  1. I was shocked to see that the default AC was no where close to reality... So thanks to you and the original Dev for this addon...my favorite dlc thus far in MSFS!
  2. Well some folk said that MSFS can't survive wthout PMDG and other study level aircraft. Seems to be the other way around....the large user base in MSFS beckons 3P developers to explore the sales potential. PMDG loses out the longer it takes to tap the MSFS "oil" well. How some people make it out like PMDG influences anything is beyond me. I was never interested in their high price / performance killing products.
  3. Thanks. Worked for me. Avionics crash issue is gone.
  4. Exactly… Another advantage that MSFS has is the marketplace where they now get a cut of the addon sales. Folk always said that sims can’t survive without addons…now MSFS gets to eat along with the 3P Devs. What was up and running on day 1? The Store. What was available day 1? Addons. MSFS weekly updates now include new store items… LR hardly worked with 3P Devs (like X-Enviro) for compatibility although these addons were trying to get more out of XP and address the gaps. Austin did not position XP to compete on a large scale. He obviously has other projects and XP remained under small development cycles. Not faulting him, he is much bigger than XP; but at the same time, XP did not take advantage of the past 10 years to really advance given that the competition was stale. MSFS has the looks, a unique offering (the world), the community engagement, the social media presence (yes those YT vids make a difference), and the marketplace to put the addons right in front of the user for a seamless purchase / install. Their approach was top notch from Day 1 (the trailer). Just look at Flightsim.to with over 300 freeware addons (including 130+ airports / enhancements) less than 1.5 months after the release. The community is pushing just as hard as Asobo to make MSFS the best sim ever.
  5. IMO, you won't see any major development for P3D / XP...these guys dropped the ball...and the gap is too wide to catch up to MSFS. They rolled over years ago with stale development / progress, and letting addons fill in the gaps. The new users are going to MSFS, the 3P devs are going to MSFS...all roads are leading to MSFS. Will P3D and XP still be around, sure...FSX is still around...for the small loyal user base that supports them. However.... I doubt you will see an XP12 with any major advances within the next 2 years. And even then, it most likely will not generate new sales to warrant the investment. I doubt P3D can justify offering another "for pay" upgrade and expand its user base. MSFS is positioned to be the sim of the future...the marketplace...the growing community making addons...etc.
  6. Underestimate??? Have you seen MSFS? Seems like Microsoft far exceeded their competition. Prior to MSFS, there was no real competition, just older tech sims surviving on 3P clouds, terrain etc. to survive. These Dev did not push the barrier....MSFS did. MSFS has a better chance at fixing bugs and getting better 3PD planes than LR / LM has at closing the wide gap to compete with MSFS. Where are the new sales going? Where are the 3P Devs going? ...to the future of flight simming.
  7. XP12??? What are the new features??? and release date??? Not a year+ cycles of beta...a full release. The mod on the XP forum claims that LR uses the mobile funds to support the desktop development...if this is true...then XP11 can't carry its own weight today. XP12 would have to offer something groundbreaking to warrant new sales...but wait...MSFS just did that...and continues to grow... Also, the community that made XP11 better (building airports etc.) has been replicated in MSFS. Look at all the MSFS freeware etc that has been put out there in a little over a month. Where will that development be in a year??? And the 3PD jumping on board. Will they continue to develop for sims with a small user base or strictly focus on MSFS...new tech...and new users??? XP12...I don't think it will happen...or generate many new users....all roads seem to point to MSFS.
  8. Does anyone know if the GPU performance hit is limited by VRAM? If so, would the RTX3090 24GB allow for the higher settings?
  9. I still have XP for the Helos. XP's low level flight (under 3,000ft) when looking down at the 3D modeled buildings etc and traffic (especially at night) is really good. Landing Helos on top of buildings / back of ships / and oil rigs is awesome and I could fly Helos for hours in the sim. With that said, I have not been back to XP since the release of MSFS2020. I want to say there is something about MSFS...but...there are many things about MSFS that keep me engaged, even through the bugs / mishaps. As much as I like Helos, flying planes in MSFS2020 in areas that I know...that "look like" areas that I know...is a new level of immersion that keeps me hitting the MSFS icon after booting up the PC.
  10. Glad it works for you... In time, Asobo will get it sorted out...oh...the growing pains...
  11. No doubt the video looks good. The point is MSFS looks much better...and is capable of so much more visually...in stock form...above and beyond those specialized areas we see in similar P3D vids loaded with addon "make up". YT vids have exploded showcasing MSFS in many different areas of the "world". It is much more than a 12 minute vidbite...it is a visually captivating world to explore.
  12. Like you, I have "all" AI turned off...and I still experience the avionic / AP issues others have cited.
  13. May not work, but try my settings... TV / Monitor locked at 30hz, sim at 60 fps (for me, the sim seems to introduce stutters below 60). These settings helped a few people at the very beginning...and what has helped me remove stutters.
  14. Much like the OP, I think that the average person looking to build / buy a PC can compare prices...I think your point was to school the OP without knowing all of the facts first.
  15. I have i7 7700k (no OC), GTX 1080, 32RAM (3200) I can run 1080p High settings....LOD OBJ and TERR @200 with no stutters. Where is your monitor locked (i am at 30hz)? Are your frames limited in MSFS (i am at 60fps locked)?
  16. Same here...had to wait a few days for the activation email...
  17. It is an issue with more than just the SR22... When engaging active pause while using the AutoPilot, the sim will spike the trim up or down. I have seen this in the Virus and the VL3.
  18. Same issue on my end with the Virus, random shut offs for the avionics. Only happened after the latest patch...
  19. Hi, I downloaded the Atlantic City Skyline scenery and dropped the scenery folder in my the "community" folder on my C drive, user...local...packages ...etc as directed (MSFS "store version" is installed on a different drive). However, the scenery does not show in the sim. Is there a setting or extra step that I am missing?
  20. Same with the Virus SW, MFD goes blank... I can reset it by turning the avionics switch to off and then back on....but the MFD goes blank again at random times.
  21. When user has a single yoke / joystick, then sensitivity setting are required to to fine tune the response. In a sea of many offerings (different throw travels etc.), no one should expect a yoke / joystick to conform right of the box for every plane...much less blame the sim...even if the suggestions you made were implemented. This is why LR and DCS have very robust sensitivity adjustment features.
  22. And yet you missed where I wrote... "Its about fine tuning the response to be more realistic. I have not yet flown the aircraft referenced by the OP (and I recognize that he is referring to control surface deflections as opposed to joystick throw)" If you are going to quote me....read it first...
