  1. Has there been any reports of the kids condition? Its been pretty hush hush in that regards.
  2. Cute and well done. I like it. Seems too long to be a normal tv commercial though.
  3. I'd guess one of those special plastic party balloons but it has too odd a shape it seems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW38aYZfT9U
  4. Well, I just ordered a new Toshiba laptop to replace my old 14 in. 2007 HP Compaq 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 model. For the extra $75 I opted for the addin nVidia GT740 card. On the new 15in screen, I had a hard time choosing between the 1080p and 768p as screen resolutions. High res demands more performance but cockpits looks so much better in high res. Anxious to see how FSX will do on this new Toshiba.
  5. Awesome shots indeed. Love those old birds, they just ooze character.
  6. Gah, uncomfortable to read cause its so true.
  7. I'm relatively certain most want more daylight during the evening hours. That's where the time should be and stay IMO.
  8. And what was one of the first things people complained about? Yup, low res. They are now going for 1080p screens and rightly so.
  9. Hmmm 720p is not going to cut it with the nerd gaming crowd that be the ones most likely to buy this.
  10. This doesn't seem so bad. Looks like he's running in DX10 mode too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xph-heSsHcI
  11. See some threads but no conclusive answer or feedback if the < 1 year old laptops can run default FSX Gold at medium to high settings? Not max, not heavy airports, not PMDG; just something nice in decent FSX standards.
  12. Very pretty indeed. Colors match real world nicely, on my monitor at least.
  13. Finally learning this plane. It's very hands off but I find it interesting that the altitude still had to be constantly set. (unless I missed something?) The flight plan has the altitudes programmed in, why doesn't the plane change altitude it automatically from the MCDU?
  14. Such a cold, lonely looking place.
  15. Wow, outstanding plane! Only issue I see so far is there is no VC lighting. The dome light turns on but cabin doesn't light up at all.
  16. I'm sure there is a strong user base in here that is already retired so feedback should be diverse. My main question to all is... what do you truly plan to do when you retire? I mean, do you have a specific, for sure idea of how it will 'go down' for you? For those already retired, did you have a plan or definite ideas of what you wanted to do or how you planned to be before you actually retired? I'm trying to figure out what I might want to do or where to live but I come up empty. I have nothing in my mind that says "Yes, this is absolute what I want to do!" in retirement. Do most of you have a clear plan?
  17. Wow, nice comparison, thanks. Xplane is where I'll be heading to when it gets a few features it lacks from FSX.
  18. Can almost smell the oil dripping on the exhausts.
  19. Thanks for bringing it back to life. Anxiously await the story of what happened.
  20. Very nice. Excellent livery. Love the CS727 but the darn power loss to avionics bug keeps me from flying it.
  21. Interesting plane with the low side windows like that.
  22. Pretty sure its FSX via the OPs side info. Nice shots indeed. Like the airports when surrounded by mountains.
  23. If you are running DX10, a new video card would help a little, but as outofphaze said, you probably won't be happy with the small improvement. A 10% gain at 20 fps only nets 22fps. :( CPU speed is king and we need a 8GHz cpu to make FSX fly well.
