Thats sucks lol ah what airline do you fly for? Hopefully when i get out of the Air Force i can start looking to be hired by an airline, i need to start working on my pilot license but i'm doing college right now, bachelors degree is a necessity. For now though the PMDG 737NG will give me chance to fly fly my favorite plane as if i would be flying the real thing like working an airline would.Big%20Grin.gif
I haven't got a degree! Just good ol' A levels...although I am going back to uni...Erm seems the done thing is not to mention company names on forums so I'll conform, although I'll give you a clue, my forum name ;o) cough cough..haha

Hmmm wow I've been looking at airline hiring pages since i was i believe 16, Southwest airlines is the airline i hope to get hired for, they require a bachelors degree, have to be 23, and have some hours built up, look's like i'll be flying regional for a while when i start my pilot career off before i moving to up to the big boys.

Different over in the states I guess? Over here there's no real requirements to be honest anyone can start on a modular course, integrated requires some academic qualifications but no airline I know of requires a degree...I've only ever had one job, and when I had the interview all they were interested in was my training record from oxford, didn't even look at my grades from A levels and that was 2-3 years ago ish.. hours wise, well I finished my MCC/JOC a month before joining BA! minimum hours baby!

I've been wanting to be a pilot since I was 14. Now I'm 16, so there's still a loooong way to go. I want to be hired by GOL, that airline I said that has only NGs. They don't require a degree here, but having one is also a good idea and I do want to have a bachelor degree. Currently I'm at high school and I want to go to UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro Federal College) to study Meteorology, that has everything to do with aviation BTW, and I also love it. I don't know in other countries, but here the best education institutions are the federal ones (there are also some good private ones, but they are quite expensive).

Dear Capt. Randazzo,Oh, man...STUNNING. You are going to absolutely blow the doors off of this hobby of ours with the NGX. Nobody has anything remotely close to this (er...except your other products, which keep getting better with each new release...747-400 fantastic, MD-11 even better, the J41 whoa!, THAT is a phenomenal experience to fly). The detail, the functioning ground equipment, the HUD!! I'm like a ten year old waiting for Christmas with this thing - cannot wait to actually fly it!Heads back down boys, heads back down. :( Cheers!Pat

Wow Robert.. Right down to the torque tubes in the wings and jack screws! Simply amazing.. I imagine you are talking about a program like 3DS Max or something to actually see them? I don't think there would be any way to see them inside the sim... Next you will be showing us the hydraulic reserviors, and everything else hidden under the skin right? :(
is there a way to see this working? is it possible to remove the outta skin, or is there any viewpoint? i love to see how things works, but i am a little bit worry i wont see it unless i spend 30 minutes to set up the cam correctlythank you robert! michael knittl
It can be seen from certain angles with EZ Dok, which is what I'm using to take my screenshots - most of the ones that use it are coming later tonight. The idea of having an option to make the wing fairings transparent to see this detail is interesting, I will ask Jason and Vin...http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ezdockcam

DarrylTwo words: Cheaper.Okay that was one word... Saved you 50%!!!
Here's a real-world example: I maintain a Gulfstream IV in R/W, and as it happens, we are going to be replacing the carbon brake pack on one wheel this coming week. The cost? $55,000!And that is for just one wheel (out of four). The steel version would cost less than half of that.Though the initial cost is very high, (compared to steel), it does even out in the long run, as the carbon brakes last much longer, and are indeed much much lighter in weight.Only real disadvantage to carbon brakes is that they release carbon dust every time they are applied, which causes the wheel rims to get quite dirty in short order- it keeps the maintenance staff busy washing the rims between flights. In the corporate/charter world, aircraft owners are pretty particular about their planes always looking clean- probably less an issue in airline service.Jim Barrett
