an issue with the electrical system that caused some avionics & systems to think that a circuit had been powered off periodically causing some reboots and loss of function.

Career

  • Mission availability times now take runway lighting systems at both the departure and arrival airports into account, allowing missions to start or end at night when adequate lighting is available.

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed burn ground effect in firefighting missions.

  • On PlayStation 5, fixed an issue that would prevent to launch heavy cargo missions.

Traffic

Air Traffic

WASM API

  • Fixed base address for virtual allocs of WASM modules linear memory on PS5 (avoids crash with the Aerostar 600)

  • Fixed WASM failures on PS5 when modules have been built with SDK 1.6.9 and higher (avoids crashes with the 2024 version of the ATR)

  • Added support for dynamic VFS on-demand files to avoid using too much memory when accessing streamed files through WASI

JS API

  • Fixes swapped parameters in new JS map listener weather radar methods added in SU5.

Wonder if they fixed any of the sound lag issues when stuff is loading in?

I had over 1500 hours in 2020 before switching over to 2024 and not once did I have that issue.

Glad to know it's not just me. Here I was thinking I was the only one experancing this from time to time on load.

"Fixed burn ground effect in firefighting missions."

I'm glad they finally fixed that at last.

Its soooo annoying! I clear my Nvidia cache once per week too (heard that is a cause). I dont experience it on every flight, but usually hear it at least once.

Have you tried disabling any audio devices you don't use? If you go to the Windows Control Panel -> Sound, you can right click any playback and recording device you don't use and disable. I remember seeing this fixing the audio issues for some people... I personally haven't had any audio issues since SU4.

Hopefully this means SU6 beta will be soon :)

I wonder what all is under the hood of this update. 2.6GB for these release notes dont look right 🙈

It's the stable version and not beta right?

It updated for me, try restarting steam, that usually kicks it in the butt to get going.

On Steam it was only 371MB.

Do you have it on MSstore and encrypted? That might effect the size, I don't have any evidence, just based on experiences in other places, but I imagine since they're encrypted they have to update entire chunks instead of just individual files.

Yeah not showing for me yet either via Xbox version

Hopefully this helps cause the last SU5 beta has been awful for performance. Tons of memory popups with almost any addon I use. And sadly that's been with lower TLOD (200 or less) and textures set to HIGH

I've got a decent card with 16GB vram (RTX 4080)
