My Vote..Quest Kodiak v2.6

Featured Replies

I purchased the Quest Kodiak v2.6 yesterday, and have just taken a flight from KORS to CYYF. This has got to be the BEST plane for any of ORBX PNW scenery sets. The BEST!From the 750 HP turbine jet engine, on through to the avionics G1000; this was one of the most pleasurable flight experiences ever. This plane will get you in and out of EVERYWHERE! I mean, EVERYWHERE!The STOL capabilities for tight mountain valley and lake approaches is fantastic. Crack that last notch of flaps...and you will get your butt down anywhere....:)This might become my default plane for FSX. Oh heck...let's come clean...it has become, LOLThe plane is very well done, with the ability of placing it in either FSX and/or FS9. In both platforms this is a MUST HAVE plane. I am so glad that somebody on another thread mentioned it, as I had missed this superb gem! Coming into CYYF today with snow showers and this plane, was stunningly real...Final comment, if you add this jewel to the ORBX deadly-trio....it IS as real as it gets!http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Kodiak.htmlBack to CYYF...

I normally use the Lancair - though it's not exactly a short field plane... with a 10 kt headwind you can get it down pretty well with a 3000 footer :)Otherwise I'll use Ant's Tecnam Sierra.

--------------------------------------------------I have found that with the Kodiak, you can land in a short open field, if needs be, yet the airframe, passenger, and cargo capability is huge. No wonder this beast costs 1.6 million. This one is an absolute-'sleeper-winner'Powerful take-off, whether on land or water, and is a beauty to handle.... man, if you could afford this as your private 'ride' with the floats package and landing gear...there would be no where unavailable to you!I'm so glad that somebody else pointed it out! :)

I might as well mention you (as in other users) can get it for cheap right now through PC Aviator!http://www.pcaviator.com/store/product.php?productid=18374&cat=0&page=1

Buying directly from the developer when given the option is always nice because you know 100% of your money is going to them.

I can confirm the version from PC Aviator is v2.6.Couldn't resist it at that price. ;)David

Agree this is a very nice airplane! Two things that make it even better are1. A "Banana Bob" repaint (if you can find it somewhere)2. Some modifications to the G1000 to make it look and work more like the real thingI cannot help you with 1. but PM me if you would like some help with 2. :(

Oh damn! Didn´t see this offer on PCaviator, took the Carenado C206 instead. Also very nice for ORBX/OZx flying.

Best regards, Steffen

I got the Kodiak last year when it was on sale and had no idea that there had been updates all the way to v2.6. Thanks for the heads up Mitch, I will have to head over to his site and get the updates.

You really got to PM Bert, because his G1000 mod makes the usage of the Kodiak's G1000 a LOT better. I wouldn't fly the plane without his mod.

Version 2.6 was released October 29th 2009, so if you bought it during last years christmas sale, you already have version 2.6.

Totally agree! this is the plane I fly most. fast enough to cover some ground and slow enough for short fields, especially if your reverse the prop. You can stop on a dime and give two cents change.Really great for full IFR operation also.Vic
