Is there anyway to improve?
Yes, there is something to do...
Intel Quad Core i7 (2.93ghz)
... try overclock this. It should be running stable at 4.0Ghz, maybe 4.2.

UNLOCK YOUR FPS

UNLOCK YOUR FPS
Yes! I agree with further overclocking as well. However, setting the FPS within FSX to unlimited may have been the single biggest improvement I saw in quite some time. I had set mine to a limit of 25 FPS, which I am personally very happy with as long as it's consistent. I was getting 13-14 FPS with complex add-ons. With it set to unlimited I get 25-27 FPS in the same situations.

Can you imagine if Boeing would tell their customers that the delayed 787 will be delivered the day is ready and to please dont ask anymore about it and if they do, they will delete their messages?Just to compare a little bit of a relationship with customers .I feel that is so unfair that PMDG doesn't even say an approx. date of release or at least, guys its not gonna happen in the next three months. It sort of feels that PMDG knows they have a a hot/best product, and that we will buy it anyways no matter how we are treated.Daniel Groisman

There is quite a difference we are not yet customers, no one payed anything yet, and of course Boeing as Well as Airbus deal with pretty huge amounts, but they also have thousands of people at work, and they also do know delays both the latest Boeing and Airbus have ended up getting quite delayed, and as such I would see PMDG as just the same, like the little structural weakness of the 787 they had to redesign some pieces to strengthen the plane, it just took months for something that is incredibly when it is said simple, but have so much implications.I don't believe giving a date they are not sure to match would make things better or worst as in the end the date approaching people will just start asking more and more, and after the date if it is not ready, it will just be the samething again and again. I think PMDGs can be trusted from their previous works that they just don't want to deliver something they are not proud of, and that is something I appreciate, so many companies rush and seels unfinished products (not only FS Addons developers), that it is good to see they really polish it to the end. And I can't be sure of it but some times being a licensed products also increase the weight I think, as an example from the Video Games industry for the first Test Drive Unlimited they used the real cars models, and as such many of the constructors just wanted (even only for the visual aspects) to check what would be in the game so they would have to send things back and forth between them and the constructor, for each variation and do this for each modifications, and until everyone is satisfied. Of course here it might not be the case, maybe all the works reside in the coding, but it still is something that can happen.Cheers

Quick question about frame rates. When I check mine (CTRL+Z), the numbers keep changing rapidly, and are all over the map. It goes from something like 9, to 34, to 28, to 46, to 25, to 10, to 51.....all in the span of about 5 seconds. How do I lock on to the "actual" frame rate?

Set your FPS limiter in FS to unlimited and then use external FPS limiter locked to 25-30 fps. It will give you nice performance boost to FSX.Ivan Barsovsky

Daniel,The biggest difference with Boeing and PMDG is that Boeing's customers pay hundreds of millions of dollars in deposits to secure a position on the assembly line. The customers have every right to question Boeing why the 787 is 3 years late and demand compensation and so on. PMDG on the other hand, our customers have NOT paid a cent to us to secure a guaranteed product when it is released nor do we ever ask them to do so. It is not in our policy and we are far, far smaller than Boeing, on the bright side, they have helped us with the NGX. So to hold PMDG hostage against a supposed release date that has long passed is unfair.Which means, we will release when the NGX is ready and that we ask that everybody exercises patience and understanding while we work our tails off in the hangar. Trust me when I say the NGX is going to be mind blowingly awesome... just WAIT.Stay tuned,

Besides Jason's very good point about customers having already paid Boeing for their products:Daniel, have you even slightly followed the 787 program? There's been 5+ major delays and it's currently 3+ years late and billions of dollars over budget. There is no "release date" for it from Boeing, they have readily stated they don't know when deliveries will actually take place right now. The idea that Boeing doesn't have delays on real aircraft is ridiculous - the 787 program is completely notorious for it. http://en.wikipedia....delivery_delays You have not paid us for the NGX, you have no stake in it the way that Boeing's customers do in their airplanes that they have already paid for and thus you're not entitled to any of our internal development information. Go ask Ford or Chevy if you can have all their development info on two years from now's car model because you might buy it when it's released - see what they tell you. Same exact idea.We don't have "delays" here - there has never ever been a hard release date for this product - anything we have ever said was our internal target estimate at the time - this changes in an unpredictable way and we've always said that.

delays are not what people are getting cross about now-a-days, its the lack of explination and communication from the top downwards.

Well I suppose I should mention that the team is currently very busy with the development of the NGX, when one of us has time to give an update in the forum, we will. I think somebody mentioned a few days ago that if the team were to constantly answer questions in the forum, that takes time away from development. Now would we want to hold up release? As far as updates go, there isn't a new update yet other than what we've given in the past. We have been more than generous with updates about the NGX in the past and there shall be more updates down the pipeline, patience and understanding is all we ask. Lets let the team continue concentrating on finishing the NGX?Stay tuned,(Gone back into the hangar to continue hammering away...)
