2.5 bridges/extrusions fix vs 2.4
The fix probably wasn't in the extrusions.spb, that just stores different types of bridges. The fix is in how it is rendered.

Increasing AI waiting time
That would be a feature I'd like to see in a config file, some advanced configurations to better tune the finicky AI.

Thoughts of a customer
Its a bit of a misnomer to call any FS add-on company "big". The biggest of them (Aerosoft, Orbx, etc) are still individuals working from home in their spare time. There aren't any FS add-on companies with offices or full time staff.

Prepar3D v2.5 Development Update
Agree with Rob's comments. Just because an issue has not been resolved does not mean that all the testers involved are simply blind to it. Testers don't make fixes. Testers don't get a say in what gets fixed. Their involvement starts and ends with writing down what they have seen and passing on that information. One might be amazed at how much feedback was ignored during the FSX testing process.

EU threatens flightsim developers - New EU VAT-regulation is coming in 2015
If this is a large threat, shouldn't other developers headquartered in the EU be complaining as well? So far I've only seen FSAddon make note of this. Aerosoft and SimMarket are both based in the EU I believe.

UTX USA out for P3D
That's aerial imagery with autogen on top, a very time and storage expensive task. Especially if you want to recolor it for multiple seasons. The time it takes to hand place a city of autogen is enormous, very few automated tools will produce a similar result even with great source data. What Scenery Solutions is doing is using data that has information on building placement and vegetation to generate autogen and then touching it up by hand so it doesn't look as sparse as most automated building/veg autogen placement does. Anyway it is entirely different than landclass tiles + vector roads/rivers/etc. like what covers most of the world. Still no way to do that without having roads and houses interfere.

UTX USA out for P3D
Underlying ground texture roads will always be an issue. If you remove the roads from the landclass tiles there will still be houses cut off by roads and none of the buildings will correspond to roads. It's an inherent design flaw.

nVidia 344.75 ... no mention of Prepar3D ...
Have more options available through things like nVidia inspector. Force things like AA

I need some help for Palm Springs....
The way Orbx works, Jarrad isn't the lead dev on the project he is the only developer thus the one with the knowledge on how to support his product. And although it seems everybody here is waiting with bated breath, it doesn't look like any lifetime bans have occured.

Will global vector EVER get beaches on the Outer Banks?
Open a support request so that the Vector team so it can be noted for the next patch

What ORBX will be doing, with pricing, from P3D v3.0 and onwards..
I would reckon that if there is no fee to port, to a simulator two generations newer than the one originally purchased for, the products will not be ported at all.

Snake river looks dull compared to orbx videos?
Did you run all three installers for KJAC?
-
What is the native ORBX-G texture resolution for P3D?
1024px or 1m/px

FSX automatic quality adjusting.
You should definitely have SP1 and SP2 installed, they fix all sorts of things and improve performance. What's happening is that your CPU can't keep up with everything and so it loads a lower resolution mip-map of the ground textures since those require less memory and processing power. The "Global Texture Resolution" slider controls how large the largest texture FSX can load is, at maximum it is 1024x1024, no impact on your ground textures. You'll still need to turn down your settings, I'd disable AI altogether since it is very heavy on the CPU. Beyond that... FSX running on a low speed Pentium D using integrated graphics with 1GB of memory of Windows XP is just a shaky prospect in general.

Removing products
...was that even necessary? Or do you have an axe to grind? When was the last time a post from somebody getting banned even showed up here after all the rabble-rousing died down a few years ago?

Tesselation and photoscenery
Tessellation is done at the mesh-level of the sim. Photoscenery should not be a determining factor.

How can I get Monterey?
Hard drive storage space is down to about $0.03/GB. I welcome developers using new techniques, higher resolution textures, and more. A 3TB drive can be had for about $100 now so bring on the 4096!!

FSX / ESP licensing to Lockeed Prepar3D totally halted the evolution of flightsim
Uh oh it's time for big-bad-Lockheed again. For years flight simmers moaned and groaned that Microsoft didn't take their suggestions into account. Lockheed came along, hired a community spokesperson, and reached out to the flightsim community. The response they got? Being branded an evil military company who wanted to lock away FS forever. Endless tripe over licenses. Driving the person dedicated to community outreach insane by trying to poke holes in his statements and prove that the project was malicious. Lockheed takes developer and user contribution into account with each patch cycle, to say otherwise and claim that the code has been locked away and flight simulation halted is willfully ignorant at best and downright insulting at worst. The community asked for a developer to take their suggestions into account, Lockheed stepped up to this task, and in response a large portion of the community bit the hand that fed them. If development stops and flight simulation dead ends, then they have made their beds and they can lie in them.

P3DV2.2 Beta 2 info/video
I don't think it's good form to interject bits about X-Plane into threads about P3D2.2. A few months back when X-Plane was doing 64-bit beta testing would it have been appropriate to wander over and start with "Well that's good and all, but when will they get buildings at their airports?" or "FSX/P3D has multiple seasons, is that something coming soon?" Does that enhance the discussion of the sim at hand? I don't think so, it's just another comparison thread which we have plenty of.

P3DV2.2 Beta 2 info/video
This thread is for discussion of Prepar3D 2.2, not for showing off X-Plane. If I want to know more about X-Plane I'll go to that sub-forum rather than having walls text touting superiority here.
