  1. Hi all, I've been having a strange problem with water textures for a long time. I am limited to the 1.x range because the water loses all texturing in the higher range. I would like to have 2.x enabled for some VFR flying, however I can't seem to figure this one out. I have deleted the "Shader" folder in the [local/Microsoft/FSX] directory, but the issue persists even after FSX rebuilds the shader cache. The two images below are the result of setting 2.x. I am using FSX SP2 on Win7 x64 with the DX10 preview mode disabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I'm using it without trouble on a 42" screen. I have the TrackClip Pro, but I've never tried it (Always used the hat with the vector clip).
  3. Sometimes, buildings in FSX aren't 'solid' (saves processing power). Some helipads may be marked, but not solid. There are many others, however, which are solid objects and 'landable'.
  4. I definitely have to try this, as I am usually stuck around 15 FPS at ORBX airports. Thanks for taking the time to make this, David!
  5. OJA is indeed a -438 (Non-ER). Now they have four RR-powered 438s as well as seven -438ERs. Great video by the way!!
  6. This is why I absolutely hate Steam and why I am not buying SE. It's annoying and unnecessary to have to login, let Steam take its time and then be pestered by ads when you close the sim.
  7. Could you please paint one of the V Australia 777s (original livery) on the 77W? Thanks!
  8. Sure will be interesting to see it land in YWOL! Hopefully they will have cameras in the cockpit.
  9. It's fictional because said liveries are actually on -200 or -200ER aircraft in real life, not the -200LR. However, the flight deck is technically identical I believe, therefore the airline options from the other two -200 variants can be used on the -200LR. Lots of detail indeed! By the way, if AVSIM is not loading immediately when you post a topic, please do not repeatedly click the "Post" button. You posted ten identical topics.
  10. The whole range was in this thread, but most images and links are no longer valid, unfortunately. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/256047-pmdg-forum-signature-banners-new-j41-banner/
  11. Not very realistic at all. Perhaps try limiting yourself to one example of each object.
  12. Does the FPS drop with any aircraft, or just PMDG? An FPS hit should be expected with the NGX or 777. Also, do you have water cooling in your system? Your FPS may drop when you hit 5.0 ghz because it heats up too much.
  13. Both the integrity lights (the writing) and the lamp on the right are controlled via knobs on the center forward overhead panel.
  14. A 2D panel can be whipped up in minutes, but a VC takes a very long time (and a lot of effort) to perfect. It's not easy in the least.
  15. These days, many people use TrackIR or multi monitor setups with the VC. It's not that PMDG don't care about their customers, but rather, making a 2D panel would increase development time for something that hardly anyone uses anymore.
  16. If you're using throttle hardware (e.g. Saitek throttles), try setting the sensitivity to 100 and null zone to 0 in the controls menu. Also, try checking the throttles in the sim are at idle.

    skyvector down?

I'm also unable to get the flight plan window or the map at all.
  18. Is this the simulator that is otherwise known as the 'Norwegian 737 Project'?
  19. I find the Razbam Metro perfect for short hops between short strips. Always good fun.
  20. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to some QF flights with the 400ER.
  21. LINDA is the probably the easiest switch configuration program. Basically, you have a list of the buttons on your Saitek panel, and when you click one you have the option of assigning many different PMDG commands.
  22. I've got mine working fine with both aircraft through LINDA. Autopilot functions can also be added (the display will not read the 777's values though, it'll just go about its own thing). This guy's fantastic tutorial can be used on most PMDG aircraft (including the 744) -
