  1. I ran into the same issue with finding a 10900k...so I went with the 10700k
  2. Not so... There is a reason why XP and DCS have very advanced user curve features for the their controls....because sensitivity matters... If you want to jump into a random plane....with a random joystick and expect everything to work for you...with no fine tuning...good luck with that. Its about fine tuning the response to be more realistic. I have not yet flown the aircraft referenced by the OP (and I recognize that he is referring to control surface deflections as opposed to joystick throw)...but I have not had a "twitchy" plane in MSFS, XP, or DCS after I adjusted the sensitivity for the controls.
  3. They communicated that they are aware of the issues....this is much more than we got from other flight sim DEVs....especially performance issues. We can expect that the things that they listed will be addressed in the near future...that is a good thing. We get it...life isn't perfect...the sim won't be either, MSFS is pushing through patches immediately after release (they aren't waiting 6 months). Sim life isn't about A2A, PMDG, FSL, and Milviz for everybody....I don't own any of their products in other sims. Steam is now at 12.1k mostly positive reviews....this shows that folk are generally satisfied despite the issues... I still complain about X-plane clouds...and XP is still in business...so yes...people will still complain. So thanks for the reality check...but the reality is that MSFS is communicating with the community and addressing the issues.
  4. The key here...is that Asobo is actively listening, responding / addressing.... thus engaging with the community. I was not concerned about the initial issues (to be fair, i did not have the install issues), from Day 1...and the months leading up to release....MSFS showed that they are committed to getting this right. The discovery series alone shows that these guys are just as passionate about MSFS.
  5. Well...at least the Jedi won't complain about IFR flights and getting the G1000 up to speed.
  6. Does anyone know if these enhancements work for the glass screens in the Virus 121?
  7. I think he does...he just doesn't realize how his testing the boundaries by "grazing the side of the building" could have been very offensive to some... A complete fool? He has over 4.39M subs...so i would chance to think that he is doing something right. His MSFS series has some vids with over 500k views...with one over 800k views. Evan at a low advertisement rate of $3 per 1,000 views....his one 30 min video (of fun) earned him $2,400. I don't know many "complete fools" who can earn that much doing a 30 min video.... And how many people would you suppose is that curious without intending to be insensitive??? Before you unsubbed, he was at 4.39M subscribers...after you unsubbed, he is at 4.39M subscribers.
  8. I have mostly flown in photoG areas over the past 2 weeks. Now...in non photoG areas, especialy the islands (St Thomas, PR). the rooftops in the distance seem to flicker really bad...I have tried all Ultra settings (highest AA), but can't get away from this. I am running at 1080p with an Nvidia 1080 card with Ultra / High settings. Anyone else experience this? Have a solution?
  9. I can't get myself away from the Virus to try the VL3...I bought the premium edition specifically for the SR22. But somehow, I am stuck on the learning / flying the Virus.
  10. Everything isn't going to be perfect, but I was surprised to see that Vegas had no special attention for the night lighting. I "will" be the first in line to buy an addon that does Vegas night...right....and this is coming from a guy who swore he would not buy scenery addons for MSFS. But its Vegas man, we have to get Vegas right. I have bought a Vegas addon for every other flight sim out there...including DCS world.
  11. As much as I have come to dislike XP11s slow development & loooongstanding issues, I can't deny the dedicated community that has kept the sim afloat with their contributions. From the airport gateway, utilities, FlywithLuey etc. there is no way that I would have stuck with the sim without the contributions of the community. It looks like MSFS has that same backing of those willing to contribute to get the most out of the sim. The next few years will be interesting to see where things go...looking good thus far.
  12. Hi, Does anyone know that filename / general path for the control profiles? I plan to do a re-install, but wan to save my controller assignment preferences...
  13. Thanks, do users need a live subscription for this to work?
  14. I have only done multiplayer games / chat on Xbox. Does MSFS offer chat through their group session in-game? If, not any suggestion on what app to use for MP chat?
  15. I am interested in the 3090 as well, but the presentation did not show a relative comparison to current gen cards for the 3090, unless I missed it.
  16. And the 4K TV to go along with that card... Its adding up...but MSFS is so worth it.
  17. I am still in a wow moment almost 2 weeks in... MSFS has me "stuck" at 2,000 / 3,000 feet for almost 2 weeks now sightseeing, seriously I have yet to really hit the clouds... MSFS has me "stuck" in the Virus / Icon A5 just flying low and slow taking it all in.. and I purposefully bought he premium edition to get the SR22, but haven't even loaded it yet. At some point, I will get to some more "serious" flight simming...
  18. Has nothing to do with simulator setup preferences...using additional devices like ipads and kneeboards...you know, the things that "real pilots" use that can't be seen when using VR. It doesn't qualify you as an expert...only it shows me that "you" really like "your" setup. Again you fail to realize the purpose of this thread, telling the OP our preferences / experiences with VR vs large screen....not "debate" which is better and advance our (so called) expert opinions as the only possible setup that makes sense for everyone. ...maybe for you, but in the real world, it does not suffice for everyone. Accept it and move on....we get it...you prefer VR.
  19. Oh, I did not know that you are the expert on how people should use their setup, let me know how that career works out for you...and... ...let me know if you can close your eyes while sitting in your car, and adjust your climate controls.
  20. I drive a car, and I do have to reach for (and glance at) additional controls (climate controls etc), so its not just about the steering wheel and pedal, and therefore...it is not the same thing for VR Every flight setup is different....keyboard / mouse are other controls (not in cars) that can't be seen (peripheral awareness) when using VR headsets in flight simulators... To each his own, I am not here trying to "sell" my idea, I answered the OPs post and I am sure that he can evaluate the responses to make a decision. If VR works for you, and you like that extra weight and heat strapped to year head while you play, go for it.
  21. This vid is very misleading to say the least, and seriously downplays the visual capabilities of MSFS. The YT channel has mostly P3D vids, and gives a clear view into the biased vid posted by the OP. More telling, is that the channel barely gets 1k views per P3D video....and there are MSFS vids with over 100k views that truly show MSFSs capabilities. They can, but a budget minded person may not think that multiple flight sims (and hundreds of dollars in addons) makes much sense. And this is where MSFS shines above all the rest. For basically $100, a person can get MSFS and not have to pay over $500 in addon "make up" for P3D and XP that still doesn't come close to the "natural beauty" of MSFS. MSFS is the sim is the future, it is not about who goes back to P3D / XP, it is about who (new) is coming into the flight sim genre, and MSFS is positioned to take the lead on new sales, and 3P Dev investment will follow that lead.
  22. @Cat_Dad Have you tried VR before, or can somehow get to use one before committing to a purchase? To me, the drawbacks (very subjective), weight of unit, not being able to see my controls and additional devices (ipad / kneeboard) kept me away from VR. This may or may not be an issue for you. I have a 60 inch TV, and the sim look awesome with this view...to me...and where I sit (TV sits about 1 foot off of the floor in front of my sim cockpit)....it is as if i am sitting in the cockpit, and using TackIR gives me the ability to look around, especially for Helis in XP. There would obviously be some limitations with this setup given what you shared concerning your vision. Both setups do raise concerns about a light source being close to the eye, so I ultimately plan to get a 4k projection screen setup. However, for now my vote is for a large screen.
  23. I have spent over 5 hours in the Icon A5 and it is as solid as a rock...very predictable for me. My pitch / roll sensitivity is at -65...yaw at -70. I am able to bring this bird at near stall speeds for the awesome landing a TFFJ...a tad bit unsettled when coming over the small mountain peak at runway 10 due to wind..as I get that with other planes at that same spot...but easy to control and plant a landing.
