  1. Personally, I would have been more conducive to UT Live 2 if they had brought out the Powerpack for UTLive as promised. The developers have paid scant attention to their UTLive product with one "Free" seasonal traffic update over a year ago with the promise of more frequent releases and the powerpack would be released soon. Well, neither has eventuated and frankly it is too little too late to appease frustrated users with UTLive version 2. with MS2020 a year away and AI Manager Free I don't like their chances of high sales, but I can still wish them well and every success as we need all the developers we can get.
  2. Well this is interesting. I had not planned to purchase the NG3 in P3Dv4 anyway.. But building it for MS2020 only is an interesting and probably logical decision. But it does throw the cat among the pigeons and raises more questions than answers with regard to 3rd party development for P3Dv4. If rumors are to be believed - Microsoft MS2020 announcement has already apparently killed a number of development projects underway with 3rd party developers for P3dv4... PMDG recognizing this has announced a change of strategy. This poses the question of how close with PMDG work with MS? For example will the PMDG 737 NG3 be included as a stock MS2020 model to accommodate a missing Boeing model ? Some forum members are already announcing no new purchases and a wait and see approach.. Will this PMDG announcement effectively kill any further P3dv4 development? Time will tell. But for me. My intention is continue to be a selective customer for P3dv4 products. I am waiting development of Asia Mesh ... A330... Chongqing (Jiangbei International -ZUCK) and maybe one or two existing models that I have refrained from purchasing in the past. and if Lockheed P3dv4 comes out with a a potentially significant pay for update to version 5 I will certainly look at getting it. My 2 cents
  3. Yes I have small problems with the Aerosoft Airbus 320 series. The most critical one is when FPS gets too low the aircraft basically flips around like a beached whale.(very annoying). But, most of the time I have managed this and had successful flights and still enjoy flying it. The FS Labs product is just too expensive for me and I have read it is heavy on frame rates. I am probably going to buy the aerosoft A330 when it finally emerges (December?) because the BB just doesn't cut the mustard for me. But I will wait and see. I am crying out for an A330. So many fly in to my airport I really would like to do real world routes using it. As far as I am aware no-one else, apart from BB does the A330 with some semblance to actual in cockpit systems so choices are limited. ON that note, I wish someone would have a crack at a decent A350 also!!
  4. This morning didn't have time for a full flight, but just to test new Nvidia driver settings I positioned the small Carenado Hawker Business jet at Chengdu Airport (Bridge scenery) and using real weather settings took off and climbed through 100 percent low cloud coverage heading east.. As i emerged from the base into the pale blue morning sky I flicked to outside view and I have to say that the sun highlighted the cockpit surround in a manner I have never seen before (more realistic) and the sharpness and clarity were outstanding !! It was like really being there in person somehow it was that convincing.! a moment of FS nirvana!! I have a 4k 27" monitor and a GTX2080 card.. I have not made any special settings in P3dv4.x but have turned off Hyperthreading and use Global Gsync on, DRM on (low) and set FPS to unlimited.
  5. I have enabled this option with the latest Nvidia drivers and I must say it has indeed sharpened my scenery and Aircraft - very pleased. Apart from very minor flickering on the aircraft panel at the glass window line of my DA62 , it does not appear to have any side affects that i can see, nor slowed my FPS.
  6. I imagine everyone has experienced walking away from their Flight Simming for a few weeks or months, then come back to it again. I know i have. SOmetimes it is a new product that brings me back, sometimes just keen to try a particular fllight. Each time it requires a little tender tune up on my part. But I do still enjoy it as a hobby and am really looking forward to MS2020 from a flight characteristics angle and hope that it lives up to expectations. This won't stop me buying the odd aircraft or scenery for P3Dv4 (for instance NZAA, when it comes out!)
  7. Thanks for posting your experience. Hyperthreading has indeed been a hot topic on and off in this forum. I have tried both, but am happy to turn my hyperthreading off again with the new Nvidia drivers and latest system updates and give it another try.
  8. Some time ago I watched a video clip of a newly marketed plane taking off in X plane 11. I think it was a C152 or similar, (cannot remember the designer) - but what struck me, even as I was just watching this video, was that you could see that its' performance and response would be close to expected as in a real flight as I have experienced in my time in the air. (PPL here). I felt it was an immersive experience. I will happily buy MS2020 if it can match or better that sensation or feeling. It's the sense of weight,, power and air currents wave that I am looking for. If PMDG can delivery an NG3 that feels close to as real as it gets I will be very pleased
  9. For me, I like to fly commercial style aircraft into and out of places I have visited. While Asian Terrain and landclass has been poorly represented in FSX and P3dv4 by 3rd party developers, maybe this will change with MS2020 ?? If this is something that will be available in greater detail, and the built in aircraft offer in depth systems (or alternative P3dV4.x aircraft can be ported relatively cheaply), then I for one will be considering this as a purchase.
  10. Best and only real interpretation of Christchurch Airport currently available in the flightsim world...Maybe some aspects don't work for you,,, but as a Kiwi I am grateful for all the work put into this and really appreciate the layout..Finally a realistic CHC to fly into and out of!! Thanks Robin!!
