To try and get a more balanced view of what's happening for those with the new sim, I'd be interested to hear in this thread only from those who have got it installed and loaded fine. To the point where you are actually flying and enjoying it. Not interested in major bugs, it's too early, as this is not meant to be a negative thread.

If you can fly fine and want to mention minor bugs that's OK, as long as you're flying and having fun that's fine. We have enough game breaking issues in other threads.

Would love to hear about your choices of planes, flight routes and starting locations.

Has anyone started career yet?

If you're too busy having fun then tell us tomorrow lol 😉😁

I was lucky and it only took about 1.5 hours to install and get flying.

I was able to make two short GA flights with the Cessna, but have spent most of the afternoon just getting my HOTAS configured in the sim, and adjusting the graphics.  Both flights were great as far as performance (I've only flying in my region so far, which is pretty rural). The graphics, lighting, traffic, and clouds are all BIG improvements. I live in New Hampshire's White Mountains and my one gripe so far are that they have trees was too high up the mountains. Timberline is about 4200 feet here, yet the sim has trees placed 1000 feet higher than that.  I know it's a little thing, but my local mountains look a bit off without those bare summits, which is too bad, as they look so much better in every other way.

The sim crashed when I was messing around with the flight planner, and now I can't log in again (too many users).  They NEED to fix this fast, or this release is going to get off to a really bad bunch of reviews.

I have the Premium Deluxe Edition, yet I only have access to 4 aircraft in free flight. I haven't tried any other mode yet.

MS Store, only because that's how I bought MSFS 2020.  I do have fiber optics internet, with great speeds and I'm sure that really helped. Plus I started setup right at 11:00.

So far we have 1 ouch!

Install started 10am CST. Flying 11:10ish. Flew local to see my house, updated pass showed my new shop. Started new flight and flew the Grand Canyon - spectacular. Loaded Manhattan. Sim crashed about 10 minutes in. Reboot and reloaded sim, maybe three minutes and tried again. Flew around about 20minutes. Quit flight to try flight along trans Canada Hwy from Calgary through Rockies. Hit the queue. Crashed after a while, and now stuck loading.

Now watching comedy and verbal jousting on a popular flight sim forum.

I was able to take of twice, but haven't stayed flying lone enough to land yet. Besides the big crash to desktop. I had a couple of crashes to main menu, which ended both flights.

Yeah it's a shame. But to be fair they will fix it.

I made it into the main menu after installing. Thought to myself "Hey, that wasn't too bad. I'll quit the sim for now and fire it up again after a spot of dinner."... little did I know. Been enjoying FS20 instead tonight. I somehow don't believe this will be resolved until at least next week, seems like a humongous screw up and from what it looks like it's across multiple fronts too.

Steam user. Started downloading around 1830Z. Took a loooooooong time to load, but was ready by the time I took another look at 2100Z.

Performance seems fine. UI is slicker. Like the new control assignment. Visuals are improved, grass looks muuuuch better. Default airports are meh, but they always were.

Checked out a few aircraft. The A330 looks nice - typical iniBuilds job, looks about on par with their A320. The Saab 340 seems OK, though sounds are nothing to write home about. The sound on the PC-12 is just weird - isn't this a turboprop? The 172 seems similar to MSFS 2020.

Started a career. Did the intro flight, then straight into the PPL exam (just a lap around the pattern). Completed my first mission, a sightseeing flight, then tried to start my second one, but it got stuck loading. Restarted the sim and unsurprisingly hit the queue. I'll try again tomorrow.

First impression is positive. Of course it's a stock sim with no addons (I haven't tried putting anything in Community yet). Looking forward to exploring the Career more.

after original install tried the a330 in vr, looked ok and perf wasn't bad at all, promising.  then made a mistake of exiting out, can't get the thing to restart due to 'too many users trying to connect all at once.'

understand new install is slamming the servers but why is this preventing those with the client already installed?  it's so frail the license server is also slammed?

yup, multiple screwups. back to mfs2020.

I had no issues for an hour or so, other than the horrendous controller configuration. Geeze, could that configuration be any weirder?

Were they trying to make the controller config more "upity intellectual" than it really should be, and I would say YES.

Other than that, I had 2 big disappointments, the PG and the Clouds. The PG looks the same as before, and the clouds, well different but not necessarily better.

Otherwise, at ground level the game does look much better, but beyond that, I don't see a huge difference.

Honestly, a bit of a money grab at these prices. Not saying entirely, we'll see, but a little for sure.

I think we have a couple of successes and a couple of 'halfs' so far. 'Half' being loaded fine flew then crashed then stuck in queue. It's actually great to finally hear what the product is like on day 1.

I suspect the smart simmers will soon cotton on that leaving the sim open when finishing for the first few days /weeks will really help out despite being not at all environmentally friendly! I mean powered up too as I'm sure they'll detect inactivity and chuck you off if you're in standby mode.
