Thnks for the heads up Harry. I think I'll wait a bit as my connection speed is very slow at the moment (computer says over 1hr to download the 41MB for the scenery)Portland is available here;http://www.fullterrain.com/freeware.html

Thanks for the heads up.Just installed it and it looks great and there isn't even an FPS hit or at least one that I could detect so thats a good thing. Now I just need KPDX itself and I will be all set for this area of the US.

Yes, KPDX would be nice. Is there any payware/freeware in the pipeline?Harry

Yep, it's on our product roadmap already. KPDX is under development right now. It'll be a while, though - it's a huge project.

I´ve just checked it out with the Bell 206. So far looking good and very frame rate friendly. Is the PNW package as frame rate friendly as the Portland scenery or how are the frames in PNW generally?

Best regards, Steffen

In my experience, FPS in the PNW in general are excellent. Seattle and downtown Portland can be a bit taxing, depending on your hardware. If you're only running this free cityscape w/o the rest of the PNW package, you're only getting a tiny part of what Orbx can offer, so it's not really enough to judge how frames will be on your system. If you want to check out how it works in the non-urban areas, there's a free PNW demo on the site at http://fullterrain.com you can try.

Yep, far better than any of the other FSX city-specific cities I've ever seen. Wonder if either the Sidney Schwartz or the FlightZone KPDX will work in FSX though.Dave.

A Question for Bill Womack: Greetings from across the Columbia, north of Camas. I have a good computer that runs PNW and PFJ nicely; Stark's Twin Oaks, Concrete, Darrington, and a couple of other ORBX offerings run well also. But the new Portland scenery brings my system to its knees. This scenery is too good and close to home to tolerate at 5-7 FPS; I have to find a way to make it run more smoothly, without moving sliders fully left. Have you any suggestions? Are there adjustments within PNW that could help? Desperate on runway 25 at 1W1.
