  1. I'd wait a bit longer Mindstar are bringing a version out in the near future that costs $50 for all of the above.
  2. The mouse pointer moves to the iPad virtual monitor when you press stuff on it via Air Display thus FS is losing focus, you have to move your mouse pointer back to the FS screen and click somewhere in it before your mouse and keyboard will work in FS again.
  3. There is an app to fix that too, its called "Soundstream" sold by Flight1. Sounds made by external sound modules like you get with some aircraft like the NGX will still be muted when FS loses focus, but all the rest of the sounds coming from FS still play. Don't buy it if you are on P3D though, its already a built in feature, it just needs turning on. But yes the sound muting when a program loses focus is not unique to FS, programs have to be specifically programed not to mute when minimised or out of focus and FS wasn't.
  4. Select DME mode 1 or 2 on the radio panel then the dial on the radio panel will adjust the course for the relevant VOR1 or 2.
  5. Details of what LINDA is can be found at the forum area below, you will also find download details there too, best of all LINDA is freeware, but if you find it useful there is an option to donate if you wish, its not mandatory though. To use Linda you will require a registered version of FSUIPC4, most serious FS users already have that anyway. http://forum.avsim.net/forum/424-linda/ Nothing special is required regarding setup of your displays, FS just needs to be in windowed mode instead. One final thought though for anyone reading this in passing, Linda is an FSX only product.
  6. You can even hide the title bar if you really must. LINDA has a feature built-in to hide the window frames of the 2d gauge windows and the main FSX frame too if you want, so you end up with a pseudo full screen look.
  7. Try assigning the key command again in Linda, sometimes I find that it doesn't work so brilliantly with Key Presses. I think what is happening is that Linda is sending just the W on its own. It's best not to ever use key presses if you can help it though try and assign direct to an FS Control, Mouse Macro or L:Var. Also make sure you are using at least FSUIPC 4.91 there were some bugs in it regarding modifiers sometime in the last 12 months if I remember correctly. The last resort is to assign the key presses in FSUIPC itself rather than through LINDA, I found that that usually works if you absolutely must use key combinations.
  8. Yes that it is exact purpose, but remember the warning I stated about external aircraft sound modules, those may still be muted.
  9. Not a decent one Chris. @ Ray I try it at some point over the next few days, I'll be flying most of this evening, it will probably be tomorrow evening at the earliest before I'm free . As for coming and having a look at my setup, I'd love to let you do that but it's not a option at the moment unfortunately, too busy and I'm under NDA as well for the next few months at least. The Titan is about 5% faster than a 780, but you can overclock a 780 to be as least as fast as the Titan if you have good cooling in your case, that's not something I'm prepared to do though, its not even worth overclocking a GPU for a game that will fully take advantage of the power, the increase in frame rate (maybe 1 frame) is not worth the risk to the hardware. As it is my 780 rarely shows a GPU usage higher than 60%, even with 3 screens plugged in. If money is no object then go for it, but its definitely not worth the extra £250, the 780 is extortionately expensive as it is to be honest, for the Titan its getting into selling your Kidney territory and I've only got one partially functional one as it is, lol.
  10. Buy FSRealTime, you can get a demo version of it to try and see if it fixes your problem, it most likely will. http://www.3dsoftworks.net/products/fsrealtime/default.asp
  11. Waste of money, don't even think about it unless you are running a wall of monitors in surround mode, lol. My EVGA GTX780 copes with lots of clouds at 1920X1200 with no problem at all, saying that though so did my previous card the GTX580 in my previous two year old PC. I've got a CDU2 from VRinsight and a second monitor with Aivlasoft EFB connected to the 780 too and it still doesn't complain in the slightest. Make sure you get a Haswell 4770K CPU to go along with that card though, you want to be overclocking it to 4.5Ghz as well to get the best out of the card. You will need some quick 2400Mhz RAM as well. By the way I'm in Cheshire too, Macclesfield to be precise.
  12. You do not need Soundstream for P3D the facility is built into the sim already, you just need to find it in the options and turn it on  And the only problem I have ever had with Soundstream (in FSX the only place it works) is that it only keeps FS sounds playing when its not in focus, so if I am using an add-on like the NGX for example which also has an external sound module to add some other sound effects not possible in the sim, those sounds are muted when the sim loses focus, but that's not a Soundstream problem that's the external sound module which hasn't been programmed to continue playing sound when the sim isn't in focus.
  13. No, you have to run in windowed mode, if you try full screen mode then the 4th non FS screen will just stay black/blank and be unusable.
  14. Yes that's true no matter what external to FSX application you want to run along side the sim.
  15. Make sure the option ATC Windlock is enabled in AS2012 and make sure you load your flight plan into AS2012 as well, the AI traffic should then be more predictable in their use of landing runway.
  16. Just use LINDA instead its interfaces the NGX with the MCP panels far better than the default VRiSim software does.
  17. It is awesome isn't it, EFB may be expensive but it's the single most useful app I have installed for FS use.
  18. If you installed the 9000+ example real world flight plans, then yes it is going to take a while after the update because those 9000 routes have to be verified that they are still valid i.e. that all waypoints in the existing plan still exist in the new nav data. After I updated around 800 of those flights were no longer valid and I deleted them.
  19. You set it in the aircraft manager (little aircraft icon top left corner of screen), just edit the aircraft that you added previously, then near the bottom of the page there is an option to enter a cost index. Just type 28 for example and press enter and it will automatically change to CI28, this is now your default cost index for that aircraft and registration.
  20. I downloaded installed and activated at about 13:00 UTC without any issues at all direct from the developer, the purchase process was a little on the slow side but the actual download was fast (30Mbit/sec) and activation was painless.
  21. I think the PFPX servers have fallen on their backside, the whole website is unavailable, 500 internal error.
  22. Open the FSUIPC4.ini file located in the Modules folder which is inside your main FSX program folder and look for the section [VRinsight] It should look like this in your case if Com3 is correct. [VRinsight] 1=Com3 Dont forget to select the same com port in Linda too in the drop down menu.
  23. Do you have a registered copy of FSUIPC 4 installed? Linda suggests that you do not, hence the error.
  24. We found the ALT sel key ages ago Guenter, see the link below. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/405563-majestic-dash-8-q-400/?p=2654863
