December 2, 201015 yr Hi all,I did a search but couldn't find anything, so apologies if this has been covered--is there any payware or freeware scenery for FSX that models Washington National? Given the unique river visual approach it seems like a shame if there isn't anything...Thanks,James
December 3, 201015 yr All I've ever heard about KDCA so far, is this scenery update by Ray Smith of the default airport, on FlightSim.com. Other than that, I've never heard anything else about third party sceneries for KDCA. Dave. December 3, 201015 yr Hi James, you might want to try a version of KDCA by Kambiz Agazi, found in the library http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=kdca2009_ka.zip&CatID=fsx&Go=SearchLike Ray Smith, Kambiz invests quite a bit of time in providing up-to-date freeware airport scenery for FSX and does a very good job. Hope it works for you. Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B. Aorus 650 Elite V2.0/32GB GSkill Trident 6000-CL30/Nvidia 1080 Ti./Seasonic Focus 1200W PSU.
December 4, 201015 yr Author Kendall,Thanks for the tip! Kambiz Agazi's scenery looks like the closest to what I was looking for.James
July 21, 201411 yr About 4 years passed, any news regarding this? FS2004 has a great KDCA addon made by Cloud9. Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto
July 21, 201411 yr Hello, There is a payware version by Tropicalsim which, in fact, is quite good. Tropicalsim is maybe less known but they produce fine scenery Luc Brusselmans Belgium
July 21, 201411 yr Here's the link for the Tropicalsim version, as Luc mentioned above. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
July 21, 201411 yr This is one airport that I would like to see done again...especially for the river visual to 19...down the Potomac past the Georgetown riverfront, Roosevelt Island, Arlington, monuments and parks. July 21, 201411 yr Moderator This is one airport that I would like to see done again...especially for the river visual to 19...down the Potomac past the Georgetown riverfront, Roosevelt Island, Arlington, monuments and parks. What do you mean you'd like to see it done again? What's wrong with the newest Tropical Sim version that requires another remake? Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 21, 201411 yr Author As the thread starter (4 long years ago!), I can mostly vouch for the Tropicalsim version. It's not bad (and infinitely better than default), although slightly rougher on frames than I'd like. Definitely the best thing out there. James
July 21, 201411 yr I agree with James, Tropical Sim KDCA is pretty good especially when they have a sale at simmarket. Yes, the frames are somewhat demanding compared to other paywware (IMO). July 21, 201411 yr Looks like it's gone on sale. What do you mean you'd like to see it done again? What's wrong with the newest Tropical Sim version that requires another remake? Just, to me, it doesn't look like the same quality you'd see from FlightBeam or FlyTampa. I already balk at buying an airport in isolation in a lot of cases. If I do buy one there's, generally, something pretty remarkable to it. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. July 21, 201411 yr KDCA is on sale at SimMarket right now for EURO 11.70. I also recommend TROPICALSIM's KSTL, KEYW & KSAN also on sale.
