Seattle and downtown Portland can be a bit taxing, depending on your hardware. If you're only running this free cityscape w/o the rest of the PNW package, you're only getting a tiny part of what Orbx can offer, so it's not really enough to judge how frames will be on your system. If you want to check out how it works in the non-urban areas, there's a free PNW demo on the site at http://fullterrain.com you can try. I have a good computer that runs PNW and PFJ nicely; Stark's Twin Oaks, Concrete, Darrington, and a couple of other ORBX offerings run well also. But the new Portland scenery brings my system to its knees. This scenery is too good and close to home to tolerate at 5-7 FPS; I have to find a way to make it run more smoothly, without moving sliders fully left. Have you any suggestions? Are there adjustments within PNW that could help? Desperate on runway 25 at 1W1.
