  1. Thanks for the tutorial mistolip. I too was surprised and somewhat disappointed that none of the inibuilds planes seem to work with the default planner. It doesn't look like I'll be cancelling my Navigraph subscription any time soon.
  2. I finally got it installed and working. I've got the Aviator's version and all of the expected planes were present. Although my controls were recognised (the Thrustmaster Airbus set) none of the buttons or axes were mapped. I tried to configure them but found the menu to do this difficult to understand and very complicated. I'm getting on a bit so it could just be me, but I also found the new flight planner to be a bit of a mystery and that it doesn't seem to work with the default 320 which surprised me. So for now 2024 is unplayable for me and I've uninstalled it. I'll wait until there are some YouTube videos about setting up controllers and using the flight planner etc. Until then it's back to 2020. I'm sure that given time 2024 will be wonderful.
  3. LOL thanks for the rather childish and condescending consumer purchasing advice. Enjoy your pringles 😂 I solved the issue by following some other posters' helpful advice and activated my marketplace purchase on Contrail. I saved a €10 on the MSFS Marketplace discounted price.
  4. I don't think it's Just Flight doing this. Well I hope not, otherwise I will be very disappointed.
  5. The price for the full version of the RJ on the MSFS market place is about €77. The Just Flight shop is selling it at €65 which is actually cheaper than the MS Store is asking for the upgrade "bundle" (€69). "offensive initials not allowed"* are they doing? (Apart from money-grubbing). Edit to "What on Earth"*
  6. I bought the code for my Aviator version through CDKeys so I paid immediately. It worked just fine.
  7. I've tried most of the career apps that are available, but my vote for small (and larger) planes would be for On Air Company. It has come on leaps and bounds since it first came out and has massively improved. The developers are constantly working on it. The downside is that it is subscription based, but if you take out a 2 year subscription it's only 3 euros a month. You can set it up to be as easy or as difficult as you want. You can run a company or work for other companies that are player run or NPC type real life airlines.
  8. I just wanted to say that the HiFi Tech support desk is probably one of the best I've ever had dealings with. I had a problem with getting my upgrade serials from the vendor who had server problems. HiFi worked with the vendor and sent me the serial keys within a couple of hours. Active Sky 16 and ASCA are both fantastic products by the way. Paul
  9. Amazing images. I've been considering buying the FF 767, I think these shots just decided for me.
  10. Why are you putting the plans under: "\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\propdefs\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\NGX" Where does the propdefs folder come from? You might be looking in the wrong folder. I think pmdg defaults to \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\NGX Try looking there.
  11. He's not complaining and he's not asking to "see" the passengers, he's asking whether there is a "high density" passenger version he can use when he flies for his VA because the flights they give him want him to load more than the standard 174 seats. He's probably trying to make his flights as realistic as he can. I don't understand why you've got your knickers in such a twist. Who are you to say that this software isn't for him or that his request is "NOTHING, ABSURD, A NONSENSE" simply because he wants to fly it for fun or as a hobby and not use it to spend "hundreds of hours training..training..training. Good luck with your "training..training..training".
  12. I just copied the folders and gauges across to V 3.0 and my 1900 seems to be working just fine.
  13. 12 minutes to the end of the download. It only took 6 and a half hours. It's the small price I pay for living in a village in the Italian Alps... (and it's well worth it)
  14. I may be completely wrong about this, but I think you have to ask ATC for clearance before the flight plan becomes available in your PMDG or FSX folders. I haven't used PROATC for while but I vaguely remember having similar problems.
  15. He doesn't actually "have" to do anything. Who are you to say that he does? I'm fairly new to the Avsim forum, but having seen the amount of manure being spread throughout some Avsim threads about ORBX, always seemingly by the same "farmers", I'm really not surprised JV called it BS. Or do you think for the sake of "customer relations" he should just keep bending over and taking it? If you don't like his straight talking, the answer's really simple, don't give him your money. Out of curiosity do either you or Scotchegg actually own an Orbx product?
  16. About €500 between Black Friday and Christmas... But I'm mostly happy Undoubtedly the missus would be less so should she ever find out ...
  17. LOL what colour is the sky on the planet you're living on exactly? If it is so easy to "just recompile the data" why haven't you done it yourself?
  18. You owe me a new monitor! I just spat the Mojito I was drinking all over mine
  19. I came across this link on another site. I haven't tried it myself as I reverted back to windows 7 after trying 8.1 and also being frustrated by the joystick bug. There's nothing wrong with Windows 8 especially after installing the little Stardock programme to get rid of the stupid panel start up screen. I found it's actually faster than Windows 7. Anyway here's the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2900614/en-us Let me (us) know if it works
  20. Mine's slow as well. You can download it as a single 10 gb file or as smaller files of around 1 gb. I'm downloading it as I speak and it's coming down at a "blazingly fast" 500 to 600 kbs/sec, which is actually much faster than my line normally downloads stuff. I strongly suggest getting a download manager. There's nothing like downloading 99% of a large file and having it fail at the last moment.
  21. I've recently bought the Lionheart Quest Kodiak and although the review by Jason McKee is now 5 years old I'd just like to take the time to thank him for his accuracy. I more or less bought the plane (an excellent bargain by the way) based on his review and it turned out to be a very fair assessment of the aircraft. I'm happily flying it around the Australian outback in P3D and FS Economy and it's well suited to the rough strips you find around those parts. As noted the sounds need beefing up but a small investment of around $10 will sort that out. Thanks again
