  1. At FSExpo, LM directly said they are committed to the consumer use market, but reiterated that the USAF and commercial market is their primary customer - by several orders of magnitude. They also said they are doing what they can to encourage third party developers to continue to develop for P3D and that our encouraging third partty developers is also a large part of that effort. Obviously, MSFS will be the perferred platform for the largest majority of simmers because of multiple platforms and extensive marketing ability. MSFS has brought many, many more users into the flightsim world and some will gravitate towards P3D as their preferred sim. As with any company with a product, LM will determine, from time to time, the best use of its capital and resources.
  2. I think V-1 Simulations on youtube is about the best out there. He uses Xplane and not P3D/FSL, and now MSFS and Fenix, but the aircraft amd system instruction is excellent. FSL is still the superior product to the rest. Agreed that Mike Ray's study guide - available on Amazon - is outstanding. Remember that you fly a Boeing and you manage and Airbus.
  3. No, in fact the area was 1,000 miles form the nearest oil rig. I think it was resistance to new ideas couched in a fear of possible damage to wetlands and coastal areas.
  4. I live in South Texas. I am all in favor of whatever it takes to get water. Here, even in good years, it is problematic. I have lived in coastal areas with companies that developed floating desalinization plants, but could not get the permitting passed. My point is that when you are up to your rear in alligators, it's too late to think about draining the swamp. At this point, they have little option but to wait it out.
  5. They are about ten years too late in developing them to be of any help. People in Cali would never approve the permits.
  6. Also on Youtube check out channels of V-1 Simulations and Blackbox711 who are RW 32X captains and have excellent tutorials on all things A32X. Jeff Callender
  7. I believe i have found the fix to this. Open up startup, then settings, then Apps. Go to "Gaming Services" click the three dots to the right and choose "advanced options", then choose "repair". Mine started after doing this. Jeff Callender
  8. Errant fingers.....I'll check that out. Thanks,
  9. MSFS will not start - when staring, it takes me to the Microsoft Store - Gaming Services page, with no other options. I am an owner of the Deluxe edition and have been since the day it came out. I used used it as late as three or four days ago. My system shows the app as being installed. If I go to the store and bring up the MSFS2020 page, I click on "play" and nothing happens. It doesn;t show as being "owned" when I've had startup issue in the past. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  10. Just pick you flight and go to flightaware.com to see the routes that are currently being flown.
  11. Mine won't start, a dialog box reports that I need an internet connection. I have no mods.
  12. Yes, me too. More and more.
  13. You mount the eyetracker on the bottom of the monitor bezel itself, not the stand. I assume your monitor is a normal (18 inches or so?) from your face. You need a depth of about an inch. You then tilt the tobii bracket to be at 0 degrees incidence - "level". I don't have the zoom going yet in P3D. Jeff Callender
  14. I ordered and received the eyetracker version 5 and it works pretty well. Good speed and responsiveness. Have not completely tweaked it yet to find my favorite settings. It does not seem to be compatible with Chaseplane, though. I have to exit Chaseplane to get it to work. Why do you need Chaseplane if you have this? Might want to have a different view or external view, I guess. I will continue to tweak and see if I can figure it out. It may be a one or the other thing, though. Anyone have the same experience? Jeff Callender
  15. I came across this eyetracker which works with MSFS2020. Does anyone know if it is compatible with P2D? I have trackIR, but wearing the IR emitters really bugs me. Thanks, Jeff Callender
  16. For those of us that remember command line DOS, a script to delete shaders should be a cinch.
  17. An ASUS 3080ti for the vid. Has not arrived yet, shoould be this week. I use mainly P3Dv5 and I don't have extreme expectation of a huge FPS increase, but I figured if I am building, I might as well go for it. I have a 32" samsung curved monitor. WIth this card,I may try hooking it up to the 55" TV and see what happens. For a case, I am using Anidees Crystal Cube V3 Mesh. I like it so far and it fits well in my built-in desk. I am going to finish and install the rest of the drives and Flightsim software this weekend.
  18. To All, completed the process and the build is great! Just waiting for the new Vidcard to get here!. Jeff C
  19. I am installing an I9-11900k in an ASUS TUF Gaming Z590 motherboard. I have a Corsair RMX850 power supply, ATX 2021 version. I built my last PC about 2 years ago with an I9-9900 and on that TUF biard, there was a single 8-pin CPU power block. That was a Z490 board, I think. This Z590 mobo has CPU power connector blocks with an 8-pin block and a separate 4-pin block. The power supply has 8 pin cables, but no 4-pin cable. My question - is the four pin block optional? Do you plug four pins of an eight pin block in it? Haveany of you used this same mobo/cpu combination? Thanks for your help, Jeff Callender .
  20. I haven't used FS202 in a couple of months. I tried to open it up and it loads to a scenic screen that says "press any hey to start". I do that and it goes to a dialog box that says "Welcome Back, username (with my usename)" with a green bar that says "Let's Go!". I click that bar and it cycles back to the scenic promo screen with "Press Any Key". So it loops between those. I have flown successfully with it many times, but just haven't done so in quite awhile. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff Callender
  21. XBox is where the largest volume of untapped users is and thus the largest pot of money.
  22. Mine went for about ten years and one of the potentiometers went out and could no longer be adjusted, Had to get new ones. There are some videos on youtube about tweaking the pots on them.
  23. The base engine is older than that...except it's updated to 64 bit, HDR Lighting, PBR lighting, enhanced graphics, fantastic add-on integration, weather, shaders, simplifying updates. I think LM has been quite responsive to the community, in my opinion.
  24. Pretty basic and I apologize, but make sure you haven't put in a leading or trailing space in the ID or password fields. Check caps/lower case, etc.
