  1. Love to see this. Slowly but surely, we will get the airports filled out. I have often wondered if there isn't a way to automate the process by scanning airport diagrams. BTW I love the new Kingair too, so much fun to fly.
  2. P3D benefits from the momentum of tons of FSX devs incorporating the platform into their development cycle, and making their products compatible with minimal effort(ideally). XPX has never had that advantage, and probably will continue to slowly build 3 party dev support. And a rabidly loyal fanbase of odd-balls(of which I am one). In other words, there will be no change, everything will stay as it is, this is just like console launch wars, 3 years later nothing is changed, all the major players and their respective fan-boys are still around.
  3. Can't you just load into the Windows 7 setup program from the install CD, then format the drive you want to install Windows on? Or are you trying to keep some data?
  4. Get G2XPL and make your own, it's far better than alot of the commercially available stuff(higher LOD). It does take some time tho' The Sim Heaven stuff is made with G2XPL.
  5. I have had all sims now on my system and XPX just works with how want to sim fly. As of late, I have been knocking around with the helicopters and having the time of my life, esp. with the Nils Danielson BKK and Truscenry airports(which look and run great at helicopter altitudes). I am changing around my home cockpuit config to be more heli friendly. Recently I was getting weird driver induced blue screens and decided to reinstall windows the other day, which I did in one night. Since XPX was on it's own separate hard drive, I just had to click the exe and voila, the sim was right back where I left it with no re-install. Gotta love that!
  6. This is one of the quirkiest foibles of being an x-plane user, you got to let the latest version cool on the sill before taking a bite. I'll take a bite when I get home from work.
  7. Got that one, it's kind of a big one to start out on. Anything smaller for the novice pilot?
  8. I was wondering what are the cream of the crop helis for XPX. It's pretty well stated that XPX is a high fidelity helicopter sim and I was having a mess-about with the ND BKK which I have owned for ages, but never flown. I was having a great time, and decided to buy the DrealFoil R-22, which seems great, but has some bug in XPX which means you have to keep deleting your prefs file before using it each time(this is a no-go until it's fixed) So I was wondering what others should I be looking at, I want to land on some of those ubiquitous oil rigs.
  9. Looks amazing! Probably runs really well too. Good Work!
  10. Can you expound on this, are you on the Beta team? What does and doesn't work, how are the graphics etc... Please start a thread in the P3D section, myself and many others would like to know. Thanks
  11. I had a wonderful flight around Southern California tonight, and felt like sharing. Recently XPX has been my sim of choice because of it's stability, and improved performance with the latest Nvidia drivers. I also "downgraded" to a 27 inch monitor from 30 inch, this improved my graphical performance so much that the decrease in view size was totally worth it. I recently took the time to make LOD 17 cm(30 cm/pixel) photoscenery of all of California and Western Nevada so as to make a nice playground to fly around in. I love the changing topography provided from the area. This was a vfr flight, to practice pilotage and old fashioned radio navigation, we are going from Big Bear Lake In the San Jacinto Mtns down to Redlands in San Bernado county, East over Banning between the San Bernadino and San Jacinto mountain Ranges. Then we overfly Palm Springs, then head south over the eastern part of the San Jac. Mtns to end up at the very west end of the Colorado Desert at Borrego Valley. We will fly Mountains, plains, cities, valleys, and finally desert. I also picked my start and end aiports because I found some nice free scenery for them. Let me apologize for the small pics, I goofed up when re-sizing them, but they get they do the job. Ready To Go at Big Bear, the whole area has an icy bluish color palette Climbing out amongst the San Bernadino peaks Heading west that is Big Bear lake in front of me, I am shooting for a southwest departure to catch a hole in the range Descending down through the valley, the color palette changes to greenish. Overflying Banning Between the San Bernadino and San Jac Mtns, on the way to Palm Springs Mesh and photoscenery combine well, this is Alpilotx Mesh Almost to KPSP, the color palette begins to change again to a bright yellow Dscending into Borrego, that street pattern is actually on the sectionals Tiedowns @ Borrego Thanks for looking...
  12. If default x-plane aint bad, Using G2XPL to make free photoscenery is amazing! I took some time and made LOD 17 Photoscenery of all of Southern California and it's amazing, since XPX will lay default autogen on top of it.
  13. Hey Guys I was randomly driving around in Clearwater FL, and happened to see a huge billboard for this place: http://www.simcentertampabay.com/ My jaw just about hit the floor. Their 737 looks amazing, I will have to brush up on my sim-flying and take a trip over there.
  14. I can now keep all of my California photoscenery in the custom scenery directory. I have 17LOD scenery of the whole state in 1x1 degree squares I made with G2XPL, before I have to break up the state and load only a few blocks at a time, now I can put it all in there and fly from one end of the state to the other. The scenery takes up 250 GB. Amazing!
  15. I don't use inspector at all, since I use HDR and the settings don't actually do anything for the AA(has to be set in-game). After looking around the net, I read that the drivers change something with the time-out delay, which is huge for me since I was having serious problems with open GL and my video card. I was so happy with them I actually bought another add-on (the aforementioned carenado caravan), and I am making some new photoscenery of Lake Tahoe.
  16. Have you guys tried the new "Game Ready" Nvidia drivers. I swear that after installing them I have a much better and more stable sim. I also upgraded to the 10.25 Beta so it could be that too. Either way I was flying around some high res photoscenry in the Carenado Caravan at dusk and for a while I was just transported away, simply amazing. Give it a shot if you have an Nvidia card.
  17. Hi all, I am rapidbly filling up my SSD, and I wanted to remove Orbx Australia from my FSX install(I never fly there anymore), without removing PNW and some other USA sceneries. Is this possible? If so, how best to go about it? Thanks
  18. Holy Cow! This plus some photoscenery and autogen will be amazing. I am eagerly awaiting this release.
  19. Good prices on some well done aiports. 2011 was a long time ago guys let it go, if you keep picking at the wound it will never heal.
  20. I don't usually geek out over a release, but the Duke is my all time favorite FSX(or any sim) craft for it's speed, smooth 3d panel, flyability. I used it to practice cross countries, and IFR when I was taking IFR lessons. I am literally slavering over the chance to buy this update.
  21. Looks good on my display 70 inch 1080p. There is some frame rate slow down when driving around. I went to the desert airport to try and get a plane, but couldn't find one.
  22. @Helo Head P3D is a moving target, a 2.0 version is due out soon. When this change occurs, who knows what will break inside the 777. I am guessing that PMDG does not want to become accountable for fixing or re-testing the 777 every time the underlying simulator changes.
