Externalities and the NGX

Will the vortex generators actually reduce sound in the cockpit, or are they just there for visual effect?

I know you build this bird based to blueprints, it looks great. but not everythink turns out to be like in the blueprints, so it needs adjustments, and there is where the human eye comes in to judge our process in any project right or wrong our Eyes and the Brain connected together make the last touch of Perfection and detail. I Love this Bird inside and outside Thanks for the hard work trying to make this bird look like a REAL BOEING. but then again I might be Right or Wrong you be the judgeSERGIO D. SALAMANCA

Nice pics PMDG!! Will the fanblades turn by the wind when it in shut down?

Im so frustrated. Got a 32" lcd monitor yesterday. Picked up my new pc with a 2600k I7 overclocked to 4.2ghz with a nvidia gtx580. Got REX, ORBX australia(awaiting NZ).....but still no NGX! Ahhh!!! Lol I must say this new system totally beats the crap outta my old toshiba a300 laptop! LOL bring on the NGX baby!Cameron Lett

I just hope the ngx doesnt cut the fps down to 5! :) Im sure it wont though.Oh also getting the track ir 5 this week and maybe a new joystick. Any recommendations re joysticks?

The Saitek ProFlight Yoke is always a good choice. Seems to be more robust than CH Products and I've had both.Cheers,Steve

Hello everybody, This is my first time ever posting something in a forum
Welcome to the forums of Precision Manuals Development Group, PMDG!
I know you build this bird based to blueprints, it looks great. but not everythink turns out to be like in the blueprints, so it needs adjustments, and there is where the human eye comes in to judge our process in any project right or wrong our Eyes and the Brain connected together make the last touch of Perfection and detail.
About the blueprints that's correct. They are using the official blueprints of Boeing itself. If a dimension of the 737NGX is incorrect, the blueprints of Boeing are incorrect. But in this case, your theory about the functioning of the humans eye and brains sounds plausible. Especially the construction image you uploaden convinced me about your theory. I'm curious how PMDG thinks of it.Good eye of detail!Regards,Steven-

I'm not really sure about that but I thought I read somewhere that the fans indeed will turn by wind when they are shut down. However, Robert already said when the fans are stationary, you can see right into the hot and cold sections. Ryan said, the animations are desynchronized from each other too. Meaning of this is that when you shut down the engines, you're not going to see both fans end up stopping in the same exact position with the same orientation of the anti-bird spiral on the spinner.Hope you got your answer! ;)Regards,Steven

Like everyone else on this forum i am very much looking forward to the release of the PMDG NGX. Could somebody tell me are there any plans to offer a paid Beta aircraft, much like DCS did (more accurately are doing) with the A-10? This method seems to offer everyone a happy ending, PMDG get money for there product, they get legions of beta testers, people who don't want to beta test have the chance to wait for the full release.Personally i don't see a downside to this.ThanksIan Tyldesley
call me tabs but this will not happen, nice method but they are hardly giving away any information (just recently again, luckily) let alone the whole plane before it's fully done.phil

Thanks for that. I was actually considering getting a complete cockpit from flight deck solutions but at $150,000nzd id rather buy a cessna of some description after my ppl in june(aiming for it).Id be happy with a joystick, not so much a yoke. Dont ask me why because I dont know, but any recommendations for a joystick with force feedback perhaps would be good. Otherwise its the saitek.

The CH Products joysticks are the highest quality and will have the lowest chance of breaking. Every other joystick has had issues in terms of reliability. I highly recommend CH Products.

Firstly, it depends of your system and settings you are using ofcourse. But PMDG announched already several times that if you can run the 747X or the MD-11 well, the 737NGX won't be a problem. PMDG also said that you will even get better FPS compared with the 747X and the MD-11. But keep in mind, the project is in development. Thus, the performance of the NGX can change after each modification.Robert told the following about frams per second:
Captains-We offered some frame rate guidance 6-8 months ago. In that guidance we indicated that performance was significantly better than the 747-400X and moderately better than the MD-11 when putting the NGX into similar locations/circumstances. In that post i was VERY CLEAR to point out that this guidance was not final- as we still had some very heavy computational pieces to add to the airplane. So let me make certain that everyone here is clear on this topic: WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET. PERFORMANCE IS CHANGING EVERY DAY BASED UPON WHAT WE ADD TO THE AIRPLANE, WHAT IS OPTIMIZED, and WHAT GETS TAKEN OUT OF THE AIRPLANE.When we are finished optimizing and adding these last few bits of functionality, we will give you some specific data on performance as well as recommendations on hardware.

Well maybe I should download the md-11 then. I can always overclock the 2600k up to 5ghz(which is possible without plumbing believe it or not!) But I dont want to do that if I can help it. CH joysticks may be the way to go. Not sure yet. Im getting around 45-60fps around australian airports with everything set to maximum and orbx scenery loaded in aus and rex. Hopefully it should be enough....

Then it won't be a problem to run NGX very well. PMDG is really trying to make the NGX and their next products more "FPS-friendly." Ofcourse, it takes still more FPS than a default plane but still it's an FPS improvement compared to the previous projects! ;)- Can you please send me a PM with your PC specs? Thanks in advantage!

Everyone who has a P67 motherboard pay attention to this: Intel has just started a recall for all their new motherboards because they found out that the SATA ports will fail over time. So don't go buying a P67 motherboard until this is fixed. As for people who already have it, I think that you'll be able to send it in for repair. Unfortunately, this will cost Intel more than a billion dollars which is deffinately not a good thing. I am deffinately not looking forward to disassembling my new rig. :(

Yeah i agree, i just thought it was a good idea from DCS, it makes both sides happy, the publishing company gets money and a whole host of people beta testing the product. We get the product quicker and because (unlike some other companies) they tell us that we are beta testing, nobody complaining that the angle of the third bezzle within the accuators is 4 microns out of alignment with the wing strut!
