Hi there, I am currently thinking about upgrading my PC build but I have quite a few questions I can't answer by myself. Here is my current build that I did by myself : - ASUS Z170I PRO Gaming Mini ITX (Got a small form factor case that I love - Bitfenix phenom m) - Intel Core i5-6600K (3.5 GHz) - Noctua NH-U12S - G.Skill RipJaws 5 Series 2 x 8 Go DDR4 2400 MHz CL15 - MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING 8 Go - 1 TO SSD (OS ) - 2 TO SSD ( MSFS) - LDLC 550W Quality Select 80PLUS Gold - Windows 10 Home FFP 64Bit And here are my questions : - First, is it a good idea that I only upgrade the motherboard and processor (intel 12th generation) and keep all my others components ? (while waiting for graphics card prices to drop...TT). I think I am CPU limited in MSFS with complex addon (PMDG DC6 currently and surely the next to come addons) and also in DCS where I struggle to maintain 60FPS even with middle to low settings. - Shouls I go i5 or i7, K or not K ? (I am not sure I want to overclock again as I did with my 6600K) - If I do that, will I need to change my power supply which is only 550W at first? - Finally, when doing such an upgrade, can I just swap my mother board with the new modo and processor, and just plug my SSDs and go? Thanks for your help, Best regards, Pierre

I have exactly the same rendering of clouds. It appears when you look at them with the sun in your back. If you move the view 180 degree facing the sun the clouds looks great. At least it is my finding. Pierre

FPS docked vs. undocked 2nd window
Pochi replied to Fielder's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yes same here! I am worried about the coming airliners for which it is handy to have the screen popped up to check schematics while playing with the systems…. Pierre -
Yep, that’s why I won’t upgrade the 700 is nice enough for me. Pierre

Hi, I can understand that weather radar need an API but what about GPWS. It is working from a database I guess so it should be working independently from the sim ? My greatest complaint about the CRJ is about the LNAV system. It is not consistent at all and needs to be more robust. Same for the VNAV prediction system. It should be a priority in my opinion. Also, my understanding is that CRJ1000 is full VNAV capable. What about the sim? It is one of big difference between the 700 & the 1000 Pierre

G-Sync worth it?
Pochi replied to tup61's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc
Hi, I have an i5 6600K and GTX1070, and an old 1080P 60Hz monitor. I play MSFS capped at 30fps but also DCS capped at 60. In DCS when the game gets heavy, frames goes to 50 and Vsync tanks my FPS to 30. In MSFS, if I unleashed the FPS limit, I can get better than 30 when games becomes lighter. I was wondering if adding a Gsync monitor to my setup may help me having a smoother experience and less Vsync changes. I believe there is a need to have a Gsync range down to at least 30 fps but when looking for monitors there is no specs to check the Gsync range. Also I wonder if I can find a Gsync compatible monitor with a Gsync range down to 30 fps ? It seems real Gsync monitors are not so common these days…looking for 27’ 1440 or 1080P monitor. Thanks for your advices, Pierre -

Next Pilatus PC-6 Porter (Asobo)?
Pochi replied to YoYo's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Hans Hartmann and Alexander Metzger are developing this one for free. They are the one who modeled the ATR72 for Fs2004 or the Dornier Do27 which were marvels back in the day. Also they are part of the CRJ development team. Therefore I have great expectation for this aircraft. We may be surprised…or not. Pierre -
Released: MilViz Porter for MSFS2020

Hi, Isn’t the G1000 Nxi using integrated GFC700 autopilot ? I would have thought the KAP140 is not needed if Nxi is installed in the aircraft. Pierre -
Same here…flight cancelled for tonight I guess…

Thanks to the author! Fabulous work! I miss Better Pusback from Xplane though, it is the most realistic push back I experienced Pierre

Hi, I am wondering if you guys are using the new interaction system as suggested in the release note versus legacy system ? I thought it was no go when using a mouse. What are your thoughts ? Pierre -
Fenix A320 Dev Update 06 Aug 2021
Pochi replied to Krakin's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Hello, I wonder if it may be the 1st addon with yearly fee…because Prosim has a fixed price with yearly fees thereafter. If there is a deal the addon is well maintained enough after the release, it may be acceptable to me. It is just a thought of course. Pierre -
Best bush plane with glass cockpit
Pochi replied to captain420's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Well I completely agree with you. So which one feel more like a flying machine to you. I will test the Xcub mod first I guess. Savage Carbon is no more compatible with SU5 Pierre -

Hello, I wonder which one is more realistic regarding flight model between Xcub with Bush Legend mod, Savage Gravel and the new Husky? What do you think? I ‘d like to settle on one. Pierre -
Hello, I am kind of having the same problem with my rig, in particular when playing the DC6. I am running an i5 6600K at 4ghz 16go ram and GTX1070, all SSDs, 1920 x 1200 I struggle to keep my 30fps ( at which my FPS are limited) when flying the DC6. With others aircrafts, I achieve 30fps in most scenarios being GPU limited but with DC6 I am Main thread limited. Which seems weird to me as my proc seems not running 100% at all. I am mostly high settings except ultra for terrain level data and texture resolution. What settings could I lower to unload my CPU a bit ? Best regards, Pierre
