July 31Jul 31 Hi GuysAs a long term FSX/P3D user. I find myself these days flying more and more in Xplane 12. I have a relatively simple set up at the moment just using the Zibo mod and better pushback with the default airports and textures. I am now looking for an AI traffic package and not really sure what is best to go for.I tried the live traffic route a couple of years ago and whilst i was impressed with what i could see out of the cockpit the planes on the ground would do silly things like doing a 360 on pushback. I am looking for something relatively easy to set up, good on framerates and something that gives me a pretty good representation of AI Traffic.Any recommendations?kind regardsDaz My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
July 31Jul 31 Traffic Global by Justflight was my best option so far. Learning to fly gliders since 1980Stopped using flightsims for good since early August 2026, after 34 yrs using some really great specimens... If I'm asked to name the preferred one, after all these years, MSFS 2024 is my answer without hesitation.(No desktop :-// after the last one crashed for good, so no simming, but I keep polling AVSIM - my main ludic activities spot since around 2006...)
July 31Jul 31 Traffic Global. I’m not a real stickler about real world flight paths but TG fill my airports with some very nice and true to life AI traffic. Easy to install and trouble free. Edited July 31Jul 31 by Patco Lch Vic green
July 31Jul 31 Alas Traffic Global is a Windows product and not workable with Linux. At the moment it is Live Traffic or nothing for a linux user like myself - I find it flaky - can produce very nice outcomes or do really dumb stuff now and then. Have removed it for the time being - due to addon conflicts and scripts which rely on external connnections via Live Traffic and these have always been problematic for various reasons (hey after all it is freeware not payware)

August 1Aug 1 I also updtae Dazzys AI traffic pack for xp12. only airlines and limited but has enough to keep skys busy, 10 or less is good number or affects FPS , they also interact with xplane ATC. Hes supposedly got some GA planes but he has not sent them to me yet
August 1Aug 1 For what it's worth, I use WT3. Very easy to install and use, however some paints could use updating and there is no MAX available. He is working on WT4 which I am sure will address those things. He is very active in his discord. Coming from P3D I sure miss AIG AIM but it is what it is. All of the other things that X-Plane offers trumps not having AIG. system i9 10850K NVidia RTX3090 24GB Samsung SSD980 m.2 1TB (x2) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD Seagate 2TB external drive Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB SSD Asus B460M-PLUS Mobo 32GB GSkill DDR4 3000mhz Ram using P3D v5.3
August 1Aug 1 I just started using LiveTraffic as I I have a Navigraph sub. Navigraph uses flightradar24 traffic to inject in the sim (I actually sub to that too when I'm sat at Biggin hill cafe plane watching).Interaction with ATC seems non-existent and occasionally I'll get planes stuck on taxi ways but in the air I love that they fly the same SIDS/STARS that I do I need to keep separation. Despite the lack of ATC guidance I'm impressed that ATC will regularly give me a plane to look for that's close to me. Look out the window and there it is, the IRL flight livery 500 feet above same airway!I miss the AIG stuff in P3d for sure, but like the OP I've been in XP all this year so far except to fly the PMDG 747 in P3d. August 2Aug 2 The biggest problem with AI Traffic addons in Xp12 is indeed the fact that they aren't controlled by the sim ATC...Using the default AI Traffic is no option for me because it hammers even more my desktop, and I already struggle to simply rum Xp12 with Traffic Global, using default ATC (which is not that bad after all) and keep CPU / GPU temps bellow 75ºC :-//Maybe one day they find a way to model default or addon AI traffic more efficiently and integrated with ATC. August 5Aug 5 LiveTraffic for me. It's free and some feeds are free, so I'm not complaining. Edited August 5Aug 5 by Bjoern 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
August 6Aug 6 Update to my earlier post. Although default Xp12 ATC does not interact with LiveTraffic planes it DOES detect them and clears YOU around THEM if not the other way round. As well as warning you when they are close to you in flight if they are taking off/landing you will need to wait for them. For example today leaving RCQC Penghu Taiwan I was asked to hold short (no reason given). I looked to my left and indeed an ATR was on final. I switched to the ATR camera via LT and saw the landing and my plane holding short. It landed then got stuck on runway (that does not normally happen- maybe waiting for atc to give taxi instructions but it could not?)After a minute I opened LT status panel and made the plane NOT visible then immediately I got the clearance for take off. So ATC was definitely aware of the ATR if not able to communicate with it!I feel we are SO close to getting it good. Russell Gough SE London

Could be that the real crew simply switched their transponder to STBY or ALT OFF after landing. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
August 6Aug 6 Commercial Member Traffic Global is full of bugs (aircraft flying under the ground, through the mountains, etc etc), so I use World Traffic 3. WT3 AI doesn't slam onto the runway, they land pretty nicely, they use SIDs and STARs, you can adjust airport operation (active runways), etc etc. Much smaller margin to be annoyed by AI, like I was with Traffic Global. Truth to be told, WT3 traffic must be started manually, and that is why community prefers TG probably, no matter the bugs.
