  1. Work is progressing on the Lear. She will be a beautiful addition to anyone's hangar. Click the link posted above for WIP pics and updates.
  2. I will make sure Mark see's this and try to get you a response. These do ring a bell as having been mentioned before. I seem to recall something about coding limits on the dual radio monitoring. I could be mistaken though. The OAT one is not one I have heard before and will see if I can reproduce the same bug. But I do know that Mark is extremely busy with the next project, the Lear 35. He is furiously modeling and writing code for it. Hoping to get the Lear into beta tests before too much longer.
  3. I get this same issue all the time. Wish I knew why it was doing this.
  4. I would like to see a switch to the better UI of the NGX Reboot. Not a huge change, but I do find the NGX Reboot much more pleasant to fly.
  5. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I too would love to have this aircraft. But with all the reports of insanely high VAS usage, I'll be holding off until this is fixed. If it ever does get addressed. Too many good products in development right now to throw money away. On the topic of throwing money away, anyone else disappointed with the newly revamped CS727? Got it off the ground, but couldn't bear to spend more time with it. Wish there were returns. If enough people requested returns, the devs might focus on actually improving their products. Or at least a way to trade licences, so that someone else who may enjoy it can remove it from my boneyard.
  6. I just emailed RA the other day asking when the P3D versions of the Legacy and Duke will be available as I miss them as well. They assured me that they are working on it still, and "soon" was the answer.
  7. I am currently running Win 8.1 Pro, and no issues with PMDG aircraft. Once you go through the hell of taking ownership of all your files, and run everything with admin rights, etc., It will all run smoothly.
  8. I cant agree enough. Personally, I am a systems depth guy. And frankly, once you fly one of PMDG's awesome planes, you will be hard pressed to find an equal. I know I hardly fly much of anything else since PMDG set the bar so high for other products. To echo whats above, dont be intimidated by the NGX, or P3D. The "hardest" part is learning how to program and interact with the FMC. But there are literally hundreds of videos to show you how. The ones I found most helpful, and truly inspiring, are the ones by Froogle. Particularly his Fully Loaded series. The NGX is really not that complicated once you learn what does what. So thats my 2 cents worth. I hope it helps you in your decision. Edit: If you get stuck, I would be happy to share what I have learned sometime. You will generally find the folks here to be very helpful. PM if I can be of any assistance.
  9. I would love to see a comprehensive guide on how to get started with these effects. Would be really useful for those of us that have no idea where to start.
  10. Wow, that triggered my memory. I did recently switch AI traffic programs. I bet that's it. Thanks guys. I'll test it out and confirm.
  11. This will have to be investigated. Could you provide more information? Is it an African or European Swallow? I cannot provide an accurate response as the different varieties of Swallows can have widely varying performance numbers.
  12. I know where PMDG can look if they need another beta tester. Ive only lived and breathed aviation for as long as I can remember. Professionally though, 21 years now working in aviation. Licensed A&P, Professional Line Service Tech, and frequently called the worlds largest source of useless information. Aviation and otherwise.
  13. Good morning all. So a couple weeks ago, for some reason I cannot find, P3D started to take forever to load. I have been timing it and it usually takes 3-4 minutes from clicking the icon (with admin rights), to the scenario setup screen. I have gone over every thing I can think of, but can not seem to find the culprit. The only notable item is a quick flash of the "Generating Scenery Indexes" bar with every launch. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the assistance.
  14. Thank you for this. Very much appreciated.
  15. I'm in the same boat. I got Xplane after watching one of the DC-6 beta test team's streams. Got it installed, and spent the next two hours configuring things in this very foreign environment. Quickly found out there is no SLI support, which frankly was disappointing, from the only 64bit game in town. Another hour or so trying to putz around in the 172 using my TrackIR, feeling as if I can't seem to get my further than 3" away from the instruments. I will admit, as the OP states, the visuals outside of being smashed against the instrument panel, are stunning compared to most of what I have experienced with FSX/P3D. But alas, the awkward (to a new user) controls and menus, gimped view presets, and having to resize my desktop to get the cursor to actually point where it should as I run in UHD, got the best of me and I haven't touched it since. It looks to have lots of promise, if I can find the time to sit down and relearn (unlearn) everything I know about flight sims. It truly does have potential though. The limited AI traffic did look amazing. I was in awe as the wonderfully done C-130 flew over my little 172. Perhaps if SLI is ever offered, and I actually get the time to learn, I will give it another go.
  16. I was surprised to see this announced out of no where. However I reckon I will save the money for a future aircraft based on what I have seen so far. And I have been dying to get my hands on a nice 3 hole tubeliner. It seems all of the previous projects, that were great, have been left to rot. Thanks PMDG/A2A/RA for setting the bar so high.
  17. Ebs, i think you hit the nail on the head with both of your posts here. The future will surely be interesting. With LM working on P3D, and DTG on FSX:SE, there is more potential in the industry than there has been in years.
  18. That's awesome. I would love to get some time in a sim like that.
  19. I just talked to Mark about this and the all lights with the exception of the cabin and VC lights are hard coded and cant be changed. This was done for better visibility of the effects from the internal views. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I wanted to make sure your question did not go unanswered. I am curious about your repaints. Can never have enough paint jobs available for the truly great birds. Happy Flying!
  20. Hello everyone. At the request of customers Mark has whipped up a patch that will allow you to assign the lighting and Anti-Ice systems via externally connected hardware. To download the patch please click on the link below. Thanks all and happy flying! http://www.flysimware.com/website/MU_2B_60.html
  21. Happy to hear you got most of your issues with the MU corrected. What I typically do for decent, is basically the same as for climb. I use the GTN750's built in vcalc tool to tell me when to start my decent. For a typical decent I would do the following. Typically I am at FL26-FL28 in cruise, ALT and Nav modes on. First I set the desired altitude into the altitude window. Then dial in the altitude I am descending too, click the VS button on the AP panel. Lastly, I go down to the AP master panel and dial in the the desired VS. For me this is usually -1500 FPM, power levers back to 40% torque. This keeps the speed up where you want it. From what I can see from your post the only thing you are missing to use the VS mode for decent is to dial in the VS on the lower AP panel. Hope this helps and brings you even more enjoyment of the MU. She is a great bird to fly around, and awfully damn fast for a turboprop. I love getting ground speeds of 320-330, all the while burning only 500-600lbs of fuel per hour.
  22. It is still very early in the development process. If you look Mark's previous projects, you will see a step up in quality with each one. And this one will certainly be the next step in improvement. We have lots of work to do, but will keep you all posted as development continues.
  23. I run an Acer XB280HK with twin MSI GTX 970's. Both FSX SE and P3D 2.5 look stunning in 4K. However, from what I have read the real bottleneck in these 32bit sims is the processor. I have the fantastic i7 4790k that I haven't even started overclocking. Just some food for thought.
  24. I could get behind this. Ive fueled so many over the years that it would be great to have a higher quality version. Or a revamp to the T-38 with the more modern avionics would be nice as well.