  11. We won't know for certain until next Tuesday....
  12. I think this thread needs to be closed. What value it brings to the rest of the community is dubious and it personally cause me displeasure to read the on just how off topic this has become. Yes, I want the Aerosoft Airbus to be perfect.. don't we all. And no-one can say that Aerosoft has not been active in producing updates..and some updates causing more issues.. but the Professional series has been out for a while now and they continue to bring out patches and updates. I applaud this. It is clear to me the reading some of the responses there are other agendas to cook here. Some of the participants have clearly been unsatisfied with Aerosoft as a company, their products, or their responses. As for me - you pay for what you get. I have never attached any significance to just how in depth the A320/A319 simulated the real Bus.. I just enjoyed it for what was on offer. It seems to me you get a lot for the price.
  13. I have never had the fall out of the sky issue.. but today I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest A320/A319 update and when I started P3dv4.5 it was unbelievably slow. Every click of the mouse took 20 to 30 seconds to respond. I would press the start APU and 20 seconds late it would click on Turns out it had nothing to do with the airbus update. It was MS Windows 10 security update that kept failing to install, downloading, and trying to install again. (451 times)!! Once I had dealt with that, things returned to normal (Phew)!!
  14. left hand side down by pilot left leg turn on pa system
  15. I read the manual and applied the Flightbeam troubleshooter after initial conflicts almost similar to what as your are seeing there but horizontal not vertical. - all good for me with Several different aircraft types now. Particularly like the wet look taxiways and apron
  16. I will need to check back with you... DID see LOC and GS highlighted on approach on the display - but remembered now you mentioned it the AIRAC 1904 shows other than an ILS34, but rather something like GP/ILS 34 for this runway .. So next time will choose 27 and test it out. Thanks for that. May have wrongly associated previous ILS behaviour and apologise to QW if this is the case. PS. I am really enjoying this aircraft, So much fun to fly and the STEP AHEAD feature makes long hops so much more enjoyable without sitting in the drivers seat for hours on end.!!
  17. Have to totally agree - exactly same thing happened to me last night approaching YMML from the south. Ditto Active Sky and with runway alignment 340, wind slight and from 350 - so 10 degree variation - should not have caused such wild autopilot behaviour Last 1000 Feet , autopilot started banking left then right more and more severely as it tried to overcorrect. Disconnected autopilot and landed manually (I was hoping for a Cat III autoland) - This needs a revisit
  18. will absolutely buy this.. This looks very good. Haven't flown into Wellington for such a long time and was not aware a hotel had been built there. As for NZAA will buy this also when it finally gets released (by the way, for NZAA, most external construction has completed in the current development phase -A new VIP lounge at the Eastern end of the Domestic Terminal is currently being built. Obviously more expansions are planned in the near future,. But you have to draw the line somewhere and about now I would suggest, is the time..
  19. For me the Aerosoft A320 is a reasonable product to purchase. I just don't fly P3Dv4 often enough to justify the expense of FSLabs 320. I am sure its good but I cannot justify the frequency of flight versus the expenditure. So the Aerosoft 320 does me just fine. It gets regular small updates and flies well enough for me to enjoy it. For the same reason I choose not to spend money again on the PMDG products because of their pricing policies and am happy with the iFly 737 and 747 instead. This is a personal choice.. for those of you out there who want the very best of the best and have the money to spend -- good on you-- your choice and I respect that. As an aside, I also enjoy flying the QW 787and the Leonardo MD80 and the TDFI 717. I am looking forward to the Aerosoft 330 when it is finally released.
  20. I did a flight last night (3/02/19) - QW787-9 Qantas skin... YBBN to NZAA.. Departed using AIRAC 1901 SIDS and Approach STAR Started the flight at around 1700 local Brisbane time, as the sun was sinking - REX Clouds, ACTIVE SKY weather.. ORBX Aus and NZ and ORBX YBBN. Calculated around 33,000 lbs fuel from memory. Full passenger load (2 seats empty). Flight was faultless. Came into Auckland around 2245 - city lights below, 23L approach BASIN1 approach , hit the right heights .. Used APP only, not LOC and it picked up and after a slight over swing, centred correctly on the ILS. Flaps progression, gear down at 15 flaps, and smooth landing with 25 flaps and reverse thrust. Very enjoyable and it will remain on my system and not be hangered. ( like many others I have bought in the past). I like the interface and the included SIDS and STARS on the Pilots pad - makes for an easy selection of the correct SID or STARS. Overall - a big thumbs up for the QW team - Looking forward to the upcoming fixes the PBR textures and the 787-10. Thanks Guys!!
  21. Okay - i figured that might have been the case. I should have asked you first. I have raised this question on the Cloud9 forum at FSdreamteam to see if it is possible to override the install process to point to the P3dv4 directory
  22. Afterburner, I promptly purchased Asia and Africa as a possible useful interim solution to flying in China and around Asia - it is dated 2007 and will not recognize, nor install in P3dV4.. Any suggestions? otherwise I am out 17 NZ dollars
  23. Thank you iFly for continuing to support and update this bird!!. Much appreciated!! And also thank you to the painters!! Awesome work!!
