Externalities and the NGX

Resetting circuit breakers is always a guessing game as you never quite know why it popped. They are designed that when the connected wire is pulling to much amperage they pop open. It may be something as simple as an internal shortage in the part. Or as I have seen on the helicopters I work on after years of vibrating against frames/stringers and other various components the coating wears off causing it to short to ground. In cases like that if you have said wire around an area where hazardous fluids like to pool up resetting the circuit breaker can have dire consequences. Or just it merely shorting out against the airframe can cause any flammable solids to catch as well. The famous case for me that comes to mind is that MD-11 where the in flight entertainment system had been installed incorrectly, and it wound up catching the "fire proof" material on fire in the overhead.

I did say that fuselage animations are important. The guy who replied to my post was who said it wasn't.
Matheus-Ooos... yes, I stand corrected! On the topic of external animations- here is an image that will give you an idea how detailed this airplane model is...To extend and retract the flaps on this airplane, we thought it would be interesting to model them in detail. To do this, Jason capitalized on our engineering access and used the plan views for the actuator assemblies to create the actuators within the wing of the model...They are hard to see unless you have a product that allows you to move around the wing of the airplane- but they are in there- AND THEY MOVE CORRECTLY.Even the jackscrew rotates appropriately- and can be seen from the right locations...This image is a render that Jason created to show you whats going on inside those flap jack fairings:NGX_External_Preview_014.jpgThis is not something we created just for this render- these actuators are actually on the model, and operating inside the sim.I told you were were going for details. :(

Wow Robert.. Right down to the torque tubes in the wings and jack screws! Simply amazing.. I imagine you are talking about a program like 3DS Max or something to actually see them? I don't think there would be any way to see them inside the sim... Next you will be showing us the hydraulic reserviors, and everything else hidden under the skin right? :(

Steve-Ah- yes- i'll get you an image of them. They are (correctly) located inside the gear bays...And yes- you can suffer damage to the reservoirs if certain abnormal conditions are not handled correctly... (think: wheel well fire...)

Robert -I shall air my displeasure next time I speak to anyone in a suit around the report centre in T5... there's usually a few scratching their heads looking for something to do...you never know biggrin.gif

My case is exactly the opposite. There's an airline here in Brazil that ONLY HAS NGs. And more than a hundred of them. With others being manufactured and including the Sky Interior. gol_737.jpgHad to cut the other one out. Was copyrighted.

I agree. Man, even the flap actuators! And we barely can see them.

To think I was joking too (forgot the hyd rez was in the wheel bays). Yeah hydraulic systems do not like heat very well. I know that one from work. You run the electric backup pump to long in the FL summer and you can kiss that pump and motor goodbye.

Thats sucks lol ah what airline do you fly for? Hopefully when i get out of the Air Force i can start looking to be hired by an airline, i need to start working on my pilot license but i'm doing college right now, bachelors degree is a necessity. For now though the PMDG 737NG will give me chance to fly my favorite plane as if i would be flying the real thing like working at an airline would.Big%20Grin.gif
