December 6, 201015 yr Hi Ron, Yes I spoke with Christope and he advised me it is cominig out pretty soon and it will enhanced the current version tremendously...According the reports it should be able to compete face to face with any of the "big guys" out there...in fact it could well surpass in quality and functionality...Wilco has taken the Airbus version 1 and 2 very seriously and I am sure they will demonstrate the power they have and the work and effort they have put on this product... I am very happy..since there is no other Airbus out there anywhere close to Wilco's...So good for the Airbus fans. Thanks,John
December 6, 201015 yr I double that wish for sources, cites and quotes from Ron (no, don't quote Ron :(). Although I could be called a fan of the Wilco busses (as my Aerosoft one stays in the hangar and got replaced since I saw all the wrongness inside) I stay somehow skeptical on this. The flight sim world doesn't lack of superlatives on press texts and the descriptions from the devs itself, so I'm usually even more skeptical if one company announces the big bang. Yes, you are right, a somehow pessimistic view, I agree. So if there was an official statement apart from that one back in June, I would be very pleased to get a link to it.In the meantime, the Wilco and that MCDU upgrade from Eric do the Airbus job on my system. Not extremely good but best in class so far. Wilco had some good releases in the past and some very weak ones too, so I have mixed emotions about new titles I admit. The "PIC" stuff usually was on the very brighter side of flight sim software.
December 6, 201015 yr FSX and today's PCs will NEVER be able to simulate an Airbus. No Wilco, no Aerosoft and nobody will be able to codify Airbus fly-by-wire systems, meaning a correct computerized flight-control system that overrides the pilots decisions when flying outside the correct performance limits. No one will release a product for PCs that simulates real FBW system based on flight-envelope protection coupled with computerized fuel management controls for economy cruise mode(s). Nobody will codify the millions of lines to simulate the data transmitted to the ECAM in real time. I am sorry to say that the Aerosoft bus is a beautiful empty shell and the Wilco bus flies like a 777.With the upcoming "Pro", or "Premium" or "Advanced" or "V2.0" versions, their Airbus will look like an Airbus, will smell like an Airbus but will have the taste of a Boeing.Just my 2 cts. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
December 6, 201015 yr And I thought I was pessimistic, David. Well, one can always get better and you see me not being one of the so "realistic" enhanced guys around so I can surely live with a better but not THE representation of an Airbus in FSX. I don't expect any other thing here, regardless if it's coming from Wilco, Flight Sim Labs or Aerosoft. The Aerosoft stuff was and still is wrong in many ways (and in my eyes) while e. g. the Wilcos could be better on others but don't go for funny "easy" things but just simulate as good as they can/could.So I'm looking forward to e. g. a nicely modeled MCDU, correctly flown managed modes, some more or less right calculations and (referring to the current Wilcos) maybe some systems getting modeled in some more details. So no wonders expected, just improvements and I really doubt that I and many other flight sim fans will have a problem with a not 100% as real experience there.I can't see any 100% bird (Boeing, Airbus or whatever) out there but I know that some guys need this image for their ego or something to actually fly when sitting in front of a TFT, grabbing some plastic stick or yoke and moving virtual wipers against even more virtual raindrops.I'm definitely not corresponding to you on this as you seem like a fellow flight sim user with a realistic point of view.So I don't expect a holy grail coming up from Wilco or even Flight Sim Labs but I expect an improvement over any current release and a more immersive overall experience. I've read too much about "sophisticated systems", "custom made flight models" and "real world pilots involved in development" while some things were just standard, completely wrong or even a lie (which is my very personal point of view on some things of course). All those marketing words are meant to trigger some enthusiastic actions, and the first of those actions is the actual buying process. So lets just wait and state that an improvement on Airbus releases will surely come up and forget about this (maybe intended) 100% point of view which can't be achieved in my eyes and also doesn't need to be achieved. From the very procedural point of view (do this first, check that, proceed with next), there is some potential in the current flight sim world while the real feel of an aircraft and the more or less confidential insights on its system will be hard to develop. Either it's your hardware which gives you a "wrong" feeling or your setup and often enough you'll just expect too much from a 40 or 60 Euros addon software on a game-biased software like FSXSo I see your first sentence as a very right one and just expand it with "we actually don't need those 100% and shouldn't raise the expectations towards it".

December 6, 201015 yr Funny, i was JUST looking for a forum to appropriately post a thread about the Wilco products...more specifically the Airbus Vol 2 series. I purchased this a couple of weeks back and really didn't get around to really "flying" one of these until yesterday eve. I'd been honeing my IFR/ILS skills in the MSFS Default B737. Anywho, I loaded up an A340, took off from KSFO, spent about 5 minutes or so searching for all the autopilot functions in the Airbus (big diff compared to a Boeing) and when all was well, I noticed how when I am viewing the aircraft from outside, the sounds are rather quiet...kinda like being inside the cockpit but when I switch to the cockpit, it sounds like I am flying with the cockpit windows open. Anyone else have this problem with the sound? Of course, at the end of my flight, MSFS crashed. I can't say that I am disappointed with Wilco's products but I am sure there are issues that need to be addressed, so IF they are releasing upgrades, hopefully they will address these issues. I also own the PMDG 747-400X, but haven't delved deep enough into that one yet...I am sure she's a complicated one to fly. I'm in no hurry trust me...sometimes when i want a simple flight, I just fall back on the MSFS defaults, but yesterday I let curiosity get the best of me and I felt like I needed a challenge.Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

I have never been happy with anything I've bought from them, there always something in there products that has to suck and it seems to stick out to me. Airbus FBW, ERJ night night lighting etc etc....I could go on forever about them, they literally have ZERO support, on top of all that there products are way to much money. O ya and nice try releasing a 195/175 WITHOUT any changes to the actual flight model ...just a bit of an external mod., but charging everyone for it! The documentation in there products is awaful, the claim to not have x64 support (what?), o ya one last thing, nice try giving me your "CALL" with a new product...makes me wanna buy it now. I hope they do have a nice upgrade for the Buses but it better be cheap because the first time round wasn't done properly (FBW while flaring in Direct Law) but we'll see. I for one will not be buying it on release, I'll wait to see what everyone thinks before I dumb more of my hard earned cash into that. Just my 2 cents. December 6, 201015 yr I think a souped-up Wilco 'Bus could be pretty cool myself. Whilst it is true that many of us have high hopes for Aerosoft's promised hard core version and look forward to seeing FSL's one that is in the pipeline, the only present contender that has put their chips actually on the table for anything other than an unashamedly 'lite' Airbus, is Wilco (if you discount Simcheck's excellent non-FBW A300 that is). So really, at the moment that does make Wilco the main contender in so far as actually having a track record, because the other potential contender - Airsimmer - does indeed seem to be air simmering rather than coming up to the boil at the moment.Whilst I do agree with David that no home PC is gonna nail an Airbus one hundred percent - even the 20 million buck Level-D simulators the airlines use don't do that - the truth is that no home PC is ever going nail any aircraft one hundred percent, so I don't think the fact that an Airbus is going to be hard to simulate necessarily means there won't be a worthy attempt at it on a PC within the realms of what is possible. I'm looking forward to seeing what Wilco come up with, as indeed I am with all the other pretenders to the crown. Ironically, it's an interesting time ahead we have for short/medium haul airliners; we're very soon going from virtual famine to feast with both the 737 and the A320 in the coming months, and all this just as MS are about to ditch backward compatibility with these airborne wonders in their new sim outing. If you think people can get partisan about FS9 and FSX, just wait for some of the three-way 'which is the best sim' arguments to start when all that lot is available!Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
