sounds like a bios setting difference or something going on with the new RAM, no one should see performance reduction from increasing system memory, just doesnt make sense. I can agree that you don't need 64GB RAM........right now...hehehe

I will explain my concern with this situation if Aerosoft AND developers like PMDG, ect use this install procedure...... I don't know how many aircraft I will obtain for years to come but I can assure you I do not want to wait around 7 or so minutes PER AIRCRAFT. Lets say I have 5 from Aerosoft and 7 from PMDG, that is 84 minutes. My concern is not for the initial installs because I wont be installing all 12 aircraft one after another as I will be getting them at different times. BUT if I have to reinstall the sim THEN I would be. there is 84 minutes just for those aircraft. Ok, so sim reinstalls hopefully will be few and far between. Lets not forget about the warning that this could occur after an update. Well....you can see where i'm going with this. I hope for all of us that this won't be the case with a lot of aircraft. Maybe multiple aircraft can be doing this process simultaneously utilizing our nice multicore CPUs. Just a thought, thats all.

Though side note, we really dont need that kind of speed....7000MB/sec Trust me, the sim still boots up slow. This COULD be true but I can tell you that in my case I set the profile and it went to 3600mhz as expected without any issues. I would think this result would be common and what you are describing is few and far between maybe.

much like windows right now, they keep updating windows 10 instead of new versions (xp, vista, 7, ect) every few years. Though we dont pay for win10 upgrades, we should pay for newer msfs upgrades to keep the platform alive, unless they have a different strategy.

What cooler and temps do you get? are you using stock speeds with natural boosts or are you doing a manual all core OC? I have a 360mm AIO cooler that seems to do pretty well with my setup. I dont get higher than 75c on my 4.5 all core oc (though im considering going back to stock to get the faster single core speed bump improvement)

System memory would be fine at 16GB if your on a tight budget
