xEnviro 1.10 Released!
Pastaiolo replied to mccurdypm's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
xEnviro is the only one in XP with volumetric noise generated clouds. This is not up for debate. Everyone else is using in a way or the other the usual billboards we got to deal with since FS98. -
xEnviro 1.10 Released!

Colonel, i think it is more Gpu dependant than CPU. -
xEnviro 1.10 in Beta
Pastaiolo replied to steve310002's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
There will be performance hit. From what i saw and what they tell in the video too, they reduced cloud details a bit to keep performance up. This is something normal for such technology tho, if you check other sims using such tech you will see that the clouds look more or less similar in definition: Il2 Sturmovik, TrueSky, Outerra etc etc -

You don't know what was going on in Corfรน at the time of the recording, since this is real time weather ๐ -

New timelapse video was uploaded, looking quite great i think! -
Challenger 650 coming...
Pastaiolo replied to ryanbatc's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
That's great news! We got quite some business jets coming ๐ -
Well, xEnviro and Skymaxx both have clouds on a longer distance. To be honest it was just Ultra Weather and default weather not having them. Now, if that is worth 10 dollars, without any comment about performance (which we know degrades the more clouds you have, xEnviro and Skymaxx both show this), well it is up to the viewers i guess. For me it isn't, perhaps it will be once the other features will be known. It is kind of weird however after they promised free updates to those who bought UWXP 2.5 not so long ago.

Okay, which is still a branch of USAF anyway, point stands. The official page of ED business company, thebattlesim.com also states the following:
-
It would be quite silly for ED to do something illegal, considering the long experience they had in working on developing modules for DCS, let alone building A-10 simulators for USAF itself. Russian spy theories sound equally silly to me.

I think variety is a good thing. And to be honest, regarding playing other games too beyond those involving planes. It's a funny feeling seeing someone coming out of their little cave and finding out about other games with modern graphic engines and what they are capable of ๐

I don't see a big use of their latest product on XP.

xAmbience New beta version 1.04 preview
Pastaiolo replied to Sims Smith's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
I think this is a good example of why i am waiting for x-Enviro and 3d noise generated clouds. -
Finally, the Civilian version of the Osprey is coming
Pastaiolo replied to John_Cillis's topic in Hangar Chat
It's not the civilian version of the Osprey, it's the first civilian tilt rotor ๐ -
I feel like Infinite Flight is the go-to app for smartphone/tablet "sims"
-
Let's hope we get to enjoy it on XP too. Considering what they have been doing so far, it's likely but they have lots of planes to bring still from their FSX/P3D lineup.
-
Or a lovely ATR, in Milviz face.

For my XP news need, i got things covered already with other sites.

Aircraft In Development for X-Plane 11
Pastaiolo replied to signmanbob's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
That's not a bad thing i think, considering they cannot simulate their avionics and weapons properly. If you want a proper military experience on that DCS is the sim to go to. -

Lack of communication, lack of experience in dealing with a different platform, or perhaps lack of real commitment since the majority of their audience was using another simulator? ๐ I think this is something we saw a lot in the past with FSX Steam edition and P3D after: how some of the developers got used to a completely static environment for over 10 years and then found themselves in trouble or having to work more to keep their addons compatible with the newly released versions of the base sim. But yes, we do need a proper 747-400 indeed ๐ That is something they might focus on in the future, if i was them i really woudn't want to jump in facing the Zibo's 737. We'll see. -

I won't miss their attitude and pricing on XP for sure. I think the DC-6 on XP is a perfect example of how much they tried to make money with the smallest effort, and they left it pretty bugged still from what i heard. -
IXEG Development Moving Forward Again
Pastaiolo replied to 19Delta's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
I am not informed, why has IXEG development been idle for some time? -
Well guys, at least you had one which represents some parts of the USA so far. The rest of the world wasn't so lucky ๐

'Must have' starter XP plugins
Pastaiolo replied to ErichB's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
Exactly. Which means it depends on your GPU ๐ Mine is old so i can enjoy the Zibo with good fps in the 2k version, but not the 4k one. -

You can use the 2k version of the Zibo tho, that should be a bit easier on the fps.
