There is a freeware CYYC in the Orbx forums that includes the new runway. its in “Community Scenery Addons” revised CYYC by Larry Isenor I believe you’ll need to have the ORBX NRM region though

I believe you will see a decent increase in performance for sure, not super drastic, but should see some performance in my opinion, that being said, the 1180 is just around the corner.

In my opinion you need a strong mind, a good heart and a good soul to power through this life. It seems that you have all, you’ve taken the time to apologize to strangers on a forum, thinking of others even though it sounds as though life has thrown you a bit of a curve ball, I’ve got a lot of respect for that. I’m not a religious Man but I am somewhat spiritual and I believe these types of things don’t go unnoticed. That is strange, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling chaseplane?

Exclude Chaseplane in your antivirus or windows defender and see if that helps

I have mine on a separate HDD and it works great! Doesn’t slow down anything.

A couple of questions before you Overclock: What Kind of motherboard do you have? Do you have a higher end cpu cooler? You’re not going to want to OC without a good cooler Also, what make and wattage of PSU (power supply) do you have?

I agree with vgbaron, you will need to OC your 7700. I still use my 2700k @4.8ghz with a GTX 1070ti and 16GB ram and P3D V4.3 runs better than any sim I own, I have them all except for Aerofly. I use ORBX,ASV4,REX TD,REX SF, PTA, Almost all add on aircraft you can think of and my sim is near perfect smoothness, The main settings I need to watch are: Building Density (I leave at normal, could go to high but I’m fine with it) Autogen Density (Dense, could also go higher but I’m fine with this as well) And Autogen distance (medium, any higher and I start to lose performance) all other settings I can do whatever I want with, if my system can run this sim, yours (with an OC) will do just fine. I have seen a lot of yours and many others shots in the ORBX screenshot forum, one of the many reasons I’m looking into getting PTA, they look so good, just want to make sure my old system won’t buckle under the possible load, sounds like it’s not that invasive or that hard on performance, so I think I’ll give it a go! Hello all, I’m looking for some info on what looks like a pretty cool program, I’m a long time Simmer since 85’ and truly dedicated since FS 95 and I am frequently on the ORBX forums. I’ve recently moved on from FSX SE (ran best on my system compared to other versions, FSX gold, P3D V2 ect.) to P3Dv4 and have to say I’m very happy, probably should have done it long ago. My sim runs perfectly smooth on my system: i7-2700k @4.8 ghz, MSI GTX 1070ti, 16 GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit,P3Dv4.3 (upgrade coming in the near future, just can’t part with my system, it’s been really good to me) So I have a few questions about PTA before I take the plunge. 1- Is there a noticeable performance impact using this program? 2- Do I have to have HDR enabled in P3D? 3- Is it somewhat similar to what Shade is to FSX? 4- Any issues with ASV4, REX TD or any other addons? I’m assuming not but thought I’d ask I’m sure these answers are out there somewhere but I’m just to damn lazy to look for them 😉 Thanks, Greg Z

For what it’s worth, This has also never happened to me, I’ve never had a crash or a preset lost with Chaseplane Mabey another issue is at play?

It’s almost a lottery when picking your parts, in my opinion there are just too many variables that come into play when wanting to know what your gains will be. if you did upgrade you might find that the 8700k wasn’t what you expected, or it might blow you away by how much better it performed if I were to guess though, it might not raise your FPS a whole lot, depending on your settings. the 6700k is a decent chip though

Hi, first off I’ll tell you what I’m using for P3D V4 as I have just switched recently from FSX SE DX 10 System: ASUS P8z77 vpro/thunderbolt MOBO i7-2700k @ 4.8 cooled with H80i GTX 1070ti 16gb ddr3 gskill 1866mhz cl10 samsumg 1tb ssd for P3D V4 corsair 250gb ssd for OS win 7 64bit 850w Corsair PSU my P3D settings are considered “Medium/High” and I am absolutely blown away by how well it performs on this old beast of mine (average FPS is 45 almost everywhere and smooth, I love it!) The following would be the Top end of What “I” would suggest if you can afford it and what I will most likely upgrade to myself, MOBO: any ASUS Maximus LGA1151 board (Hero or Formula are great over clocking boards) PROC: Intel i7 8700k (your choice but you need something extremely fast to get the best performance from P3D V4) Cooler: Corsair makes good ones, but many are available GPU: GTX 1080 or a Higher or equal GPU RAM: At least 16gb (important) of the fastest memory compatible with MOBO of your choice ( speed (MHz) not super important, but it may help) Kingston, Corsair, Gskill and Crucial are great brands PSU: high end, do not cheap out on this piece, get at least a 800w to 1000w, sounds like overkill but it’s worth it, Corsair makes fantastic PSU SSD: your choice, but I would say, something with a lot of space for the sim and Mabey a separate ssd for the OS and of course a CASE with good airflow to fit it all in, there are to many to choose from This would be a “High end” starting point for you to do your research on cost to figure out if you just want to upgrade your system or do a full build for P3D My final advice, if you are a serious simmer, do not cheap out on your system, if not a serious simmer, do not cheap out on your system! Hi, I have just migrated from FSX SE (DX10) to P3D V4 and am extremely happy I have done so. The idea was to build a new system but this would set me back $4000 to $5000 Canadian dollars for the system I want which I don’t want to do just yet. System is from 2012 (except for GPU) i7 2700k @ 4.8ghz ,water cooled MSI 1070ti ASUS P8z77 pro thunderbolt Mobo corsair 800w PSU blah blah blah My settings are Medium/High or the same as FSX SE but with some of the “goodies” turned off or low, P3D V4 runs better, looks better, feels better and is way way way smoother with all of my V4 compatible addons installed, ie: All ORBX, Carenado, Alabeo, Q-400, ASV4, REX and many others. PMDG and A2A will be re purchased later on. Bottom line, if you get P3D V4 I’m sure you will be extremely happy, if not, you have 60 days to return Hope this helps,

I understand this is your opinion but I have been using BufferPools=0 , first on my i7-2700k with GTX 680, and now with a GTX 1070ti and it has been absolutely awesome since about 2011 or 12. The only tweaks I use for my FSX SE DX10 fixer is FFTF=.10 and BP=0 (as well as inspector settings) I have never had an issue, always crisp clear and 90% of the time 30fps what issues was it causing you if you don’t mind me asking?
