That was meant to be sarcasm. Of course I don't like to see people affected by severe weather events, events which have been happening for millions of years BTW.

The video in question, along with many others, are desperately trying to directly relate this strong El Nino to the forbidden subject. I've seen several videos and articles attempting to make this dubious connection. The folks involved in this mass propaganda, many of whom have a lot of money to gain from it, try pulling this same stunt every year whenever there's any severe weather. I'm just sick of it.

Now some of these same people who've been telling us the world is going to end for years are dead silent about all the coal power plants being built and brought out of retirement to power their industry and data centers. This makes it crystal clear that they never really believed their own fear porn. It's pure hypocrisy, and all about money.

Just ask a former President, who bought a 12 million dollar palace near the coast of a low elevation island and had huge underground natural gas storage tanks installed, how worried he is about the forbidden subject, even though he preached and virtue signaled to the rest of about it for years.

The video isnt doing that. It simply states that this extreme event is in addition to a world we KNOW is warming.

We aren't going to be able to stop it Urgent Siesta, but we can mitigate it by eliminating fossil fuels. The man made effects blend with the natural effects such as adding carbon to the lower atmosphere. You can't differentiate between natural warming and man made effects. You can only measure the amount of carbon we spew into the atmosphere and feel the results. As far as getting the rest of the world to cooperate, that's a different story.

Industrialists don't see past this year's bottom line. Who cares what happens to the planet after I am dead? Mine more coal. Drill more oil, Cut down more trees.

Eliminate fossil fuels? Well, when exactly? Immediately? Next year? Maybe in 10 or 15 years like many have preached with "net zero" 2035 and 2040 while they travel around the world in private jets to attend conferences?

If you phase out fossil fuels within 10 or even 15 years, the world economy will collapse and we'll all be living in a miserable depression. You clearly have no idea just how much fossil fuels factor into our modern economy - they're pretty much a critical requirement, not a luxury that we can cavlierly discard because we don't like them. I'm not saying this a great thing, just stating it as a fact.

We need to continue to develop nuclear power, both fission and fusion, while we utilize the enormous resources we have in a more environmentally friendly way, like clean natural gas and clean coal. We can also practice better conservation by making more fuel efficient engines, power plants, and electric vehicles. Yes, I support EVs; just don't want them being mandated. Lastly, solar and wind have their place and should be utilized where practical, but they alone cannot replace fossil fuels at this time. The math proving this has been done by several engineers and scientists, and their work can be found online.

Like I said, when I see the Greens building nuclear power plants, I’ll believe it’s possible.

And the ONLY way to “get rid of fossil fuels” in a meaningful way is to bring China and India to heel. It literally doesn’t matter what the rest of us do if they’re not doing the same.

Yep. And One of the ignored issues with EV’s is the enormous upfront environmental cost of all the batteries, plus the “disposal” at the end of their rather short useful life.

Aren't you forgetting the country that's the biggest per capita consumer of fossil fuels and also has the biggest per capita carbon footprint in the world here?
