KBOS airport scenery ILS RWY 15R doesn't line up with RWY
Has anyone else found that KBOS airport scenery ILS RWY 15R doesn't line up with the RWY center line? Is it suppose to be like that? Here's a link to the files in AVSIM Library: http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=fsx_kbos_rs_cs.zip&CatID=root&Go=Search Any help would be appreciated Bill

FSX Poor Performance High End PC
I also have Orbx scenery, trees, and vector. Also have the Duke, PMDG and others, and fly a lot on vatsim. Have you tried SDREAMTEAM - GSX GROUND SERVICES. It makes being on the ground fun. DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - NEW YORK CITY X V2 and his Airports around New York are really good, but at times task the system flying at night. Have a good one.... Bill

FSX Poor Performance High End PC
It has been a great product from the begining when I ran it on a IBM PCJR. I only wish Microsoft hadn't abandoned the product. You guys did an awesome job creating it.

FSX Poor Performance High End PC
Thanks for the reply. I thought utilizing the AFFINITYMASK option with highmem= 1 allowed all the CPU cores to be utilized. I don't have a heat problem. I'm not overclocking my CPU. I'm just trying to figure out how to balance all of the cores so one of them doesn't max out. The other 3 cores are working handling the additional load and not maxing out. Thanks Bill

FSX Poor Performance High End PC
Is there a way to have all 4 cpu's work so none of them is maxed out to 100% I have 4 cores and notice depending on setting one of the 4 CPU's constantly runs at 100% while FSX is running. The other 3 balance well. If I run at affinity mask 8 CPU 3 runs at 100% If I run at 14 it is CPU 1, 16 CPU 0, or 84 CPU 2. Is there a way to keep one of the processors from running at max 100% all the time while FSX is running? Thanks, Bill

Is this supported for steam?
Ok thanks Michael.... All the more reason to stay on FSX for now. Bill

Is this supported for steam?
Thank you, I downloaded the update from Aerosoft last night. Can this download be used to load the PMDG plane on either steam or prepared3d? Bill
-
Is this supported for steam?
How do you load it to steam if you have the box version of 737NXG and it isn't showing up on the PMDG site. It may have been a XMAS gift years ago. I don't know if it was ordered originally from PMDG. Thanks,

Why I really, REALLY like P3D v3
Question? Is the license a one time fee of $199 or is it only for two years. ( you mention something about a two year something?) If I buy a license for version 3 do I automatically get future updates for free. If I buy a license are there any additional charges for the product? Thanks Bill

WINDOWS 10 and what it mean for us.
I tried going from windows 7 to 10 and had a number of issues with FSX products. It ran FSX fine but when you add NEXT, Plan-G, trackerir, vatspy, fsx fiber accelerator, and vpilot it crashes. It looks like windows 10 is like vista when it came out with all the folder permission issues that don't allow one program to access other folders etc. I messed with it for a few days and gave up. Glad I used Macium reflect to take an image of my machine before I went to 10. Restoring back to windows 7 only took 40 minutes and I'm back up again..... Has anyone else had similar issues and figured out a way to resolve this other than a maybe a clean install. I have so many add-ons. Microsoft keeps trying to protect users from messing up a system and forgets people like us that know what to do and not to do so we don't need these type of permission restrictions. Bill I'll wait a few months and then try again. Maybe some things like this will work out in bug fixes.

FSX Fiber Accelerator v1.3
An update. After some testing I'm now thinking the issue may be the NEXT ASN menu when accessed It in FSX. I haven't tried reusing Fiber Accelerator again yet, however, I still had a freeze without Fiber Accelerator running. I've found if I don't access the ASN menu in FSX I don't have any freezing. Bill

FSX Fiber Accelerator v1.3
Has anyone had an issue with FSX and the screen Freezing? I didn't notice before running fiber accelerator but not sure if it is the culprit. The screen kind of turns white I can still see the image and the program says not responding. If I wait a while it seems to clear up. Other that that I like the program. Hope I can resolve this issue. I'm running version 1.3.2.... I'm using the AGL cycle which I like since it is automatic, but wonder if that may be the issue. Thanks for any help Bill

Determining landing and takeoff runways (VatSim no controllers online)
Thanks for the input. I agree on weather programs keeping the same in both in FSX and VatSim. I use Active Sky NEXT and it's a great program for matching weather in real time or in VatSim depending which option you select. One of the reasons for my question is wondering how accurate the ATIS in FSX is if the weather matches is FSX and VatSim. I'm not sure but thought someone else may know. Might help in those cross wind situations if the program is smart enough. Again thanks so much for the replies.

ILS proceedures in FSX and ILS data.
One of the keys to auto landing I have found is to line up the plane so it is on the glide path prior to setting the auto land switch. If the plane isn't kind of lined up first it will fly through the glide slope and can't react fast enough. As said above you must have both radios set to the same correct freq. My PMDG, Duke, and really all add on planes work as long as I set them up properly. I don't fly the FSX stock planes. Hope this helps.

Determining landing and takeoff runways (VatSim no controllers online)
What is the correct way to determine the landing and takeoff runways in VatSim when there aren't any controllers online. I currently use FSX with NEXT for managing the weather set to VatSim network. When approaching an airport or wanting to depart what is the best way to determine which runway to use while flying in VatSim? I normally review winds in NEXT and connect to ATIS for that airport in FSX to verify winds and see which runways it publishes are being used. We had a discussion last night and someone said that isn't a valid way because FSX weather can be different than VatSim. Since I'm connected with NEXT and weather in FSX is matching VatSim, I think???, is that the correct procedure? If not what is the approved procedure for this scenario with no controllers and multiple planes in the same location. There have been multiple times lately that pilots are using opposite runways at the same time creating an unsafe environment. Thanks in advance for feedback.

Uninstalling FS9 with both FS9 and FSX on same computer
I have FS9 and FSX on the same computer and want to remove FS9. I never fly FS9 anymore. Has anyone else already done this with success so FSX isn't damaged? My thought is they are completely different installations so removing one shouldn't effect the other. The removal process steps I'm planning are: 1 Removing USA roads 2 Removing ActiveSky version 6. 3 Removing addon planes 2004 versions 4 Removing FS9 Does this look like the correct process? Anything I may be missing?

Show your support for FS9
I just finally built a new machine so I loaded up FSX. I've been flying FS since the first simulator came out. Other than the graphics I'm really disapointed in FSX. I almost feel like FSX is more in the arcade direction where FS9 is more like a real flight simulator.Planes seem to handle better in FS9Squawkbox works better in FS9I like the 2d panels in FS9. It is hard to read the 2d panels in FSX.It is difficult to manage switches in 3d mode. Some planes don't have 2d panel options.the old navigator doesn't work with FSX eventhough it isn't supported. It is still the best around.I hope this poll will get new software addon folks to keep making more FS9 products. I would like to see all planes come in both FS9 and FSX for one price instead of charging for both. I guess FSX is great for VFR flying but FS9 is much prefered for IFR and online flights.Bill
