November 5, 201015 yr I think PMDG should have hired a professional communications and media specialist instead of trying to tiptoe through the minefield of public expectations. It is very rare to see the CEO or immediate staff front up to the public without professional media help for this very reason. The answer from here is very simple - BE HONEST. If you can't meet a promised 2010 deadline, just say so. We are not going to think any less of PMDG and it would silence the critics. It's easy...."Due to a variety of development issues we have reviewed our release date until 2011".Andrew VincentCommunications and Media Consultant (For Hire) :(Andrew, I think if there is no definate possibility of a 2010 release they would have said so a while ago. As far as I can see, what they are saying is that they do not know whether it will be 2010/11. Personally, with flightsim developers, I like hearing directly from the people who are actually involved with the building process. Its always so much more reassuring to hear from the top dogs within the company. Sam Crawford "Don't judge the intelligence of an individual by the number of posts that they have made. Wait until they say something stupid first." CTC Cadet - www.ctcwings.co.uk
November 5, 201015 yr It's not like any of us were running a bussines and PMDG was a provider on which we depend to meet our own deadlines is it? no one has paid for the NGX so far, so no one is a paying consumer so far, no one promised (great big facepalm for you here) anything as for release dates. No one has the right to complain. Period. I've been a software developer for quite some time now (and for the record I paid my college working as a pizza boy and always tip them well hehe) and I know how frustrating can be to have clients changing project specs at mid development and still think there's no side effects and they still want things delivered fast and bug free. Of course this is not necessarily the case here, just an example of how ridiculous things can get and what my joke was all about. People need to realise that there's an important component of vocation in this sort of business. Anyone can make a website for a real estate and then another one for a hotel chain, but it takes aviation passionate guys and gals to do something like this. Keep frustrating them like this and we'll end up flying half baked addons developed by flightsim mercenaries If you can't meet a promised 2010 deadline, just say so. We are not going to think any less of PMDG and it would silence the critics. It's easy...."Due to a variety of development issues we have reviewed our release date until 2011".Andrew VincentCommunications and Media Consultant (For Hire) :(
November 5, 201015 yr All of the above. well, actually I phoned them to change the ingredients so many times that it hasn't arrived yet. Of course I phoned again to complain about the delayDid Dominos respond to your complaint by updating their website to say ' Pizzas will be ready when their finished, this could be tomorrow or this could be 2014. If you would like to complain I will forward you an unmonitored email address so you can voice your displeasure' Mike Kendall

November 6, 201015 yr Here is my view on the release stuff.. PMDG will have it done as soon as possible, but no one is sure about how many little bugs may come up in BETA, for all we know they might have issues that delay to 2014 (As was stated) because they don't know the margin of errors that will need fixing up, PMDG i believe are great developers and im sure everyone will agree, but everyone makes mistakes and they will fix them. You can only become great at something by making mistakes, but never the same one twice. They say 2010.. it may be delayed a week, month or year, just depends on how beta goes. Please note i have no idea as to how pmdg are doing things or what stage they are at, it is just my opinion and nothing more. Thanks Full Specs: Gigabyte Z68 UD7 | Intel Core i7 2600K OC @ 4.2GHz | ASUS HD7970 DIRECTCU2 TOP | 8GB (4X2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 | Corsair HX850W | Corsair H70 | NZXT Phantom White Case | 3 X 24" ACER V242HL Screens
November 6, 201015 yr Anders, I'm not replying directly to your post, but to all of those complaining about "stupid crap" in this thread and elsewhere. This is an open forum. If people remain courteous to one another, we welcome posts on almost any topic. If people wish to wile away the time they are waiting for an exciting product release by posting non technical comments, that's fine. If you wish to have a serious discussion, then please start your own thread. When there is an update by PMDG in regards to the NGX or any other product or issue, we will post it in a new topic and pin it. If you wish to read replies by PMDG members within this or any other thread, then yes, you must read through other comments that you might not be interested in.The one thing we don't welcome in this forum is complaining. There are thousands of people using this forum, and only a handful enjoy filling up threads with their complaints about other people filling up threads with "unserious crap". If the jovial comments continue to disturb you, you are always welcome to click here.Have a nice day.The ending was the best, thanks Vin Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
November 6, 201015 yr I think PMDG should do what Level-D does and don't post anything. Just announce the the product they are going to work on and say nothing more until it's ready to roll from the hanger! Too many idiots keep asking the same questions and I'm sure it holds up the work! Just look at the past PMDG products! They will not let us down! People here aren't idiots. They simply want their question answered and most obviously learn after being told the first time that PMDG updates when there's something to update the community on, and released when it's ready. Just that simple. Erik L.

November 6, 201015 yr Now is a good time to remember that all good things come to those who wait. While we wait, we can continue to enjoy the PMDG 747, PMDG MD-11, PMDG J41...Hmm do we see a pattern developing here? I think it will be worth the wait. Everything else these guys have developed has been. Now...let's fly :( Wayne Rose, KTRI
