So, whats being developed for FSX thats got you interested?
fullmetal02 replied to Jacoba's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Is anyone doing a TBM 900? I read the review on flyingmag.com and I want it. All I need is $3.2M USD! -
Leaning on the ground is sometimes neccessary if you are high, hot and heavy but yeah I agree you do have to watch your temps...
-
Where is the guide? I can't find it on the forum.
-
It's hard to find the guides on AVSIM. I can't find em on this site anymore; and people want help quickly. So it's easy to understand the temptation. I hope he gets his money back.

I read somewhere that US scenery sells much better than European. So there is a segment of our hobby that votes with their dollars. Not trying to fragment the hobby, but I think aviation in the States is much more accessible than European flying. I'd like to see the numbers, maybe I'm wrong...
-
I think the market is rather segmented. There are likely more U.S. simmers than total simmers in other areas. So you can create a stunning airport anywhere, but it may not sell as well as a hum drum Bravo airspace here in the States. I am fine with KMSP. I do think there are several developers that are currently giving the premier developers a run. Namely Taxi2gate! I think the dynamic of European and US airports will slowly give way to newer developers that want to make a name for themselves in different regions. We're starting to see that revolution now with the quality/performance of newer developers that will balance the add on airport imbalance equation. There's plenty of room for everyone. I hope the days of developers releasing shoddy airport addons is over!

Master autopilot won't engage-PMDG 737

Has the autopilot worked for you before the most recent change? Is this a technical or operational question? -
REX4 upgrade or keep REX E + OD
fullmetal02 replied to Pilatus Matt's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
So is the main benefit faster loading textures and more of them? IMHO I need better weather modeling from REX. I just can't justify purchasing another copy of REX for textures that I may or may not use. There are a ton I haven't even used yet and I've had REX for years. So my basic question: What am I missing by not purchasing REX direct? -

Computer for FSX
fullmetal02 replied to estokes's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Yes definitely custom build it's not hard. And if you get into a bind there are places that will build to spec. Prices have come down substantially but don't get cheap. Use intel processors and nvidia gpus and you'll be fine. And get a chip that over clocks well. And don't let non sim people tell you how to build your pc. Follow the guide! Pro tip: I would leave enough room in your case for sli. I think Lockheed Martin may have a fix for us in the next year. That's my hopeful speculation. -

Yeah it's not working for me either. Odd, I wonder where it is? -

Well I can run FSX on my 6 year old laptop and get 25 FPS. That's with sliders to the left. It depends on the level of immersion that you want. Please read the hardware guide. It will save you time and money in the long run. -
Or you could clone the drive...

I'll save you some time. In a word no. You will be able to run fsx, but not with those addons with 20+ FPS. I would check out the hardware forum. There's a hardware guide that will help. -

I keep refreshing their web page. Guess I'll go to bed... -
Really enjoying this scenery. I think it's a step forward for this developer. Keep it up Latin VFR!
-
Is it just the steam 6 pack or can we elect for a glass cockpit?
-
This'll be good. Too bad I'm mid flight from KSFO to KDTW. Will buy later today!
-
For all it's faults I'm sticking with REX. I keep thinking hdd space. There are too many airports coming out and with funds limited I'll stick with REX. Even though I do experience an annoying simconnect error on the same flight every time CYVR-PHNL . Very frustrating makes me want ASN very badly...

Well I am a flight simmer and a commercially licensed pilot. You can have a great FDE but nothing is similar to RW flying. Procedures and flow yes, but it's hard to replicate a real life flight without the feeling of movement and the feedback that the aircraft provides. I do think that this topic can be answered better by a test pilot that is certified for the appropriate aircraft. I think that we tend to overthink the FDE sometimes and need to realize procedures, check lists and flows are the bread and butter of most pilots.

I have vacationed on St. Martin for years. I have never seen a transport categoryaircraft land on 28. Although I have seen GA aircraft land that direction.
-
Yeah I have to say I bought this airport, without reading the comments here first. The performance is lacking. I honestly liked the default KMIA better.
